Still Missing SATP
I have to start with the staff because they absolutely make the holiday. Beautiful people who always have a smile and a positive attitude. The gardeners are so hard working, keeping the grounds looking pristine. One of these lovely gentleman made me a bouquet and another cut a fresh coconut for me. The staff just can't do enough for the customers, both in the resort and over at the beautiful beach. The beach isn't crowded and you can choose a spot with lots of space around you to lounge. Also there are newly refurbished toilets which are top notch. The sea is warm and very inviting. I did see a couple of stingrays as I was walking into the water, but they tend to swim away from you. It's good to see the talented buskers on the beach and to have a nice walk up the beach to browse at the market stalls run by the locals. The food at the beach grill was better than in the resort in my opinion. The pina coladas with rum was my fav drink. Back in the resort the rooms are spotless with a very big, very comfortable bed. We had an aircon malfunction but this was rectified very quickly and it worked perfectly from then on. It was so beautiful being surrounded by nature. The buffet food was in my opinion just average. But the staff were amazing and they made sure everyone was kept hydrated with plenty of water with meals. Paul at the piano bar played until about 9.30 and then there was a live band every night. Some were better than others. We made sure we got out of the resort to actually see Jamaica during some of the days. It was so worth it. I highly recommend The Ladyboss boat at the beach if you want a boat trip. We went on two trips with them and both were ace. All in all it was a beautiful two week holiday and I would love to return.
Jamaica Honeymoon at Sunset in the Palms
We spent 10 days on honeymoon at SATP. What can I say, is was first class. The location, the beach, the food, the service were all excellent. We had zero complaints. However the best thing (IMO) is that it is an adult only hotel, (not that I have anything against kids) but when there are no kids around the adults can relax and not spend time looking over their shoulders etc, which in results in a super friendly chilled atmosphere at all times of days where everybody is happy to see eachother and have a chat and a beer. Will defo be returning Dave and Paula , London
Fills like Home
Love, love, love and more love!!!! this place is amazing and the staff is unbelievable awesome. From the time we arrived until the day we left, we experience not but stupendous services from each staff personnel, but there are some very special persons that make this 20th anniversary/birthday getaway even more exciting, personalized, private and romantic, esort concierge O'Neil and our personal, personal, private (((Daniella))), bartenders Alex and Toby. Daniella and O'Neil are two beautiful people, they made us fill right at home, like we were family, not guest at their resort. But that Ms. Daniella is a miracle worker and true superstar. Whateven is was we needed or wanted she make sure it happened, she made us fill as if we were the only people there; not like a general guest staying at resort. Alex and Toby, the best bartenders by far. Thanks for loosing up my husband and thank you Toby for those Mojitos.
Perfect August Getaway with my Husband
We loved every minute of our recent trip to Sunset at the Palms in Negril. My husband and I had stayed at the Riu Palace next door, but way preferred Sunset at The Palms because of the initimacy and setting of the resort. The grounds are incredibly lush and you feel like you are truly in the midst of the jungle. The private beach was BEAUTIFUL and all of the staff, from the people who greeted us, to the bartenders, to the servers on the beach were nice and accommodating every step of the way! We will be back for sure!
Home sweet home
Another great trip I think I may not have done a review last year so figured I would do one this year. We stayed for our fourth time and same time frame over Christmas and New Years. It’s like coming home to your cottage and this year during that time frame we reunited with couples we have met over the years.I think at one point there were twenty plus of us. We were celebrating many things this year and booked the suite for a special touch. We probably would not do again as we feel it wasn’t worth the extra for two people and the location was not what we requested and several times the bathroom shower filled with bubbles and we were not in it....strange. We LOVE the resort and everything was as it always is. The staff are the most pleasant and helpful than any resort we have been to. Hard to top that. It was fun to experience the beach party addition a couple of times. The bon fire was great. It’s a lot of work for the staff and we appreciated it. It was a nice addition to have the little tables at the beach. Small things like that make a huge difference. There was a storm that blew in the day we arrived and the beach was in such bad shape with weeds etc, we had never seen it like that. It was so very impressive how fast the resort got the beach back in ship shape once the weather passed. Thanks for that. We told many of the sad faced new comers to be patient that things will get beautiful again. And they did. There was an upgraded path to the beach this year. Looks like they are sprucing it up a bit. The meals were great as always and we had some lovely dinners that we appreciated the staff setting our large group up together. New Years was the best fun yet. Great dinner as always and lots of dancing and fun. The light up gloves were a hit again...almost a tradition now. Sat around and asked each other our opinions about SATP. No question we all LOVE it and will return. Some suggestions that came from our beach talk were: -there are amazing pieces of furniture in the lobby and martini bar. It would not be costly to recover the seats in a bright bohemian look and the furniture would POP right out instead of looking dark -the rooms have such darkness for such neat rooms. Even a place like Ikea has cheap lights that are bohemian and bright. Probably get them for ten bucks each. Just a thought. -the martini bar is the hotspot and Paul of course is amazing. P -just once would like to have a nice little strip steak not cut into pieces by anyone -last suggestion is for a more varied authentic(to match the flavour)entertainment. For repeaters, while Paul is someone to look forward to, the rest is getting stale. Even if it’s just For an hour or so, people still like to dance and have fun All in all this is our home away therefore these are only honest suggestion and not criticism.WE LOVE IT JUST THE SAME. It’s always so very personal and as well Sharon the manager is very Visible and goes out of her way to say hello and satisfy her guests. Also a big clap to BRENDA and the girls for great massages and treatments. Time to save for our return this Christmas
