The only Secret here is how they do such a good job at keeping it a secret of how much this place actually sucks.
I do not write a lot of bad reviews but we went here on our honeymoon and had a terrible experience. The whole experience felt like being at a used car dealership- shady and always trying to upsell you. Why don't you just make it more expensive and have the whole resort be "preferred"? The solicitation at the pool was so annoying. Vendors would wake you up to ask about Parasailing and fishing. We also really thought it was so unprofessional that employees talk about guests in front of them because they think you are dumb gringos that can't understand that they are talking badly of you and other guests around you. I get gossiping- everyone does it but you better not do it in front of their faces and think you can get away with it. Hyatt advertises "World Class Service" - could not be further from the truth here. People were nice in some areas but the lack of communication was comical. Also the food is probably considered good to people who only eat fast food, but if you have any palate- it is actually awful. You have to wait forever at the restaurants, even when the property was not full. To me, the cost was so not worth it. We tried it to see how it was and deeply regretted it- i was counting down the days to get to go home because it was so awful. The drinks are all watered down and basically disgusting, don't expect to get an actual cocktail because they have no idea what to make. Ordered an old fashioned and got a margarita that basically just tasted like lemonade. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Beautiful beach though.

Fun time
Overall a very nice place! Friendly staff, decent food, plenty of sunshine! Wilkin the waiter was one of the best! He made us feel like family from the first time we entered the restaurant! We loved the rose petals he delivered to our table each morning with breakfast!

Very disappointing, worst holiday ever
Following up on my husband's 2* review written 2 weeks ago. Butler waste of time. Gimmick as quoted. I recommend you read his review thoroughly. We travel extensively. I'm only writing this because my lovely husband had forgotten to put the 2 reservations we had for dinner at Olio. 1st time with a reservation, there weren't any tables available. Why? Excuses. 2nd time with a reservation, no dinner there as it was closed. Why? More lame excuses. They're really good at excuses. Roberto hasn't replied to Trev's review nor will he bother to reply to mine. We've outsmarted him. An absolute sh*t show of a hotel but, if you like standing in the pool all day relaxing in its urine, spit and alcohol from the yanks, knock yourself out. Roberto, a non generic/personal reply would be welcome to both our reviews to let us know just what's being done to IMPROVE the guest experiences, but once you've read this, I suspect you'll keep scrolling.

Great family get away for 24
Pool was good and relaxing. We had to get there very early to "claim" lounge chairs for our very large group (i.e. 6:00 am). Restaurants were good for the most part and the French restaurant was amazing. Rooms were clean and comfortable and we had a nice pool view. They seem fairly up to date with a few minor blemishes but 9/10. Some of our more travelled family thought that the resort wasn't well maintained but I don't agree. Grounds were well kept and it's clean.

Vacation
It was very clean and maintained. Service was excellent. I would rate it a five star resort. We were very pleased with the food and nightly entertainment. The had extra entertainment than any resort that we have ever been to. We have been to twenty-one resorts.
