We come back every year!
We have been coming to Waipouli Beach Resort for the past 5 years and we absolutely love it! The location is central to either side of the island. The amenities are great and the pool area is lovely! We love the convince of having a grocery store and some restaurants across the street to walk to. Can't wait to return!
We got a 1 bedroom garden view through Costco. Our room was quite spacious and the kitchen was huge. The pool area was awesome, two fun slides to get you into the pool quick to cool off. I highly recommend this place.
We got an oceanview 1 bedroom through a Costco package. The property is beautiful and we had a decent ocean view from our balcony (side view not direct). The room is massive with a full kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer. The two downsides for me are the location and the lack of services. The name resort is a bit misleading. It’s definitely a condo building, no maid service but they charge you $175 cleaning fee at the end plus $25 daily resort fee. The beach outside the room is gorgeous but not for swimming.
Poor & Rude Service from Hotel Staff
We had a few very unpleasant interactions with the staff at this hotel. On our second night, the fire alarm went off at 4am, forcing us to evacuate the building. We joined several other guests outside wondering what was happening, but no staff met us outside to provide directions or let us know if it was safe to return to our rooms. After the alarm finally stopped, we returned to our room and went back to sleep. A half hour later, a security guard started beating down our door. Without even saying hello, he started yelling and accusing us of setting off the alarm, even though we did not. He was extremely loud and rude, and also very confused. After he finally left out room, we heard him do the same thing to guests with the two rooms next to us. When we brought this up the next day with front desk staff while we were checking out, they were not sympathetic in any regard and made no efforts to better understand why the alarm went off in the first place, who the specific security guard was or why he was so rude to several guests, or to make any amends on this terrible experience. They showed no oversight for the hotel staff which was disappointing and honestly quite concerning. Definitely would not stay here again.
Nice resort but broken clothes dryer, no WIFI, and low water pressure in the kitchen was terrible!
We booked a nine day trip to Kauai staying at the Waipouli Beach Resort through Kauai Calls. Come to find out that the dryer is broken and would not be fixed until the day we were leaving. Since Kauai Calls knew it has broken after the last guest and would be broken during our stay, they should have let us know BEFORE our trip and offered us some options. Instead, I only found out before we got there since I was confirming they had a washer and dryer in the unit. Kauai Calls did offer to pick up and drop off our laundry but it was inconvenient. This would have been OK if not for the fact that the WIFI was also broken. Given I had some important business meetings during my trip, the shoddy internet connectivity posed a real problem. I have stayed at hotels all over the US and even cheaper hotels did not have as many problems. My son - who lives for his online games - had to call technical support who told us ours was the ONLY unit that was having wifi issues! After numerous failed attempts to connect to the internet in the room, I had to sit in a Starbucks and use my cell phone data plan to connect. Finally, the hot water in the kitchen had no pressure making washing dishes in the condo extremely hard. Kauai Calls did give us a certificate for breakfast the last day of our stay and were professional dealing with our complaints. Regardless, these three things really put a dent in our otherwise peaceful vacation. We were otherwise happy with the resort, amenities and staff.
