wonderful property at The Atlantis. very impressive from the moment you arrive on site until you depart. staff is quite friendly and helpful. rooms are large, well cared for, and the views are tremendous. the entire resort is simply something to be experienced. you pay a bit more to stay at the cove but it is worth it
We had a great stay at The Cove. The suites are roomy and nicely appointed. Beach area was fantastic. We had a small group meeting and the service throughout the trip was impeccable. Only area a bit disappointing was the F&B pricing, found it to be extremely high. May try some restaurants at the Marina if this is an issue for you.
Don't waste your money on this resort it is overpriced
This resort is not what it's hyped up to be Way overpriced for what you get the staff is not friendly the whole hotel is outdated half the stuff is closed what I mean by closed is some of the outside bars are entertaiment there was absolutely no live bands at this resort you could not sit outside and listen to the music there was nothing. The pool and everything shuts down at about 8 o'clock even the Jacuzzi.. Stay at a different resort there's resorts next to it that are better I would advise staying at an all inclusive. You can always walk to the Atlantis and look at it and you'll probly understand what I'm talking about
Another Day in Paradise!
There are a few must-haves for us to visit a place. These include easy air travel, warm-weather locations, great restaurants, and a casino! Atlantis checks all of the boxes and more. The rooms at the Cove are spacious, luxurious, and offer views of the ocean, pools, tubing on the rapid river, towering slides, and much more, all of which are staffed by extremely friendly, helpful people. The casino is not at the Cove, but the shuttles are never more than a few minutes away, and you can always walk there if you want. Food is expensive but the portions feed two to four people and the drinks are free in the casino, so that's a plus. The dealers are friendly and the rules are pretty much what you'd find elsewhere in the Caribbean or Vegas. BJ shoes are 8 deck with about 82-85% penetration. Generally there are $15 tables open during the day, as well as $100 and $200 minimum tables, but later at night most of the $15 kick up to $25 min. Still not too bad. Getting there was easy from Orlando and the flight times are favorable on Bahamasair. The problem is they are NEVER on time so don't expect punctuality. If you have other flight options consider using them. Travel from the airport to the resort takes about an hour since traffic is somewhat sticky and you really don't need to rent a car since there's really little reason to leave the resort, and besides, they drive on the "wrong" side of the road! There is so much to do here that you won't be bored even if you stay an entire week---we were there 4 nights---but be sure to visit the dolphin pool. It's free unless you want an "encounter". The lazy river---with rapids---looks inviting but I found myself in a static sit-up for the entire trip of 1.5 miles, plus an neckache, so you decide. However, if you've seen their TV commercial with the giant waterslide know that it lasts about 3 seconds, you do get a little air underneath you as you go down, and wind up in a tube underwater that shoots you into a waist-deep pool. Keep your legs tightly crossed at the ankles because the force hitting that pool can twist your legs backwards and hurt your knees. There is another option at the top of the tower where there are twin chutes not nearly as violent where you can race your partner down to the pool, but hey, who flies all the way to Atlantis to chicken out? Take the tall one and live on the edge. Go there, if you dare. One last thing----you're going to do a LOT OF WALKING!
Nice but not what was expected
We chose the Cove because we have a 7 year old and wanted resort stay with lots of activities for child, and nice beach for me! It is a beautiful resort with nice beaches and lots of great pools and awesome sea life all around the grounds. BUT, ( here it comes) the staff is so hit and miss it’s dragging down the ratings. -Check in...wrong room we reserved( 2 queens instead of 1 king). -Trying to get the meal plan...1 hr on the phone to VIP desk, 4 x hung up on, transfers to our own voicemail and then 4 different people gave us 4 different prices! He asked to speak to a manager 3x and was told no 3x. He had to go down and track down a mgr to get a correct price and even then it was not described very well. FYI meals here are super duper crazy expensive and everything her has a 15% gratuity AND 12% VAT tax (meal plans does NOT include) ouch. - he hit his head and opened a big cut over his eye. Went to desk for first aid and told no bandaids. Asked 5 people and finally their first aid nurse said nope no help, go to a hospital. Never asked our name or room number ect. -went to snorkel in the big aquarium tank on property...it’s actually floating. Must wear life vests and it’s a quick guide timed thing 😳. Just be aware they charge for EVERYTHING here. Water 6$(not included taxes). The good things are that the kids are fully entertained and the resort is beautiful and although many of the staff do the bare minimum for a pay check some are not. A quick thank you to the head groundskeeper who opened a coconut for my son and our maid who kept our room spotless.
