    Ticked SOME of the boxes

I am aware as I write this that by the end of the review anyone reading it is probably going to think I’m something of a prude. Maybe I am..... We took the advice of our travel agent when looking for this holiday. It was booked specifically to help my mum and I recover from A recent bereavement. Neither of us had been to the Caribbean before and the all-inclusive package seemed ideal. The drive from the airport is about 90 minutes and our car did not have air-conditioning and frankly the thought of the journey is making my stomach do somersaults again. Very, very windy roads and after a relatively long flight definitely not the most comfortable.(It was even worse on the return journey because the traffic was very busy in the city and we were significantly delayed). On to the hotel. All the buildings are, in my opinion, fairly functional. There is no real wow factor other than the location. But to be fair we were in a oceanview twin room. I’m guessing if you pay more then you get more. There was no bath in our room. That said The beds were very comfortable, it was very clean and the chambermaids were lovely, friendly and very efficient. As many people have said before the food is not great. There is too much choice and none of it is of a particularly high standard. The service in the deli was hit and miss and in the main restaurant on two nights we left because it was chaos. Definitely a case of quantity over quality. The themed evenings are particularly disappointing. A Caribbean evening should be full of spice and flavour. I’ve had more heat in a cinnamon bun! The treatments are a lovely, I think, unique selling point. However, there is too much inconsistency between the friendliness of the therapists. Several of them looked thoroughly bored and I don’t blame them really, to be doing the same old massages Day in day out must be slightly frustrating after a while. I also found the recommendations for non-inclusive treatments a little tiresome and very expensive. (£85 approx for a 50 minute reflexology session is a little steep I think) There is absolutely loads to do in the water, out of the water, on and off the resort – there is no way you could be bored if you want to be active. Or if you want to spend time in meditation, yoga or any of the other more spiritual practices. You can sit on the beach all day if you like and you are looked after with water top ups, nibbles, ice cream – you get the idea. Snorkelling was fun and I can’t think of many places where you can go scuba-diving for free. There are three pools, the service again very hit and miss. If you like to be waited on then stick to the beach. And so to my slightly old-fashioned viewpoint. Whilst I completely accept it is a Beach resort I must admit to being surprised at how little people wear when they come off the beach into restaurants. Perhaps it is just me, but seeing overweight men wandering round in speedos and young girls with thong bikinis when trying to eat lunch was slightly offputting. But no one else seemed to mind... Anyway, I can recommend the body holiday if you don’t go expecting five star standard of anything. And, I wouldn’t look at it as a romantic destination. It’s more of a “fun” holiday-i’d take a friend next time. All that said the one thing that makes this place are the amazing people who work there. I hope that helps

Lovely Staff, Great Location, Awesome Facilities, Best All Inclusive Hotel In,,,,,The World

Stayed here many times, the staff are really lovely and deliver a great experience. The activities and facilities are awesome and the location is beautiful. Staff worthy of a mention. Anna, Janet, Brittany & Nigel Jit Chef Tao, Eugenie, Alex, Ainsworth & James Sommelier's, Chantel, Kim & Alice Club House, Donovan Beach, Renarta & Joseph Cariblue. The hotel is not perfect in some areas and some things are a little tired, however, this is best all inclusive hotel in the world and I've tried a few.

Simply the best- my home from home

I confess, I am a repeat offender at the Bodyholiday. So although that means I am a huge fan, I do always cast a critical eye. I have just returned from a 9 night trip and it was as exceptional as ever. The teething problems post refurb are all gone. Though I hope you get some rain soon, the poor gardens are desperate. As I have said many times before (and indeed so do all guests) the service from the staff is more than exceptional. The fact that so many remember your name and even what your drink order is always amazes and pleases me. My elderly aunt and uncle who live in the US joined me for dinner one night as they were staying down the road and my uncle summed it up by saying "this place is just something else". In terms of the huge extent of activities (both fitness and non fitness) I try to make it a rule to try new things each time but that means I come back thinking of everything I couldn't fit in as well (so an excuse to return). This time, I enjoyed the organic garden tour and cooking with the chef. I was also lucky enough to win a free dance lesson with lovely Robin Windsor. Oh well done you on getting Robin on board, he is such a great new addition to the team. Friendly, professional, efficient, great fun and he is clearly loving his new job and he is so good at it. That was the highlight of my holiday, being taught to waltz in only half an hour, I loved, loved, loved it. Thankyou Robin. I somehow didn't manage to make any of his dance fitness classes but I heard such great reports from everyone who did them (and I saw the sweat afterwards). The new F&B manager has improved the evening Cariblue menu (including upping the portion sizes a bit) and everything I ate there in the evening was impressive. Except for the ravioli with whole cashew nuts in it which was just weird (!). I did arrive with my often dodgy back being - well - dodgy. I had two excellent and very effective sports massages (not cheap though) with the very knowledgeable Hiley. I can highly recommend him and also Albertha. I also had an incredible yoga/Thai massage with Tendell ("Darling ,you need to meditate"). The newly refurbished rooms are curious. Some of the old furniture remains and it is shabby and I miss the drawers in the bathroom but this is a minor point. I was delighted that my AC was highly efficient and, best of all, quiet. So Bodyholiday Team, thankyou again for giving me such an exceptional holiday. So this is where I name names; Ingrid, McCarthy, Renata, Joseph (you know you are my favourites) Marline, Donna, Renata and Mindy (you girls rock) Robin (left, right, rainbow head, you gave me a hangover on my last day mate) Asha (where WAS Kenya?) Javed (I didn't get to say goodbye sorry) Jocelyn in Oasis for the best treatments and she knows it, James and the other cheeky wine boys, the lovely guy in the Clubhouse who calls all the ladies "my lady" when he serves us and the new Clubhouse lady, Delli (big smile, big heart, loving her job). See you in October, miss my second home.

    Activities Resort-Definitely Recommend

I stayed at the BodyHoliday May 2019. I travelled solo and it was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. There are so many activities--from yoga, spinning, archery, wine name it, BodyHoliday has it. You can be fit and eat healthy, or eat as many sweets as you like and drink the night away, its all up to you. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The mixed drinks the staff created were amazing, so much so I bought a ton of alcohol at the airport to try to replicate some of the drinks. Be prepared for the stairs to the wellness center! will get a workout. The treatments provided were good overall, all depends on the individual technician providing the service. I happened to have great technicians, some of the ladies I met did not. I would recommend BodyHoliday, it is the best of both worlds in terms of a vacation and still having the time to workout and enjoy other activities.

    An underrated stellar overachiever.

Spent 8 days. Could not say too much positive about this resort and island. The staff were amazing and attentive. The spa is decadent and beyond reproach - even when stressed by IT system failure ! I had a massage (the bamboo) that was life changing. The Ayurvedic center is romantic and soothing and unique. The island has lots to offer - rappelling a 130 foot waterfall, climbing a tough-ass mountain, snorkeling with eels and squid and pufferfish. It was a soul awakening experience. The all inclusive is really ALL INCLUSIVE. You cannot lose taking this trip - on multiple levels. They are winning. I may spring for the helicopter trip in next time ... although I loved my hotel driver !
