Nov 30, 2024Will return to Sunscape
This resort definitely met my expectations that I will return again. Crystal clear water for swimming and snorkeling. Lots of lounge chairs and towels. Food was excellent from the various restaurants to the main dining area. I liked the little ice cream nook and cafe. Entertainment was good and always activities going on. We took the bus on our own to Williamstad to do some site seeing and shopping and felt completely safe. We will return again to this resort in the near future!

We booked Sunscape without really doing a whole lot of research on the resort so here's an honest take. Staff are amazing. They are doing their best even with ehat appears to be a shortage of employees. But they are all so friendly and helpful and work hard in the extreme heat so bravo to all the workers. Chedimar makes a great drink and you can find him at the pool bar. Norma is typically at the top of the pool bar and is so sweet and lively and very fast too! The entertainment staff go above and beyond to keep people entertained all day and night. It's very impressive. Candy-man, Crazy-G, Estrella and Tinkerbell are the heart and soul of the resort and do so much for all the guests to keep everyone entertained. The saxophone night and the fire show and the carnival were our favorite entertainment nights. There are 5 restaurants. The Asian cuisine is extremely difficult to get into so we didn't try. One restaurant is closed every night but the buffet is always open. The buffet options are good. Not extravagant but filling. It can get busy and you might end up waiting for a table but no more than 5 minutes. The staff servers are so sweet and kind. Bluewater was my favorite restaurant to go to. They also have a coffee bar open all day everyday which was a huge plus for us! The beach and the pool are stunning. Snorkeling off the beach is a highlight of the trip and makes the whole resort even more appealing so bring a snorkel set. Out of all the places we Snorkeled the sunscape beach was the best one. You can see iguanas roaming around the property which was fun. The iguanas come down for water and are like squirrels in Curacao. The resort could put out a waterbowl to attract the iguanas so guest can take pictures maybe? The rooms are dated most definitely but it you don't plan on being in the room often it's not really a huge issue. The rooms are cold, the showers work, and the bed is comfortable and that was all we needed. But if you like a higher end room this resort is not for you. Recommendations for the resort. - opportunities to see the iguanas close up. They are not common for people coming from the north and they are fun to see. - more music playing throughout the day! The entertainment staff played music but more is always better! - the buffet was great at hot food but the cold food was never really cold enough - the rooms could badly use some updating but again the are functional

A solid 8 out of 10
THe bed was very comfortable! Rooms were a bit dated but we spent most of our time out of the room. Swimming was great, I loved the rock barriers in the water that broke the waves and allowed snorkeling or swimming. Seeing such calm wildlife was a big plus to. I love that the island rehabs wildlife and takes such good care of them! I definitely recommend mosquito spray to prevent any mosquito borne viruses. I was totally relaxed there and that was our goal!

If you ever read reviews, this is the one to do so!! Just don’t book here!! I typically discount the top and bottom ones as everyone has a different opinion. We stayed at sunscapes from Nov 23rd til 30th and I can say wholeheartedly that the bad reviews are TRUE!! Staff try’s their best within their very limited abilities. The place is dated, pics on website not as advertised. Our 2 rooms each had 1 shower door, one closet door and broken curtain rod. Not a huge deal, but cockroach in one of our rooms was uninvited and when complained about taken as nothing and nothing done about it. The Sun club is a joke so don’t pay any extra for it. Others that had family members in the Sun club would come over and use the pool and monopolize the bar. No beach or chair service - line up at the bar and wait No towels unless you get up super early. The sun club is at the other end of the resort from all restaurants, so if anyone has mobility issues, not good. Every time we went into discuss a matter with the sub club vip room, we overheard ppl complaining about the room they booked versus what they got. Never any resolution.They lost our luggage upon arrival and we had to go track it down after twice asking after it. Food is mediocre at best. Entertainment is karaoke at best and limited seats for said “entertainment “. Wifi is very spotting, lighting in our hallways was out and never addressed. Water from a flooded room 2 days in a row barely cleaned up and made walkways very slippery. I could go on but just save your money and don’t come. Hilton should fix this mess of a place.

Nov 25, 2024Do not fall into trap
Our first assigned room had a non-functional air conditioner, a missing shower door, and was not cleaned. We had to endure the first night without air conditioning. Additionally, the facility lacked an elevator, forcing us to carry our luggage up three floors. The next day, we were moved to another room, but on the day of checkout, the hot water stopped working, leaving us to take cold showers. The property looked nothing like the pictures on the website. We would never recommend this place to anyone.
