Incredible views and amazing staff
We just got back from 5 days at Sonesta. The resort is breathtaking, the Azul restaurant and Edge pool in particular. We were there for a wedding and it was the perfect location. Delicious food and well-made cocktails. The staff were amazing and really made our stay special, remembering us and asking how things were going at every chance. Particularly Stephanie, Anita, Lauretta, Dido, Frank, and Jonathan. Thank you! Hope to come back!
Very nice resort - Don't listen to the negative reviews
First off, I am one of those travelers who really pays attention to reviews TO TRY to make a good informed decision on where to stay. There were some negative reviews that almost kept me from staying at Ocean Point. I am very happy that I disregarded the negative reviews because not only did I enjoy my stay very very much, I did not see ONE issue that came up or existed from people who were complaining. I'm sure there are people who experience an issue here and there, but complainers turn minor issues into major ones and downgrade the entire resort because these type of people are WAY too picky and are professional complainers. These are the people who complain that they only had 4 towels in their room when they wanted 5, or the resort only had Absolut or Stoli Vodka and they wanted Grey Goose. Stay home if you can't be pleased or hire your personal traveling butler to wait on you. The resort is beautiful and the grounds are well kept. Staff, and I mean ALL staff, were extremely polite and friendly; always said hi or good morning in passing. The food was really good and there were enough options to have different foods each night if you wanted to. The complainers say it's the same food every night. We went to 4 different restaurants and each had multiple types of food so unless you are staying for 3 weeks straight, you could not possibly have the same food. The location is perfect and it was very nice it is only 5 minutes from the airport. It was soooo neat to see the planes taking off and landing. The complainers say its obnoxious, well, don't stay at a place right next to an airport then if you don't like planes. These are the same people who build a house next to an airport then complain about the noise. Again, I was very happy with the resort and definitely will come back. The island itself still is not back to normal from the hurricane two years ago but at Ocean Point, things are really nice and I was very pleased!
EXCELLENT, ABOVE and BEYOND
I had the BEST time at Ocean Point. Spent 7 nights and we were looked after so well. All the staff was amazing and really deserved to be mentioned but i can remember them all. Attended the Chefs Night events "WOW" what a culinary experience, this together with the signature events which was really the highlights of this beautiful resort. A Big thank you everyone at the Resort. We will definitely come back.
Truly a luxury stay. The butler service was an extra nice touch. He got us reservations at the right restaurants. The food and service were wonderful. The planes above were cool to watch while enjoying a cold beer.
Originally I intended to book a week in Saint barth. However coming from another Caribbean French island is more difficult than coming from a bigger country in term of flight availability.. so I opted with regret to settle for Sint Maarten, Dutch side. To my surprise Sonesta Ocean Point Adult Only was up to my expectations!! I selected the roof top bedroom with butler services and ...wow.. it was splendid!! The room was far bigger than expected and came with a kitchen area included nespresso coffee machine fridge and cooler with ice. Prior to my arrival, my travel details were sent and I was to be picked from and drived back to the airport ($10 return from Juliana Airport). Upon arrival, welcome drinks are provided. Then the dedicated butler is introduced and a tour of the site is organised. Butler' services included amongst others, a personal GSM to call one's butler upon request and a selection of alcoholic beverage bottles, complimentary water bottles, juices etc. I really enjoyed these extra services!! Although I am not the most demanding person I do like impeccable services and the best endeavors were made to access my demands. For example, my breakfast was prepared the way I wanted, restaurant reservations made, treats were organised. Facilities: the two Sonesta resorts shared common facilities like swimming pools, restaurants, fitness room but the Ocean Point got reserved areas. Bracelets: Different colours enable guests to know which areas to access. Fitness room is excellent: water, fruits, towels, sanitary wipes are provided for free. Machines are in number so no queue. Bars and Restaurants: according to your likes, one of them should satisfy you. Closed by restaurants outside the resorts are also available within walking distance. Each of them carry a special atmosphere with live band music at night. Spa: nice and clean and treatments are a must! Beaches and swimming pool: choices are yours from the included one if you booked rooms on the lower floor to the more private ones... all is there.. and kabanas beds are there to relax! Wifi: no experience of bad connection but depending of the weather : bearing in mind that we are on an island. Falls: as the hotel was rebuilt after Maria's hurricane, the best have been done but some small leaking issues at reception might occur but not shadowing the relaxing time one can appreciate at the resort. Total: 9/10 I ll keep that resort as my getaway place to revitalize and experience excellence and quality. No regret and pleased to have discovered that 5 stars hotel! Keep it up!
