Worst trip to Mexico of my life
For starters, don’t expect your room reservation to be honored. We went with a group of couples and three of us had swim up ocean view rooms. None of us got them and the check in folks tried to gloss over that until we called their attention to it. Bathrooms were moldy and gross. Room was not clean when we got there. As well as half drank water bottles in the mini fridge. There were ZERO towels to be found anywhere on the resort. And when I went to the front desk to complain about it I was met with an argumentative and rude supervisor. Our friends room leaked when it rained. The paths are covered in litter and room service dishes that stay out for days. The food was basically pig slop. If it wasn’t way over cooked or freezer burned then it had no seasoning. And if you are a vegetarian, good luck of the 11 hot dishes maybe one of them would have only vegetables. The cold bar barely had anything, half the fruit would be gone by 9:30 and not replaced. The counters were sticky and unclean. And outside of one waiter no one cares about their tables. The desserts got eaten by birds as they were not covered. And there are basically 3 places to eat none of which are very appetizing. Other things to expect. Conserve your water because the turndown service doesn’t adequately refill the mini fridge. The paths are incredibly slippery and poorly lit to the point where I slipped trying to get down our staircase. The only shining star on this trip was Arbey he is awesome and I hope he can find a better hotel to work for because this one is an absolute dud. 0/10 stars would not and will not ever recommend this dump of a hotel. This was our 5th time in mexico and I cannot express enough how disappointed we were with everything.

Good
Lucky we had quiet week. Were able to use sister property Sunscapes buffet, ok as food at restaurants Secrets French ok, and Oceania...not good. Room service good. Beds great, staff great, room a little stuffy as all are near water. Nice room in quiet side far from beach, but still had view, but ocasionally too noisy for a few hours. Attended Vacay Club presentation. got $250...nice and final offer is another vacay 1/2 price is VERY GOOD OFFER. Dreams, next door better food, but we cannot eat there. Might stay there nk time. Paid $1600 Best dinner Windows filet and apple pie. All restaurants serve small, but ok portions and no coffee or dallying at table....move on as someone probably waiting to get in. Go to liquor/coffee bar and @Sunscapes.

Great stay
Overall this was a great stay. The Secrets rooms were very spacious. I rated it a four because the place could use some updates which I guess are in the near future. There was no conditioner available. The positive side is the entertainment. Arbey is amazing. He had volleyball, bingo, blackjack cards, bands, and Mayan dancers.

Beautiful scenery, Amazing staff!
Lots of pros and cons: Pros: -Wonderful staff! Arbey is an incredible event coordinator who has the best energy and made every day at the pool engaging and fun! We had a blast getting to know him and really enjoyed the night activities he hosted as well. Vididiana was our bartender/server every afternoon at the pool, she is kind, attentive and all around wonderful. -Gorgeous Scenery! Beautiful clear water, had a BLAST jumping off the pier and snorkeling around the property. Cons: -Our rooms were VERY musty and old. Our friends had a renovated room and it was really nice-I think I would have paid preferred if I knew that was the room I would get. Our room had cracks in the bathroom wall and when it rained our bathroom flooded (3 times). We were told there were no rooms we could move to. Our bags and clothes smell very musty and unfortunately have to wash everything, even the stuff we didn’t wear. -The pool and pool deck was never cleaned. We played bingo on Friday and on Wednesday there was still the same beans all over the pool deck. Sand and dirt all in the bottom of the pool. I know it’s outside with lots of trees and people in and out from the beach but it was very obviously not cleaned or vacuumed daily. -The food was meh. I know resorts aren’t always known for their food but I wish there was salt and pepper available. Instead I was given two little bowls of salt and pepper-who knows who has stuck their fingers in there. No thanks. Overall, we had a blast because we made it fun and met a lot of wonderful people. Would I go back? No. We spent a lot of money and I hate that I had to stay in a smelly rainy flooded room all week.

Nice week in the sun
After reading some reviews, we were a bit concerned. We opted for a Preferred room and I believe this made the difference in enjoying our stay. There was even a guy walking the preferred beach making sure everything was going well. We mentioned some missing towels and water bottles and they appeared when we returned to the room. Preferred guests get more options-beach, dining, bars and separate front desk area. Highly recommend. The Good: Great beach location, love the sunsets! Great snorkeling at the resort! The diving is great! By and large the staff was very friendly and helpful. Special mention to: Luis Maitre'd at many restaurants; Dolores at the Sushi restaurant; Ricardo at Market Cafe; Arixena at the coffee shop; Yelana at Ocena; and our favorite was Eugenia at the Preferred beach-friendly, efficient and attentive. I overheard another guest complementing her service and smile. The OK: The air conditioner broke, but was repaired promptly. We did not get the room type we requested, but happily took what was offered. None of the restaurants had great food, all just fine. They try hard with food presentation. The shower wand would not turn off, just wasted water, I never remembered to tell anyone about it. The Bad: No reservations at the restaurants for dinner, sometimes we waited well over and hour. They really need a restaurant reservation system. I heard many guests complain about this. No curtains on the bathroom window, they are frosted for privacy. Problem is a bright light outside that shines through the bathroom into the bed room. A quick unscrew of the bulb as we went in the for night solved the issue. In order for the dive boat to pick up or drop off at the pier, you needed to pay $10.00 daily for a wrist band, kind of petty. All in all, a nice week in the sun:)
