I should start this review by highlighting the amazing service that we experienced during our 7 day vacation. Every member of the staff was outstanding, however there were a couple that made our stay exceptional! Our hostess Rousse made certain that our every need was catered to, and she was so pleasant we actually hated to leave her! Sergio from the Portofino Restaurant secured all of our dining reservations and checked on us throughout the week. These two were truly exceptional and set the tone for all of the other amazing staff members. The service was off the charts in a positive way, the food was very good and we dined at Portofino 2x, Boudreax, Blue Tuna, and Meza in addition to the breakfast buffets and room service - zero complaints and many great experiences! There are a number of pools to choose from and they are all exactly what you need! The beach was also a great experience ... I highly recommend the private cabana for the day. The rooms are clean and the ac is cold! The beds are comfortable and there is plenty to do within the resort. I will certainly be returning just as soon as possible!

Everything was great enjoyed the stay. They have very good food and I liked it because we could go to Dreams Resort also. It was a great stay. They recognized my birthday.

Jun 14, 2025The Service & Staff Make this a MUST BOOK! Efrain, Vanessa & Shayla are THE BEST Pool Concierges!
The shining star of this resort is in the staff and service! Everyone is so kind, helpful and knowledgable. At the Preferred Pool- our Pool Concierge- Shayla, Vanessa and Efrain went out of their way to make sure we had a special Wedding Anniversary and all the support we need! They are reason enough to come back over and over- pay them more and promote them to manager! Our butler, Joaquin, was helpful with pressing our clothes and delivering breakfast every morning! He coordinated a special hot tub experience in our room, and also gave us some wise marital advice when we asked for it “don’t worry about what you cannot control.” THANK YOU! The resort overall is very large, so be prepared to walk a bit- but everything is located centrally. And while Secrets is an adults only resort- and does have dedicated adults only spaces- the restaurants (buffet coffee cafe and certain event/entertainment) and family pools are located and shared with Dreams the family side. You can curate a personal private experience by sticking to the adults spaces- but you WILL see children and hear them. Not a huge issue for us, but if you’re seeking intimate private romantic adult vibes- just be aware. We would come back with our kiddos for sure- it’s 80% full right now, but does NOT feel packed and at about 10pm every night gets quiet and the fun can be found in a speakeasy secret club in the back of the sports bar (opens at 11pm!). It’s wedding season but you don’t see the weddings- they’re all tucked away- and the vibe is non spring break like- more chill late 20’s, over 30’s + energy. We’re checking out Sayulita for some fun later- but highly recommend staying here for balance and restoration. We also felt VERY safe and secure through all of Puerto Vallarta- on and off resort. The culture, people, and experience is beautiful and wonderful and we’ve been coming to Mexico for ten plus years. Please support this country and visit and tip generously (not required, or forced, but appreciated and kind): As a popular blogger, podcaster and author- I could go anywhere and have the brand sponsor me- but I gladly book and pay to stay here- and the value exceeds the cost. Average resort, lacks staff hospitality and accommodation. Main focus is hustling for time share instead of guest experience. Only went wedding purpose with family and friends. This resort is not for a week gateway into paradise. They solely prioritize on weddings and event gatherings. Lacks pool entertainment and selections . Very bland and average food. Nothing stands out than the rest. Layout of the resort is very confusing and congested . Not very refreshing ..

Great vacation - great resort!
We had an amazing stay at this resort. We have been to 5 or 6 different all-inclusive properties in Mexico and this was by far the best. Grounds were beautifully kept, staff was polite and attentive and the food was the best we have experienced at ANY resort. Went with 4 other couples and we all agreed that we will be back! We all did the zipline tour and it was a blast! Alfredo and his team did a wonderful job of keeping us all safe and entertained. Another highlight was renting the Yuberta cabana on the beach one day. It was beautiful and our waiter took care of our every wish all day long!
