My daughter and I stayed here for a few days and had a lovely stay. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful. They took a genuine interest in what we had been up to. Our room was lovely, but maybe a little tired looking in certain places, e.g. the bath and shower and the wooden furniture. But a great room in itself with plenty of space and storage and a view to die for! We preferred to eat in Asiago restaurant in the evening . Food and service was very good. We ate in both of the other restaurants and the buffet style was fine for breakfast and lunch. Wide range of drinks available at the bars- lovely cocktail list! The lady in the Activities Centre was very helpful and arranged a last minute trip to swim with the turtles for later that morning. Excellent service. We did an early morning guided nature walk with one of the staff from the hotel- excellent. It was lovely to learn more about the plants and animals and walk around the local area. We were able to walk to the local supermarket but the prices were very high so I can understand why people go All inclusive.
Double Birthday Holiday (just)...
We booked this holiday 18 months ago on the advice from a Virgin Holidays Retail Travel Consultant in Abingdon who I contacted b phone (I know, how last century). I got a 50% discount by booking so far ahead in advance. Enough about the great Virgin Travel Consultants, the hotel is great, lots of amenities and the staff are very professional, courteous and friendly. Honestly, nothing is too much trouble. We had a incident with an overflowing toilet and before I got to reception to report it, they management had walked passed and the maintenance team were in the room when I got back. Top tips - talk to the water sports guys, they will arrange and set up sun beds on the beach for you. Note all beaches in Barbados are public, so you can take your towels and walk further up the beach to find the perfect swimming/surfing spot. Food is very good and snacks are available throughout the day at the snack shack. There is also the Dover Market just 3 minutes walk for all the things you think you have forgotten, sun lotion, after sun, flip flops, sun hats and things to keep on hand for hungry kids late at night.
For 6 days, we were treated like royalty.
From the moment we arrived at Turtle Beach, we started having the time of our life. It is truly a Disneyland for beach fun. Along with having great hotel accommodations and excellent service, Turtle Beach could not do enough to entertain us. We had delicious meals from several restaurants, great desserts, and excellent entertainment. They all kept saying that they were here for us...and they proved it!
Stayed in this fantastic resort from 14th July for 10 Days!
My wife and I and 2 x kids thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back in the near future. There seems to be some ever so slightly negative reviews on here but believe me it was worth every penny. We had a garden room which more than accommodated the 4 of us 1 x big double, single bed and a sofa bed. if there is one thing that we found negative it was the sofa bed, it was a tad bit uncomfortable but it is very minor thing to point out. Food was 100% brilliant with a wide variety to choose from and in the evenings you had the Italian Al La Carte which we went to on 2 or 3 occasions. Ice Cream shop and coffee shop selling pannies etc..... and unlimited pizza on the go for any light snacks during the day. All the staff were amazing but a big shout out to our man Jared who worked tirelessly during our stay bringing drinks and snacks to everyone around the pool and beach... great guy. We even got on very well with our cleaners so can't really fault anyone or anything! Beach was spotless and there was some seaweed here and there but this was quickly cleared, plenty of sunbeds to accommodate everyone. I would definitely give this holiday a 10/10.
Family oriented resort
Family oriented resort would not recommend for couples without children. Suggest you read all reviews before you stay. We stayed based on recommendations from people we met on previous trips to Barbados. Be advised there was no pool for adults to cool off in so if you can’t go in the ocean you are just out of luck. The pool etiquette and safety rules were posted but not followed or enforced by some parents or hotel staff. We couldn’t find any comfortable seating for adults to socialize and enjoy a drink. If it wasn’t for the great staff and service (plus the awesome new friends we met) this stay would have been very disappointing. Tracy was an outstanding server who seemed to be everywhere. The staff worked tirelessly to try and keep the beach clean of seaweed. Buffet and quality of mixed drinks were disappointing. Very cramped serving area for buffet. We didn’t feel we received a good value for the all inclusive package price. The only real high point of our stay was observing a turtle nesting.
