DONT STAY IN THIS HOTEL
-500 DOLLARS FOR THE NIGHT -POOL CLOSED -NOISE EVERYTHING YOU WANT FOR A VACATION AT HAWAII RIGHT??? imagine finding out about this through the WEBCAM on their website???? And when I called to ask for a discount/upgrade/relocation, the lady at the phone said I am UNLUCKY!!! She took 10 MINUTES to find in the app where this information about renovation was. And she was actually looking for this information. I had no idea and was supposed to see it?? ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I am said and very disappointed!!! If I could go back in time I would have chosen ANY OTHER hotel. I feel tricked, sad and mistreated My trip is from June2nd-June 9th. I am hoping they will do SOMETHING to make me feel better. I will post about it in the next days.
Yes there is construction, but not enough to ruin your stay.
So yes, HUGE construction underway. However we had great service at all aspects of the hotel...from check in, the restaurants and beach rentals. We rented chairs on the beach and couldn’t hear anything. My kids still really enjoyed the pool, though it was half closed. I do think charging a $30 resort fee during this is a bit silly since it’s not fully open. And they should reduce the points per night...more to a lower tier. I am a high loyalty member and was surprised they wanted to charge me $150 more a night for the update tower...especially during construction. The room we had was very outdated, but we weren’t in the room much. Would have given this 4 stars if we were in the beach tower (which had tons of availability). The location is absolutely perfect, so for us, it was worth the construction. My family had a great vacation. Oh and there is a luau on property, which was awesome! Just get off the elevator...no Uber or driving required.
I only had dinner here but I felt obliged to say something. Our dinner wasn’t pleasant because 1/2 the pool area was under major construction. The flamingos and birds are gone from the lobby. I am a premier member at Marriott/dog and will seriously reconsider staying at their other properties. I am not sure why they wouldn’t close the resort down entirely. At the least, I would expect big warning messages on their website and at least a 50% discount on rooms. Literally 1/2 the pools and public areas are closed. How can they charge a resort fee when 1/2 the amenities aren’t even accessible? This is beyond shameful.
We got a beach view room. There we enjoyed watching whales from our patio.. it was a very big and well maintained resort. No complaints about the room facility.. maids are so friendly. Worth the cost !!
Bad experience at The Westin
Our experience staying at the Westin was dreadful. We came here to celebrate our long overdue honey moon and it couldn’t have been a worse experience. Upon checkin we were given a room literally facing a bunch of construction workers and so we had to keep in our room with the blinds closed. As for the room, it was in a pretty bad condition. The toilet got clogged multiple times throughout our stay, the iron board was broken, and a couple of towels had stains. And to top all, the mattress was so worn out and uneven, that I woke up on my last day with an acute back pain and had to cancel our planned activities. The customer service was pretty bad as well. When we called to ask if there is any ice packs to help with the back pain (thanks to your mattress) they never got back to us. Then after calling them a couple of times, no one was picking up. Finally I spoke with the manager and she only took off a relatively small Amount that didn’t even cover 1 activity that we missed due to the broken mattress. We definitely won’t stay here again
