We we’re told we had a superior room it was very small but clean. The people were very pleasant. It was just a lot of little things for example no bacon on the buffet, no facial tissue in the room, only 2 bath towels and for the most part “cheap” booze.
Viva Wyndham Tangerine May 17-24, 2019
The resort is very clean, with friendly enough staff. Jassica who greets everyone at the Buffet for breakfast and lunch is the best! She has such a vibrant personality, always smiling and talking to everyone. The animation team was just ok, very selective about who they spoke with and spent time with. They also need to change their playlist, after being there for a week and hearing the exact same songs every day and night it gets boring. The sunrise on the beach is spectacular, well worth getting up early to see and the best part!
Excellent small resort... awesome staff and a great beach!
We had an excellent time at the Viva Wyndham Tangerine resort! We had an ocean front room overlooking the pool. The room was large and very clean… thank you to our housekeeper, Delma! Everyone working at the resort was very friendly and always greeted us with a smile. The resort had good Wifi throughout, a feature we were not expecting. When you are on the main floor by the restaurants, use the bathrooms behind the airline desks. Much bigger and better! We enjoyed two a la carte dinners; one in the Mexican restaurant and the other in the Italian restaurant. Both were very good, and the meals were very large. We ate at the buffet for the other meals and there were lots of yummy options there. One aspect that we missed was more variety of fruit; some cantaloupe or strawberries would have been nice. However, we enjoyed the many different themes throughout the week at the buffet and we always filled our plates! We want to thank Jesica, our maître d’, for being so friendly and kind every day! She greets you with a big smile at each meal! We also want to thank our waiters for being so attentive and friendly, both at the buffet and at the a la carte. So thank you to: Eddie, Ronald, Anyi, Amanda, Estefany, Cipriano, Juandi, Orlando, Anibal and Raul. A big thank you especially to our waiter, Nicolas, for going above and beyond every day to serve us! Even if he wasn’t our server for the meal, he would often bring us an extra glass of juice and would check in to make sure we were enjoying our food. He was very friendly and was concerned about us getting seats on a busier night. We did two excursions on our holiday, and both were a lot of fun. We booked them with our Sunwing representative, Luis who was very informative and attentive. The first was a city tour with a cable car ride up the mountain. It was a great way to experience the culture of the city and the beauty of Puerta Plata. Our second excursion was a catamaran cruise that included lunch and snorkeling. The boat ride was beautiful, and we definitely recommend it! Our snorkeling instructors, Alex and Alain, were very helpful, and it was a lot of fun to feed the fish right out of our hands! Just one suggestion for the catamaran is to bring your own gravol if you are prone to sea sickness. The resort is on the east coast, so you get beautiful sunrise views! It is on a nice windy beach that provides a lot of relief from the heat! The water and sand is clean as well, but just be aware that there are a lot of vendors that will approach you while you are relaxing on the chairs. Luckily, they are not too pushy. HOWEVER, look out for the photographers at the resort. They are very pushy. One photographer tried to sit with us almost every day at the bar and we ended up hiding upstairs to get away. He even tried to get our phone numbers and would not take no for an answer… it seemed inappropriate, since he wasn’t even interested in taking our picture after the first day; just wanted our contact information. I don’t think this would be an issue, though, for families or couples. There isn’t a lot of entertainment during the day, but toward the end of our trip, we discovered the evening shows (at 9:30 p.m.), and we saw three performances. The dancers were incredibly talented, and the shows were gorgeous! The theatre is just a small area upstairs, but with that being said, you feel like you are right there in the show. I wish we would have seen more than just three shows! Some of their routines include Africa night, with all sorts of animal costumes, and a beautiful presentation of “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic. All in all it was a great resort where we always felt safe. We would definitely return!
we had a very nice time Food was good hotel very clean personal very nice outside of the hotel we found the nicht life a Little boring but we still had a good time! enjoyed the pool and beach very much

I visited the resort with my mother to celebrate Mother’s Day. We spend there 6 days and 5 nights. The resort was great, the staff was super nice, the food was super delicious. We had a great time. The only thing was that the disco was super boring because was empty. I think the animation team should animate the disco too during the night, especially the nights that they don’t have shows (which is from Monday to Wednesday). The animation team made the resort less boring during the day. Thank you “black panther”, “baby”, “la pinky” and all. I recommend this resort, just that they need to make the disco more fun with the animation team.
