    Most relaxing holiday ever

Fantastic holiday. Everything in the resort was perfect. Staff were all great. Hotel is right on the beach, plenty of sunbed. TUI rep was there 6 days a week to arrange trips and answer any queries. Would definitely go back again. Pure relaxation

Good food, rough around the edges, bad for Barclays Wyndham cardholders

This was our second stay at a Viva property. We picked a bad time to come to Mexico, as humidity was high and it was hot every day. Our fault. The air conditioner in the room could not keep up with the humidity, and I slept in my sweat every night. We stayed 5 nights and were offered two reservations at the on-site restaurants. I got a silver wristband, possibly because of my Wyndham Platinum status. This allowed us to also book a reservation at one of the restaurants at the Viva Azteca, which was a nice bonus. We found the food at the buffet to always have an excellent offering, but we were also always there on the early side of when it opened. The staff here were amazing. We mostly drank beer and sparkling wine when we were drinking alcohol, which was all perfectly fine. I enjoyed the mezcal from the lobby bar. I ordered a "mezcal margarita" from the lobby bar at the Azteca (same liquor selection) and it was undrinkably bad. My biggest complaint, and one that is still unresolved, is that I have a Wyndham Earner+ credit card from Barclays that earns 6 points per dollar at Wyndham properties. Neither the original room charge 2 days before check-in nor the incidentals charge at the hotel counter qualified as "Wyndham" charges. The first charge showed up as "VivaMayaAzteca" and was categorized as SCHOOLS AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES. The second charge showed up as "CLUB MAYA BEACH PLAYAC" and was coded as TIMESHARES. Barclays says this is not their responsibility, and I believe them. Wyndham has so far only told me to contact Barlcays, though I believe it's a problem with their billing system and not Barclays.
