    Nice place but

Awesome place. Well laid out and well run. The only downside was the transportation to the Catamaran party cruise. Both coming and going involved being stuffed into an over crowded bus and dealing with at least 5 stops both ways. Much better bet is to take the Joy cruise right from the water front which is ironically not affiliated with St James club. Also. Awesome beach party Wednesday nites.

    Great value!

I believe the reasonable all inclusive price draws a more friendly, down to earth crowd, making for a really fun time. Food is very good but the guest rooms need updating. Still I would recommend this location in St Lucia.

    Good but dated

We tagged along with a couple who already had reservations at St James. We stayed for one week. Overall we had a great time but i'm not sure we would stay here the next time we visit St Lucia. The resort is very dated, especially the rooms and the food is average, The staff though was very friendly. The beach access is great and pools are nice. Pool bar is fun especially after 3PM. The water activities are plentiful and free. The gym is also nice with plenty of classes. Again, we had fun but would love to see them do some renovations. Going with 4 stars only due to staff, beach, activities and pools.

Ideal location in a beautiful setting, convenient to shops in Castries

We flew Virgin Atlantic on a package deal. The Management and Staff of this hotel take great pride in giving the best possible service to their customers. The location of the large site is well placed on Morgan Bay, being far enough from the bustling town of Castries to be private, but close enough to Castries by blue-number-plate-taxi for shopping. Worthy of particular mention are JJ, Bob, and the boys in the activities hut who go out of their way to look after you with towels, Hobie-Cats, body boards, pedalos, and all-day trips to the pitons by motorised catamaran via Joy's Cruises (Recommended). They will even put up an extra sunshade for you if you cannot find one., Ribs from the barbecue pit on the beach are a must for lunch if you fancy a change. Meals are tasty in the five main restaurants and any number of snack areas, and worthy of mention here is the Choc-Box, run by Gertrude and her small band of cheery ladies, which delivers delicious drinks and fancy treats (even small Cornish Pasties!) up until 1130 pm. It has to be said that some of the rooms could do with updating, but there is little to fault in this 4* hotel with 5* facilities (including five swimming pools!). However, with this in mind, I understand that some refurbishment is on the cards when the hotel closes for a month later this year. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in St. Lucia, and this hotel played a large part in that enjoyment. Overall we would rate this hotel as 'Very Good Value For Money'.

Amazing!! You HAVE to stay at this resort!

This was an amazing experience. I strongly recommend St. James' Club. Every single person that works there tries to make your experience better and better. From the front desk to the bars, water sports, restaurants, cleaning staff, maintenance crew, etc. They all have ready smiles/greetings, are happy to help, and probably a quick joke or funny reply. They all were so much fun to be around. By the end of the trip, I could walk around the resort and high five at least 8 different staff members and get a shout 'hello!' Such a wonderful experience with all of them. The restaurants offer a variety of amazing options. We loved the buffet restaurant because you really could choose whatever you felt like eating. There were at least 7 salad options (quinoa, leafy, fruit, etc), multiple meats, many beans/lentil options, plus the less healthy for you but fun carbs like rice/potatoes/macaroni, etc. at every meal. At the buffet, they would also be cooking specialty items on 3 separate grills. You have to try the grilled bread in the morning. The pizza place is to die for, especially the pizza. The pier has outstanding seafood. The beach grill had yummy burgers and brisket. And the bombay restaurant had views of the beach and sunset (as well as amazing food) that you cannot miss. Alaina, one of the wait staff, was such a sweetheart. All of the bars are fully stocked and quick to serve. The adult pool bar was so much fun. The person behind the bar was always full of jokes and laughing (Daniel and Claudia, especially), but they were all amazing). The adult pool bar also had a sunset and beach view that you cannot miss. The bar at the beach had amazing service all the time. The bar at the pools was quick service, even with nonalcoholic beverages. The bar at the end of the night, in the main entertainment building was staffed with 4 or more people and keeping up with the late-night rush with laughter and happiness. They made sure our drinks were always flowing. You have to try all of the water sports, even if you're afraid! They are really great teachers. Make sure you listen to them because they really know what they're talking about. The people staffing the water sports/teaching us were so funny. They have great senses of humor and love that you're trying new things. They taught me how to water ski! I learned on the 1st day and went back to keep skiing the rest of the trip. They taught us how to sail, as well. We paddle boarded and kayaked. It was all fun! I wanted to learn wind surfing, but after pool volleyball and beach volleyball, plus water skiing, I was too sore. haha The amazing staff that entertained us and ran all of the activities were so much fun! Dexter and his athletics classes and volleyball. Adam (he's in training) was such a nice person, always happy and joining in. Cory was funny helping our team win more points. Reggie was so funny! I could name them all because they were all amazing!! They were always happy to see us and if we wanted to do something or play something, they would make sure we had someone to compete with. Between all of the activities (we tie died shirts (bring your own shirt or buy one from them), played tennis, played ping pong, did pool aerobics, lots of volleyball, etc.) we hung out on lounge chairs under the trees or umbrellas on the beach or at the pool. There was never a problem finding places to sit. There were plenty of showers/feet washing stations, so you could walk around everywhere comfortably. The internet in the main entertainment area and the lobby was really fast. I could upload 20 of the highest quality images to social media in the blink of an eye, and did it a couple times a day. I kept my phone on airplane mode and was able to receive text messages via the internet, which was awesome. I had a plan to use international roaming, but never felt like I had to because the 2 locations were super convenient for us to use free wifi. We didn't even feel that we needed wifi in our bedrooms. The rooms were super comfortable. You could not hear any neighbors, just the birds outside in the morning. The cleaning staff kept our room super clean. We never felt like the floors had sand because they would wash them daily. We stayed in room 1044 and it was really comfortable and a great view. The walk up to the room could seem daunting, but the golf cart drivers were ready in the lobby to take us up in the blink of an eye. We rarely had to wait for one. If we did walk up, it was because we wanted to work off all the amazing food and drinks we had consumed. We did take a power strip for easy access to plugs, as recommended by past reviewers. It was a great idea. They were constantly keeping the resort looking amazing. They were painting and gardening all of the time. In the morning, they rake the seaweed off of the beach! The beach bbq party on Wednesday nights was setup and taken down so efficiently! It was such a fun event and they made it seem effortless. The people on stilts and the performers were awesome! We hired our taxi driver from the airport to take us on a few excursions around the island. You have to visit Pigeon Island... it was so much better than the Pitons (and only 20 minutes away from this resort). You should see the Pitons from the land, but the snorkeling was better and more relaxing at Pigeon Island. You need to try all of the types of mangoes and have a PBC (Passion fruit, banana, and coconut rum smoothies). Their local bananas are to die for! The coconuts too. There are a few stores in the airport to buy some rum on the way out of St. Lucia. You definitely need to try Bounty coconut rum. Definitely visit this island and stay at this resort! It's well worth your vacation time.
