St. James's guests have several choices when it's time to refuel. The Docksider is known as much for its panoramic water views and charming nautical decor as its Caribbean-inspired dishes. Thursday evenings feature steel-pan performers who turn up the heat with Caribbean Calypso music. Those who wish to dine in a more tranquil setting may do so at the resort's signature fine-dining restaurant, Piccolo Mondo. For casual dining, the informal Coco Beach Restaurant & Bar offers sea views and a selection of salads, soups, burgers, and pastas.
St. James's Club Resort & Villas has four lounges and bars. The Reef Deck bar beckons adjacent to the main pool. The two beach bars (Mamora Bay Bar and Coco Beach Bar) feature the resort's signature rum punch. A beach cart with soda, beer, rum, and fruit punch also provides refreshments to sun worshippers. The Jacaranda Lounge features nightly entertainment.
Two white-sand beaches offer a host of fun-filled activities. Coco Beach is like an aquarium for snorkelers, while the calm waters of Mamora Bay are ideal for swimming. St. James's Club provides complimentary non-motorized watersports such as kayaking, pedal boating, and catamaran sailing. Tucked into a quiet corner of the The Club area is the Tennis Center, with four hard courts and two artificial turf courts. Four courts are lit for night play.
Guests can also sunbathe, take a dip in six distinctive swimming pools, and succumb to the pleasures of a spa and salon. Spa Tranquility is an expansive and elegantly appointed hideaway for pampering and restorative treatments for the body and skin (fee). The seaside gym has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out at the ocean, providing an inspiring setting for workouts.
Young guests getting restless? The St. James's Club Kidz Club is situated in the heart of the resort overlooking Coco's Beach.

We have just returned from 10 nights in a Royal Suite. This was well worth the upgrade with our room being in a lovely location, very close to all the amenities whilst being quiet with a lovely view of the bay from the balcony. The room itself was large and comfortable with a great bathroom. This was also a child free zone with two pools and a bar which were very relaxing with great service. There were a few kids in the restaurants but were generally very well behaved. The food was plentiful and very good. Steak nights were favourite, with other dishes such as salmon and chicken available. Breakfasts were good with a huge amount of choice. The coffee shop had a lovely selection of goodies for a late afternoon snack as we seldom ate lunch, being too full from breakfast. The beaches. Memora Bay had beautiful views of the surrounding hills and offered a selection of water sports. My husband loved going back to his sailing days, taking out a hobbie most days. We rarely ventured to the other beach but did take a stroll along the sand to 11/11 restaurant one lunchtime. My only disappointment was the water quality for snorkelling. It was very sandy everywhere. This is of no fault of the hotel, just Mother Nature. There was an hours trip to go snorkelling on the reef, I did book but it was cancelled due to rough seas. It would be nice if this was a complimentary facility since to snorkel off the beach is not good. Would thoroughly recommend the half day Calypso cat trip. Very exhilarating and we visited areas which were good for snorkelling. Car hire was reasonable, we took a day and visited English harbour and the surrounding national park very reasonable entry fee too. Then went over to devils bridge. The staff at St James are brilliant. I never heard one surly word, just great people doing their best to please. To name a few, Farica, Sabyra, Judy Ann, Syr, Latoya and Sheena, you all were wonderful, however we wouldn’t wish not to congratulate all the staff for doing a fantastic job. We would not hesitate to return to St James. Sarah & Paul 210
Fantastic holiday in St James Club and Villas
Having seen some erratic reviews we were very sceptical for our holiday and nearly moved hotels based on these. However, prior to our stay reviews were encouraging and so we decide to stay at St James with 2 other members of our family. On arrival registration was quick and the duty manager took us to our upgraded room in a junior suite. The ocean view the following morning was fantastic. The Mamora Bay beach suited us and was stunning. Bars were a short few minutes away but the drinks buggy was also great and the pina colada was amazing and better than the bars. We ate in the Dockside restaurant generally and again was a wonderful atmosphere with wide choice of foods and themes. Nobody starved. The Ocean 11/11 we ate at lunchtimes and had lovely views and a good choice of food. The breakfasts were everything we could possibly wish for including prune juice which isn't a common request. They even had gluten free bread for one of our party. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Rooms were kept clean and We took cold water containers so filled up at the bars and breakfast which kept cool all day. We couldn't fault the holiday and after so any negative reviews it was far above our expectations. Many people were on visit 17 and so many were returning again and again. We have many happy memories and this hotel is a must for anyone thinking of visiting Antigua. Water sports are also included so we used these.
Amazing time, will return!
Went with a friend and had an amazing time. Look forward to taking my family next - hopefully next year! Best resort I have been to. Food was good, staff had great personality, drinks were good (I stuck mostly to sparkling wine but had some nice cocktails), pools were great and had fun on both sides of the waterfront. Would not recommend for anyone looking for a party atmosphere but it suited us late-30 year olds. Upgraded to a villa which was amazing - each had our own bathroom and bedroom and balcony was a wonderful place to have my latte in the morning. Coffee shop was great and various activities good as well. I cannot wait to return!
Very Very Disappointed - One to forget!
This was meant to be a dream holiday paid for by my late Mother. Sadly it was anything but. The accommodation was sub-standard , it took all of our first day to get moved. The put-up bed was delapidated and not fit to sleep on. The nicest restaurant was occasionally closed due to low occupancy and meals were served in the breakfast area which was canteen-like. The service overall was very slow,. It wasn't unusual to wait an hour for food. One waitress tutted when I asked to be seated saying "alright alright I'm coming.." She had a row with another guest who objected to her manner. This was not an isolated incident. The bars serve anyone who looks old enough with no procedures in place of checking to see if they are of legal age. My daughter was slapped in the face by a 16 year old boy she'd never met before who who was clearly drunk and not supervised by an adult. we witnessed teenagers being given drinks despite being underage. . The night club was supposed to be adults only but allowed children in, albeit with parents. The coffee shop closes at 11 and this became the hang out for a group of rowdy, unsupervised kids of an evening. Sadly this was one of the few places to get half decent wifi. I am taking all this up with Virgin. I'm sure this will get a very polite response assuring readers that these matters are isolated incidents and have been observed and improved on but we all know that's a standard way of trying to protect their hotel's reputation.
Great Water sports even when its windy cant wait to get back
One of my favourite hotels in the Elite Islands resort group. A really good 4* hotel with very friendly staff. We have been there many times and eventually bought a timeshare as many do because it just feels like home. Watersports and fishing are good if you like that kind of thing which I do. Lots to join in with during the day if you like that kind of thing but no pressure of you don't. Mainly British American and Canadian visitors as one would expect.
