Worst Honeymoon Ever!
This resort gives time shares a bad name. This vacation was bought by my mother in law for my husband and myself to enjoy a beautiful honeymoon. The trip started out with not being on the resort list to be picked up from the airport when we got there. When we checked in we were told that we did not have all inclusive by the front desk clerk Luigi. We were forced to sit down with a woman name Irma to hear that unless we go though a time share presentation we would not get 20% off the meals at the resort. 5 days into our 7 day honeymoon we found out that we had all inclusive from my mother in law. When we discussed this with the resort and the front desk they did not admit any fault and blamed it on my husband and myself. We only had 2 days of all inclusive with the resort. There was absolutely no care provided by front desk or anyone involved. The only positive experience was the spa. The women and managers at the spa were willing to work with our schedules and provided extraordinary care and service. All in all we were denied the services that we paid for because we did not want to go to a time share presentation.
We absolutely loved villa del palmar & it’s staff! Everyone was wonderful & treated us like family. Within minutes of arriving we had a medical emergency with our daughter & the staff was quick in action, called a dr to come to our room & ensured we were ok. Continuously called the next day to check up on us & asked about my daughter when they’d see us around the hotel. Definitely will be visiting back. I would recommend doing all inclusive though, that’s my only regret. Can’t wait to be back!
Awesome and affordable place.
This place may not be the newest resort; however, it is wonderful nonetheless. All of the staff are very friendly and willing to help you. Jhovana helped us get settled into The resort and answered any questions we had, she was very sweet and helpful. All of the staff that comes to wait on you is wonderful. They are all super nice and patient. Some very good waiters and waitresses were Osvaldo, Francisco and Daniel just to name a few. The best waitress was Sandy in the sports bar, she was the nicest lady and she helped us with directions and advice for the trip. The maids that clean the rooms do an excellent job as well. The hotel is very clean and welcoming. The shows at night are also fun! Great entertainment staff, Monica and David are awesome! The food is absolutely awesome and there are so many options. Drinks are also great and high quality. Would highly recommend the all inclusive option so that you can get your money’s worth, this is the best way to go. Overall a great and safe place to vacation. Had only good experiences here.

I've been on a considerable number of tours over several decades. Most tour guides, with a single notable exception in London, have been well prepared and good presenters. On April 25th or 26th with my partner Linda, through the concierge at Villa del Palmar, arranged for a tour of San Sebastian del Oeste and we were referred to Mr. Obed Castaneda. We spent most of the day, approximately 7 hours, with Mr. Castaneda His knowledge of the area, not only of San Sebastian del Oeste, but along the 70 miles of the travel route to that destination was extraordinary. He had answers to even our obscure questions; he presented the answers with excellent command of the language, conveyed interesting and revealing facts and raised issues that rounded out our knowledge of the area, some items were as remote as one could imagine, but interesting in every case. In short, he was top rate, and we appreciated his work and effort. I should point out that he was not aware of a single item which we, as older folks, had recollected -- specifically, "The Love Boat" TV series which we had viewed siting before our black and white TV sets in the 70s and enjoyed. It featured a cruise boat between Los Angeles and Puerto Vallarta. Frankly, I had vaguely recalled this series, remembered some of the characters and scenes, but I was not sure of much else about the series, so I Googled, "The Love Boat" and confirmed my memory. It came back to me when we drove by the cruise ship at the dock and Mr. Castaneda noted that soon cruises will be able to take on passengers at Puerto Vallarta, not presently allowed. We overlook this single lapse because we are old and Mr. Castaneda is young enough to be entirely non-aware of the TV series. His other qualities fully offset this small item. Once more, we much appreciated Mr. Castaneda's work and efforts on our behalf. Thanks. David, Crystal City, Arlington, VA Linda, Town of Chevy Chase, MD
Puerto Vallarta May 2019 Vacation
We have been to PV three different times - once on a cruise ship and twice staying in an RCI exchange resort. Puerto Vallarta is a fun and relaxing place to visit. This particular resort is older but well maintained, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We traveled with our son, daughter-in-law and their 2 1/2 year old daughter. The pool closest to the beach was perfect for a child with a wading area attached. Our granddaughter loved the pool and so did we. There were 2 other pools. Our room was in the main building with an elevator. Our room was a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit with a mini kitchen and a large balcony. The people in PV are friendly and helpful. There is a nice mini-market on the property that had Mexican pastries and also served breakfast and lunch items. Five other restaurants can be found on the property. It was easy to get a taxi from the resort to ride to the Malecon or go out for lunch or dinner. The resort arranged transportation from the airport to the hotel, but a taxi is much cheaper, which we took on the return trip.
