Good for a girls trip but they need to crank the AC

Just returned from a girls trip and the food, drink and service were on spot. However, the restaurants and lobby barely had any AC! We were sweating while eating dinner! While I know it will be hot in Mexico but the ac was barely working! The Spa was amazing ! I highly recommend Naomi however... there is a massage hut right off to the right of the resort beach and they are amazing as well!

    Just returned from Secrets Capri

My wife and I really enjoyed the property and staff! We booked an oceanfront suite, we were on the 1st floor and the room and view were very nice. We stayed in room 158 and their were a few things that needed to fixed, but it was not a big deal to us. It just shows that the resort is a little older and some things needed maintenance. For example in our room the black out curtains did not close all the way so the sunrise would light up the entire room at 6am, and our patio door outdoor handle was broken completely off so we would have to use our fingers to reach in and slide the door open from the outside. On a whole we loved the property, we were there for 4 nights. The beach did have some seaweed, but the resort works very hard to keep it as clean as possible. The resort does a much better job that the surrounding resorts as far as keeping the beach clean. We went on walks along the beach and Secrets Capri has the nicest beach in the area. The food was great, we never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table.Daniel the pool and beach concierge is a great guy who wants to help with anything you need. Luis and Victor made our romantic beach dinner extra special. they went above and beyond for us. also Anna at the hotels concierge desk was very helpful and remembered our names every time she saw us. All in all great place, with good food, and a pleasant staff. We really enjoyed the time there.

    Amazing Experience

Words can't explain how great of a experience my fiance and I had at this resort. The staff blew our minds with how hard they work and the amazing service they provide. Food and drinks were fantastic! Juan at the pool side bar made some awesome drinks and had the best personality! Christopher who is part of the entertainment group was hilarious and so much fun we loved to be around him and be involved in his activities! Martha was our housekeeper and she did a superb job keep our suite clean, stocked, and organazied! The beach and ocean are not very usable but, they have staff working SO HARD to clean it up the best they can for visitors to use! The nightly entertainment was great and we looked forward to it each night! Secrets Resorts are breathtaking and we look forward to our next stay with them!

    Small but nice

This is the smallest resort I have ever been to. Only 290ish rooms. The food was good, service was awesome...except at the did have to wait sometimes for your drinks. I do wish there was more music/Dj at the pool but it’s ok. We stay at AM resorts all of the time. I do like that there are no reservations. One thing that did suck was our room temperature...never got below 73. They did bring us a fan and that is the only way I was actually able to sleep. Room service was awesome as always. The spa was amazing. Ask for Coral...I had 2 massages and I had her for the last one...wish I had her for the first. The hydro therapy area is a must as well. We did a walk about 20 minutes north on the beach to a lagoon/river that met the sea. It was spectacular and you should really do it as well. We also took the free shuttle to playa de Carmen...not worth it what so ever. Take a taxis. The ride there was 2 hours plus the 2 stops...needless to say we took a taxis home. My husband and I will only come back here to this resort if it’s cheap...the food was good, drinks were great but it is lacking the fun by the pool. I think it’s mainly for older couples who want to relax...we are 40 and it was a bit too chill for us 😊🥰🇲🇽 Shout out to Jonathan who was our housekeeper. He is the bomb and made our stay special. XO saved my husband’s butt for our Anniversary so that is awesome. Overall it was an awesome trip. 🥰

Honest review from a person with reasonable expectations.

We went to Secrets Capri July 21-28. We went along with 5 of our closest couple friends. We chose this resort because of budget but also because of the parent family. We have loved the Dreams(LaRomana) and Now(Jade) resorts we have previously stayed in so we only looked under that umbrella. Our demographic is 35-40. We have all been married for 10+ years. We all have lots of kids. We went looking to spend quality time with our spouses and our friends. We like to play and relax. We like good drinks and great food. We like not having to plan anything and do what we want on vacation when we feel like it. RESORT We liked this resort. It was not my all time favorite but I will get to all the pros and cons. The resort itself is WONDERFUL! It is small which is perfect for us! All 6 couples got different room levels and the walk from room to room was not bad. I personally love the smaller resort where you can get anywhere in a five minute leisurely walk! The other thing I love about a smaller resort is LESS PEOPLE! It never felt crowded and you never had trouble finding a chair on the beach or by the pool! Also we never waited for a table at any restaurant. But also we didn't feel as though it was missing an amenities. It was very clean and well maintained. ENTERTAINMENT First off the entertainment team was really good. A little heavy handed on making things "sexy" but all good fun. (Do NOT volunteer for the Newlywed game if you get embarrassed easily) Bernice runs that place. She makes it fun! We LOVED Yuri. She was newer I think but she was so fun and sweet and really made us feel welcome at each activity we did with her. Yuri was for sure our favorite and made our vacation feel more "at home". There is always something to do if you are an activity kind of person. With a smaller resort it feels less crowded at the activities also! BEACH Yes there was seaweed. Duh. Google it. It is a problem beyond this resort. They work hard to clean it up. The beach was really nice with plenty of seating and shade. If you sit to the far right by the volleyball court you might even get to be in a wedding or 5. (There seriously were 5 the 6 nights we were there.) The beaches do have a few vendors that walk up and down. It is not to an annoying degree and we actually bought a few nice, cute, and cheap things for our kids. Just say a friendly no thank you and they do not pressure you. The sand is white and wonderful and the ocean view is beautiful. You can see Cozumel and the cruise ships in the distance. There was an almost constant ocean breeze that felt like a dream. We hung out on the beach a ton! SERVICE Overall the service here was good but not great. There was not the sense of joy of service we have previously experienced. It felt like it was a job and we were treated as if it was there job. I know I know. It is their job. But in other places we have stayed they seemed genuinely happy to help. Nobody was mean or unpleasant but there was not that standard of excellence we have felt at other parent resorts. However there were a few standouts that really made our trip. Karen the hostess at the buffet greeted us warmly every morning and just ran that place with ease and a welcoming nature. We ate at the Asian restaurant 3 times and Efrain was our waiter each time. He was wonderful. He was attentive and knowledgeable. Hugo was SO MUCH FUN! He remembered our names and made us feel like we special! The absolute best part of the entire resort though was Sosa. He was on beach service while we were there. That guy. I can not say enough! Find him. He was so attentive and fast. He remembered exactly how we liked our drinks and there were 12 of us! One afternoon on the beach we were waiting and waiting and someone remarked that it wasn't Sosa's best day. Well sure enough awhile later a DIFFERENT server came up to get our order. Sosa was on break. We spent a lot of time on the beach and Sosa really made our vacation better. He was friendly, professional, quick, and had a great memory! He should be in charge of training all the servers on excellent customer service! I am not kidding when I say our whole group would have rated this place down a star with out him! RESTAURANTS Overall the food was good. Some of it was great. Some of it was not. But if you get something you do not like order something else. The Cactus Club on the beach was WONDERFUL! The ceviche was spectacular! The Asian place was REALLY good. Every place had things we loved and things we didn't. NOW Jade was much better food wise but nothing was terrible. The buffet was smaller but really good! You order room service on a little tablet which is AWESOME! We never waited to get a table at any place! ROOMS They are nice. They are clean. They are pretty! If you upgrade to ocean VIEW just know you might have to walk on your balcony to actually see the ocean. Two of the couples had Ocean Front and they were awesome! Overall we had a wonderful time and this place is small in a great way. It is clean and fun. If the food was more consistent and Sosa trained all the staff to his level of service we would for sure go back. AS it stands we will call and see if Sosa still works there and if he does we will return for sure!
