This resort was very nice. The majority of the staff were very pleasant, cheerful, and always had a smile on their faces. The resort is very beautiful, and there are plenty of things to do. I will go back again!!!

    Great family vacation!

We had GREAT time at Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach. We did a trade through RCI for our week there.  For the cost of the All Inclusive fees it was SOOO worth it. We got there and back by taking an overnight cruise from West Palm Beach, FL. PROS: The staff exceeded our expectations. Roberto, in particular, was great. He always had a positive attitude and was helpful when we needed assistance. When we first arrived we did not realize that all the staff we saw throughout the resort during the day were also the performers for the evening show. So, the same girl handing out towels, or guy signing out catamarans, or girl teaching aqua gym, or guy handing out cocktails prior to dinner, would later be dancers and acrobats during the evening show. They were SO good. The Lion King was my favorite show. I especially liked how they involved the children. I honestly don’t know how the staff does everything they do. They would be out around the resort beginning at around 9 am, work all day, perform in the evening show, and still be at the late night beach or pool party entertaining guests until 1 am! Even when I would have thought it was a break time for them, like during meals, they would still be interacting with guests, helping guests, and being genuinely friendly. It was wonderful. I hope they are well paid! The maintenance and cleaning staff were also exceptional. They were very polite and helpful throughout our visit. So many activities. We enjoyed the catamaran, boogie boarding, kayaking, paddle boarding, archery, tennis, bingo, aqua gym, corn hole, and just relaxing laying on the beach. The employee Maui was great at helping us with water sports and teaching us how to use the Catamaran. There were diving and other excursions, but we found them to be overpriced versus arranging them on your own. Probably good for people who aren’t comfortable making their own arrangements, however. [I recommend skipping the overpriced snorkeling trip with the resort and making your own reservations to go to Paradise Cove and snorkel Deadman’s Reef. It was less money and we swam with sea turtles, hundreds of fish, a stingray, and two barracudas] RCI members are treated like royalty. We did not have to wait in line to get our drinks at the bar. There was a special cabana and VIP area on the beach just for us. In the dining room there is a special area just for us with table clothes and extra attention. In our room when we arrived there was a champagne bottle and fresh fruit to welcome us. There was also a lounge and library with pastries and soda cans and water bottles. RCI members also got premium drinks with top shelf liquor and other guests did not. The facilities were very clean. There were constantly employees working to clean and maintain the facilities. The food was delicious. Although it was obvious that they used leftovers from prior meals in later meals in different recipes, I think that is somewhat to be expected. The dining staff were so polite and wonderful. Dianna in particular treated us very well. Tropical night at the buffet was my favorite. I loved being able to enjoy so many conch and seafood dishes! The kids club was better than I expected. It is in a small building, but the staff were GREAT. They took the kids out multiple times a day to the pool, to the beach, on catamarans, and even to trapeze lessons. Kennidy and Manuel were both phenomenal with the children. I only wish we had known that they would take the children to lunch and dinner prior to close to the end of our trip. This is not advertised anywhere, but the staff will take the kids to lunch and then parents can pick them up from there by 1:15 pm. And at 8 pm parents can drop the children off to eat dinner with the staff and then pick them up at 9:15 pm at the mini-disco before the evening show. My children LOVED the kid’s club staff and we would have done this every day if we had known.   CONS: The three restaurants on site, besides the snack bar and the buffet, are not open every night. I knew that reservations would be required in advance, but they appeared to be on a schedule where they planned to not be open every night to conserve staff or food items. The guest services team would tell a different lie every day to explain why the restaurants were not open, but it was evident after a few days that it was on a rotating schedule for closure. There is a problem with towels and laundry. The employees handing out pool towels would tell lies about how in “ten more minutes” there would be more towels, but they would continue to say that for hours on end. I expect that when I am at a beach resort I will be able to get a pool towel. One employee told me that the washers and dryers were broken, but I think it was more of an inventory problem (see below). The same problem with pool towels exists in the rooms. Our dirty towels would often be taken away and not replaced with the same number of towels. I heard from other guests that they had the same thing happening. I assume that the resort doesn’t have the right number of towels in their inventory, so they shuffle the towels around and every other day a different room gets shorted. The trapeze was closed for the first half of the week we were there. The staff kept saying it was broken or out of order, but it later became apparent that was another lie. Mid-way through the week a new employee arrived and was introduced as the ‘chief of the trapeze’. Once he was there the trapeze was magically ‘fixed’ and open again. It would have been better to be told that they did not have the proper staff for safety reasons than to tell us it was broken when it obviously was not. The doors and windows in the room need to be caulked around the openings. When it would rain in our room (Room 1208) water would pool up on the balcony and pour into our room near the floor. We could visibly see the outdoors through the gaps on the balcony doors as well as the room doors to the outside. I would guess it is also an efficiency issue with the AC for the resort.     In all, it was a GREAT time. The AI fees were very reasonable for what you get. If you are an owner or with RCI be prepared for extra pampering. Highly recommend!

    Gorgeous Beach!

First time vacation in Bahamas and all inclusive trip. Booking agent said it’s cheaper to book all taxes and tips included. Don’t know for sure, because all the foods and drinks and most activities including are self service and renting equipments basically. You will have to paid extra to get other activities outside. We were a little bit fool by inclusive activities meaning. Buffet is always open and good variety of taste American breakfast, Italian, Mexican, Asian, island food. Fine dining choices are very limited and hard to book the date and time you want. Best beach ever visited in my life! Crystal Clean and Super Calm Beach! Just try to soak your stress away!

    Amazing place to stay!

This was my 3rd time staying at this resort and I am nothing but impressed every time. The food is amazing, the staff is awesome always a clean room. They have activities going on all day literally all day. We met some amazing animators there Ziko was the absolute best never a dull moment with him there. He always went out of his way to come talk to us, make us laugh and hang out. His soccer and dancing skills are great as well! We also met Gabrielle and Charlie, they are also animators there, they are great dancers and super funny! We all had an instant connection with them as if they were family. They people go way above and beyond working long shifts and they don’t complain one bit always a smile on their face! :)
