Great once again
We have just returned from a ten night stay at Secrets Maroma. This was our second vist, the first two yeaqrs ago in June. Once again the staff are the star of the show. We found the the food, especially at breakfast and lunch was great. Lots to choose from. There is a theme everyday for outside dining and the effort that goes into this is amazing. The entertainment staff are so friendly and it looks like they really enjoy what they are doing. The beach is gorgeous and the workers work very hard to clear the seaweed, which there actually wasn't much of at all. The gardens are beautiful and a big shout out to all the gardeners that work in the heat to make our surroundings heavenly. As I have said the staff are really what makes this place. We did see a few friendly faces from our last visit. Rene you are a star. Pool and beach waiter. As is Alberto who kept us topped up with beer and prosecco. Roberto & Freddy in the buffet restaurant. Always a pleasure as is all the buffet staff waiters & chefs. All the preferred Club beach lounge staff were fantastic,as was Mauricio and Miguel pool concierge. Thank you to Elmer & chef Franseco who made me a lovely birthday special evening dinner at the Asian restaurant on our last night. Last but not least the star of the show Miguel, Block 16 concierge. Thank you so much for making my birthday very special and the surprise late check out. So very much appriated. We may return soon hopefully.

Over the top again and again!!
My husband and I returned again for another year of being pampered by the most wonderful friendly, caring staff. Our housekeepers Juana, morning and I believe Naomi, evening, room 2444, kept us well stocked and kept our room, clean, and especially welcoming at night after coming home to find our bed turned down, robes on the bed, slippers beside the bed, ice bucket filled, piece of chocolate, and one night a long stemmed rose. Those girls are great! Thank you. Pedro took care of us in the ice cream department, with his ice cream truck. That was a new treat for us.😀 Uriele took great care of us every night in the Sugar Reef bar. The music group that played in the Sugar Reef one night was great, hope they are back next time. Music and casino games in the lobby bar were fun. My only complaint. I know that groups and conventions are a great money maker for you but when they start to interfere with the couples who are there for relaxation and romance. Boisterous groups sure can put a damper on that. One evening Mi-TM was there and their ra-ra cheerleading talks and speeches certainly were not conducive to romantic dinner conversation in the steak restaurant. Would be nice if you could change or improve that.

Unforgettable Beaches, Unbeatable Service, Secrets Maroma Has It All
We have been wanting to visit Secrets Maroma for a while, and it was absolutely worth the wait! The white sand beach is stunning no seaweed or rocks and the resort’s welcoming vibe and amazing staff made our stay unforgettable. We stayed in the Preferred Club Suites and had Roger as our personal concierge. He was friendly, calming, and made sure everything was perfect. The Preferred Club staff was incredible. They made us feel so special and served up the best drinks. Bernardo surprised us with so many creative, delicious drinks that we loved! Mauricio took great care of us on the beach, and Issac gave an excellent welcome presentation with helpful recommendations. We loved it so much we even upgraded our UVC membership! The resort is spacious, the food is fantastic, and to top it all off, the team made my birthday an unforgettable experience. Our only regret is not staying longer. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this resort!

Phenomenal Staff at Secrets Maroma!
Secrets Maroma has so much to offer..... a fabulous beach, a beautiful and clean pool area, lots of activities, a great coffee shop (frozen coffee..delicious) and scrumptious food. One of the best things about Secrets Maroma is the staff, from the head bellman, Alberto , Cindy in reservations to the group coordinator, Raquel! I am a travel advisor and it was my pleasure to work with the entire staff! They were all phenomenal! Thank you!

Sercets Maroma - 5th visit!
5th visit to Secrets Maroma. Excellence expected and received. As usual, Roger Arroyo, our concierge, was top notch! Agnel (Portofino Restaurant), Miguel and Bernadina (sp) at El Patio restaurants excellent! Food was superb in the Portobelo, El Patio, Bourdeau and La Tereza specialty restaurants. We specially like the new items at El Patio and La Tereza. The Canolli, pasta and risotto at Portobello was heavenly. We stayed at the Preferred Club beach everyday. Beach and Bar staff were terrific. The beach was very well maintained and the view terrific. The beach is the best place if you want a relaxing stay. Around the pool, you have to get there before 10 am if you want chairs. It's a party atmosphere around the pool as the Entertainment crew do their best for the guests. We went to the Mexico Night and St Patrick's Day Show and Dinner. If you purchase a bottle of wine, you get front row tables and seats. Wine bottles start at $80 USD. You will have a table size for your party. So my wife and I had a table for 2, right up front. If you did not want the bottle service, you could still enjoy the buffet dinner and show and sit at a communal table of 8. We have done that previously. As there was only 2 of us, the solo table up front was worth a bottle of wine. All of the shows were terrific. We noticed that there were more shows and entertainment this year compared to previous years. The Silent Disco is our favourite late night activity. Every guest wears wireless noise cancelling headsets with 3 channels of different musical tastes. So there was something for everyone! Last year, they only had 2 nights of silent disco. I had recommended that they increase the nights of Silent Disco. This year there were 3 nights on one week! We were last ones on the dance floor every night! Went to the gym twice. There were some new machines, and they were installing a new bench press, literally, as we were working out. Ulises, the gym instructor, was very helpful in demonstrating some exercises for us. New for this year was a Peloton bike. I recommended that last year and they got one! Now I recommend they get a second Peloton bike. With one bike, my wife and I had to take turns, which prolongs our gym time. I am sure other couples will have this same issue. We had in-room breakfast every morning. No need to get dressed and go to the buffet for breakfast. And every room has a Secret Box by the front door. Optional to deliver your food and drink orders into the Secret Box so you can maintain your room privacy. This is much like the old Milk Boxes that we grew up with in Canada. We stayed in a Preferred Room, which gives you access to the Preferred Club beach, restaurant, bar and lounge. The rooms are right next to the beach and the pools. More expensive, but worth the extra $ for us. Security is outstanding. There is a 3 to 4 minute drive on a private road from the main highway to the hotel. Along the way are 3 security guard gates. They write down the name of the driver, license plate and reason for being there at each gate. The last gate is a Double Door 12 foot high old school wooden gate attached to 12 foot high stone walls the go from the road and into the jungle. So we felt very safe and secure. Overall our favourite vacation destination. Will be back next year!
