A lovely place for a romantic getaway!
Very nice resort with a lovely view of the ocean from upper levels (Junior King Suite Ocean View room). Rooms on ground level that had "swim up" access did not have a view of the ocean, and the pool that goes in front of those rooms is all connected to adjoining rooms (i.e., not private). Resort was clean and seemed well maintained; staff was wonderful and attentive. Check-in process was a little wonky. Be sure to inquire about airport transfers and whether or not it is included in your reservation. There are many restaurants and bars to chose from with lots of variety. Breakfast buffet was huge and delicious options. Restaurant food was good but I wouldn't call it stellar. It was more about the atmosphere! If you waited until peak meal times to go to a restaurant, it could take a while to get served. Main pool is large and nice, but got crowded during the day. We went in early October for a wedding, and it was too hot to sit out in the sun and the water was too warm for my liking, but it was nice early and later in the day. Beach is beautiful and good for walking, but not swimming due to strong currents/undertow. There is a nice beach deck, beach bar with swings, and lounge chairs under palapas so you can sit in the shade and look out at the gorgeous ocean and get a breeze. There are lots of fun activities offered and I did yoga on the beach deck (shaded) and also went on a Bike & Beach tour and swam at a lovely calm, sandy beach on the other side of the marina nearby. You could probably drive there too, but it may be too far to walk (uphill one way). Spa was excellent - clean, lovely atmosphere, hydrotherapy pool, cold plunge pool, jacuzzi hot tub, steam, sauna, various massage offerings, etc. A lovely way to spend some time relaxing! Make reservations early, as times fill up fast. Be sure to check out the town of San Jose del Cabo, especially the main square behind the church, where a weekly Art Walk is held every Thursday night from 5-9pm. Lots of interesting art and cute shops and restaurants up and down the side streets off the main square.

Extreme Sickness
Second time there. Resort is beautiful hence our return. 7/10 of us got extremely sick. We spent days in our rooms unable to leave. We never left the resort so it must have been the food or pool drinks. We’ll never go back. I would recommend brushing teeth with bottled water and not drinking glasses of water. Be very careful!

Hibachi fun
Himitsu was such a fun experience. You do have to make a reservation the day before but it is definitely worth it. Manny and Charlie (Miguel and Carlos) were so nice and made the experience memorable. If you plan to stay at secrets you should definitely try out the hibachi experience.

go to DR next time
For what I pay for could’ve went to the DR twice and had more fun. Staff was not friendly did not go out of their way to provide help. The average did not speak. English did not know where to go. Yes, Columbia will be back. Next vacation had to use 200 letters

Beautiful place and amazing experience
Incredible experience from the service to the good to the location. Few complaints such as pillows, humidity in room, beer options, music selection. These are not by any means a reflection of the trip we had. Everything else was incredible and we would love to come back and would highly recommend to anyone!
