Awful service, ignorant staff
Let’s start with the positives, the rooms are spacious and the food is mostly delicious. That’s about it. We stayed here for three nights and are thankful it was no longer as the experience from start to finish was terrible. The greeting from the reception staff was extremely poor, no welcome to the hotel, no eye contact just given a form to complete and then told where our room was. This is a resort which needs updating, everywhere was tardy. The lifts were awful and dirty, going into the lifts you feel as though you are going into old car park lift that has not been cleaned in years. Lots of the floor tiles throughout the resort are so slippy, these need urgent maintenance. The cleaning is awful, our bed linen had marks on it, the cleaner just turned the quilt round rather than putting on a clean one, the floor was not cleaned. Our cups from the coffee machine were removed after the first night and not replaced. There was no iron or ironing board even though our friends had them in their room. Towels were replenished but the one robe that we had in the room was removed and not returned. Whenever you contacted the concierge for anything you never got it, the ladies who worked on this desk were more interested in chatting and being on their phones rather than dealing with issues. There was normally around four staff and it was inconvenient if we wanted to ask them anything. They never smiled and they were all rude. The staff in the restaurants all need training on manners, if you asked for a drink it would take ages, nobody smiled, the staff just strutted around chatting to their workmates. If you asked for pastry and a coffee you would get tuts from the staff. There were lots of staff around but no one seemed bothered to help. The grill is basically a bar with snacks which closes at 10pm, the staff were only interested if there were groups of girls dancing and singing, this is right next to the children’s pool - wrong on every level, children do not want to hear loud Caribbean music and people shouting and dancing while they are playing. There is hardly anything to do in this resort, we went to the Rum Cask for the entertainment which was cancelled, we tried to get served at the bar but the bar staff were not bothered and completely ignored us. We could not get into the A La Carte restaurant as it was booked, which was complete rubbish as the restaurant was half empty each night. You cannot swim in the sea at this resort, you also cannot have a walk along the shoreline as there is constant seaweed. The beach was awful and untidy, you have to pay for a sun bed. There is nothing near this hotel you have to get a taxi to get anywhere. The staff need training on how to meet and greet customers, deal with issues in a timely manner. This hotel needs urgent management as it could be a wonderful experience. I can honestly say this has been one of the worst hotel experiences that we have had. This was not a cheap hotel, I could not recommend this to anyone.

Completely fine, minus the service
Like other people have mentioned, I also read reviews of this place before I went and was worried. My friends and I didn't mind this place overall, it's just a lot of missed potential. Yes it's relatively far away but they actually offer really good free shuttle services to different tourist attractions. You can't swim in the sea but that's really a matter of one Google away before you go. Admittedly we got a pretty decent deal for this hotel which might be why we aren't so mad. The a la carte restaurant was great, the steaks were actually the same quality as decent steak restaurants in London. The food at the pool bar was completely fine. The breakfast buffet didn't have that much stuff but it was fine too. The rooms were nice, although cleaning was done really late a few times (as in 4-5 pm). The main problem is the service. Getting drinks at the pool took forever. Even worse, asking for water anywhere was the most difficult thing in the whole place. I'd say it often took 5-10 mins to get water at breakfast, when everyone could plainly see the jugs of water right there. I'd get it if they were strict about drinks overall, but this was about water. It would've been easier to get a cocktail filled with ice in most of the resort than a glass of water. If I can provide an example of how awful the service was, we were off to a bad start. We'd just gotten to the room after a long day of travel, jet lagged and hungry. We were going to go and watch the sunset, eat dinner and have an early night. When we were leaving, we noticed the front door didn't lock. We obviously couldn't leave. It took an HOUR and multiple, multiple calls and going to the reception to get this sorted. There was no sense of urgency from the staff, even though we were frankly quite upset after a while since like I said, we were exhausted and hungry. The resort was maybe at 60% capacity, they could've easily switched our room in that time. We kept being told for 20-30 mins that a guy was on his way to fix it, but when he came he said he only got the call 10 mins before! There are so many things the hotel could've done about this pretty basic issue. Like I said, they could've moved us to another room (and upgraded us at the empty resort, if they really wanted to impress). They could've waived the room service fee and let us order food to the room after we said we were really hungry (we were just about to suggest this as the 'locksmith' arrived). Afterwards, they could've gifted us something to apologise for such a poor first impression. They did give us late check out for free to make up for this, but only after we explicitly asked. We never quite overcame that bad first impression, especially since the service was so mixed afterwards as well. Overall it was a good stay but there's so much they could easily fix if the staff actually cared.

Nice Hotel …. With great sea views
Nice hotel, good room & bathroom with really excellent a la carte restaurant ;) sadly only stayed for one night. Breakfast was very good also with lots of choice. Only negative is that there were no coffee/tea cups for the Nespresso machine.
