Great location, beaut large room, but soundproofing please!
This is in a great location, central to everything. The room was clean, large and airy, with plenty of room to move. But -- it's so noisy! The 2 large windows let in every possible sound from outside - and the noise went on all night, starting with the disco 'til midnight, then the street party outside. Unfortunately, the bed was rather uncomfortable, with brick-like pillows. At least the shower had good water pressure.
Fantastic in every way 😀
We recently stayed at The Laylow for 9 nights and was very impressed. We booked a junior suite and found the room to be very spacious, with king bed, sofa, arm chair and table and chairs. We were fortunate to be upgraded to the 16th floor and opposite the lifts found the coffee machine, fresh juice and pastries throughout the day a real treat. You could see the ocean from both balconies and it was lovely to open the doors for fresh air. The room was cleaned spotless daily, with plenty of fresh towels. The hotel itself looks fresh with a Hawaiian vibe. The prints on the beach towels are the print on the walls in room and coffee cups. Love the way everything flows. We had the free shaved ice one day and that was a nice treat. Staff were always attentive to any questions we had. Do try and have a drink and breakfast at hideout. Both were great with a lovely atmosphere. And the location of the hotel is perfect. Lots of great restaurants near by and a short walk to beach. Thank you Laylow for an amazing stay and vacation!
A gem hotel in Honolulu
My family (with 2 adult kids) stayed at the Laylow. We loved it - great location - lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance (including Waikiki) - the rooms were very nice and the Hideout restaurant and bar was a plus. The staff was friendly and helpful, we liked the king beds, and the gift basket was a nice touch. We also enjoyed the Hawaiian history books in the room. I highly recommend it, if you want to stay in the Waikiki area.
Excellent managerial customer service
Our family was spending a couple of nights in Honolulu on the back end of our two week Hawaiian Island vacation, and chose the Laylow, using Marriott Bonvoy points. We stayed the first night, and then, in order to be closer to other family staying at a different nearby Marriott location, we requested that our reservation be changed and my points refunded. Kudos to manager Gabrielle M, who received my request, and while noting the hotel policy did not have to allow me to make such a change only on 24 hours notice, Gabrielle went to bat for me, and made the change happen. I always respect and appreciate managers who will seek empowerment on behalf of a loyal customer (lifetime Platinum Elite). Kudos to Gabrielle, and to the entire staff at the Laylow!
Great little hotel
Booked this place as you can get two king size beds. The only hotel I’ve found offering this, anywhere. Great when you’re used to a super king at home and have a daughter who sleeps like a restless octopus! Staff great, breakfast great, lovely gift box with complimentary slippers (or flip flops as we call them in the UK). Wife and daughter still wearing them now. Great location too, but the smallest pool ever, although it is a city centre location to be fair. A nice relaxed vibe about the place.
