Only thing better than the property is the staff
My wife and I got married at the Ritz last week and our experience could not have been better. We both travel extensively for work and appreciate excellent service when we see it, but this was above and beyond the norm. The grounds and facilities themselves are excellent, although only one of the two tennis courts was available. The beach and location to a fantastic and scenic cliff side hiking trail were definite pluses, but the remarkable staff made the trip for us. They were extremely accommodating and seemed to love what they do. Specifically, Justin at the pool, Tim at the beach, our housekeeper Maggone, Marsha at the front desk and Lisa in the coffee shop made strong impressions. In addition, Sierra made the wedding planning seamless and was a pleasure to work with. Brenda in the salon did a spectacular job getting my new bride ready for the ceremony as well. Looking forward to going back for our anniversary next year.
Maui - Ritz-Carlton
First time to Maui, came to explore for business purposes staying at the lovely Ritz Carlton. The property is old and expansive in size. Beautiful grounds with wonderful areas to walk and a fantastic place to exercise. The room we are staying in did not have the view we hoped for, but it is clean and a great size. I don’t mind the room, because it is close to the everything I need. The staff in the breakfast restaurant are extremely friendly and helpful especially Amy, Romeo, Patty and William. The pool area has plenty seats, but could do with more umbrellas options. Great service at the Maui Jim pool side store Aegea is friendly and knowledgeable about the various products. The con so far is the fact beach umbrellas and chairs are not included in the price. All guests pay resort fees, and many travel from around the world so one would expect 5 stars all the way. Big bummer: The fact no beach - umbrellas and chairs are free to guests is absolutely disappointing. I spent the day at the Four Seasons resort to discover they included full beach service. (Chairs, Towels and Umbrellas are set up for guests at no charge) where as the Ritz charges an absorbent feel of $100 per day for beach chairs & umbrellas. I highly suggest guests pay for the breakfast package because it will save you from spending + -$34 per day on eggs. I will be updating my review as soon as my trip is concluded. Happy to share travel notes with fellow travellers. Stay tuned.
Fall trip to Maui Ritz
Excellent location, absolutely wonderful staff, great access to beaches and activities. All the food was excellent (pricey, but in line with other tourist areas on the island). Only critical feedback was most of the food options on the resort close early, and the showers were small.
Beautiful location elevated above the shoreline. Terraced from the lobby to pools to the beach. Expansive pool area with great views of the water. Breakfast in the main restaurant also has water views. The rooms are large and comfortable. I liked the bar near the pool which had a nice happy hour promotion. Walking along the cliff in the morning was fantastic as it wraps over to Kapalua Bay. The only caution is that food is quite pricey with only one restaurant option on site for dinner. There are several nearby in the area which you can walk or take a shuttle to. The beach is nice, but you have to pay a steep price for chairs and umbrellas. Should be all included for the price. Overall a nice place to stay for a few days.
Needed a break from work and all the decisions that have to be made daily.
From the time we pulled up to the valet desk to leaving we were pampered by a very attentive staff. The facilities were excellent and our suite was wonderful, including the views. We really hated having to leave.
