Wonderful Family Resort - Would Stay Again
This was a perfect family resort! I would definitely stay here again. The food was great and plenty of activities for the entire family. The pools were beautiful and the beach was amazing. There really is not anything negative I can say about this place! Loved it!
We had a wonderful time staying at the Seadust Cancun! Manuel was the first awesome bartender we met. He made the best shots, so we always went to where he was. Piano bar, casino bar, sports bar, where ever he was, we went. You must try a jelly fish from him! Jesus in the casino bar also took great care of my friends. Luis in the splash bar kept me hydrated during my evening walks on the beach. The kids loved ziplining, mini golf and rock climbing. Thank you Manny and Daniel for helping the kids have a great time!
The food its no good, expensive prices in others services. Somwheres hotel needs maintenace, the staff atencion very good, a very bad experience is the recepcion staff offering vacacional plans they absorb to much time.
Second time visiting this resort and it was great.
We stayed in an Oceanview room with a hot tub on the balcony. The food is good and the service is exceptional. Manny and the crew in the Mini Put/Zip Line area gave our 6 year old son a thrilling time on the zipline. J.Ramon in the Buffet worked tirelessly every day to provide everyone with a great dining experience. The beach is groomed daily and the pool was fantastic. The kids waterpark was a highlight both times for our son. Highly recommended for families!!
My husband and I were put up at this hotel by United Airlines after a cancelled flight along with 200+ others. It is directly in the hotel zone. You have to wear a wristband which gives you access to everything including your room. Initially it seemed alright with a large airy check-in lobby and delicious welcome lemonade. That's where the positivity ended. The entire place looks and feels on the inside like a giant cruise ship. Rooms on the exterior with metal rails just like a cruise ship. It is open air in the middle -- there is no AC because it is completely open to the elements which makes it very hard to stay cool. There are just a handful of places that are enclosed. The lobby has a fragrance spray pumped out to cover the nasty smell you find once you walk through the lobby where all of the restaurants are. There are little bridges with water in the middle. Don't look too closely at anything - it's all falling apart. They have zip ties holding up the lighting along the edges of the water features, corroded chunks sitting in the water, etc. Furniture is worn out, dingy and dirty everywhere. Elevators - The elevators are a nightmare. It is a massive hotel with not nearly enough elevators and one of the two was out of service so you had one section of the hotel using just one elevator. It took over 15 min to get to the 11th floor (there are 12). They are not air conditioned either. Room - We were in 1126. We got to the room and we couldn't have been more disgusted. Shiny Black lacquered furniture and a giant tub like we are in a porn movie. The finishes were terrible, dingy and dinged up. There was a big hole on the bedspread and two big stains. We were honesty afraid to touch much of anything. There are no closets in the room, everything is in the bathroom which is an odd layout. The shower has two glass doors that come together on a rail - it was all corroded and the drain was full of mold. The shower head is a giant system attached to the shower wall, it is not properly plumbed into the tile and very slow water pressure. We were so hot and tired I risked going into the shower but not without shower shoes. The toilet was also clogged. Also, the Do Not Disturb button does not work on the outside. We had two cleaning ladies try to come in. The first one knocked and went away, but the second one literally just walked into the room!! Unacceptable. What if myself or my husband were indisposed? I had thankfully just gotten dressed after my shower. Not even a knock. We looked outside and it turned out that the do not disturb light is broken. It shows red on the inside of the room, but only the cleaning light works on the outside. I wouldn't take a bath in that jetted tub if you paid me a million dollars. There were drops of paint, crayon/pen and it was incredibly beat up and nasty. The tiles in the room are not installed evenly so you stub your feet (I refused to walk barefoot) so I wore socks and the chair wobbled because of the uneven tile. They have a bathmat on either side of the bed, but who knows how sanitary that is -- it's clearly been used a lot so we moved those. There is a balcony and that gives you an obscured view of the water/beach so that was the only highlight. Room service - The menu is just one piece of laminated paper that was nasty and grimy. It is offered 24/7, but it is very limited and breakfast must be ordered by using your door hanger and placing it outside by 3 a.m. Food and Bar - Drinks were TERRIBLE. Ordered a vodka tonic and it was so watered down and tonic was flat served in a beat up dingy plastic cup. There is no seating at the bar tops either. We left our drinks they were so bad. We tried the lobby bar next and that was served in a glass and slightly better but no Smirnoff, no Stoli. We were told that there was an indoor Karaoke bar on the 1st floor (ground floor is all considered Lobby where most of the restaurants/bars are). We went up and it was a trainwreck and decided to try their "Fun Bar" on Floor 2 which was supposed to be open until 2 a.m. We were told by several staffers including the lobby desk that it was open but we couldn't get in. Mind you were also waiting for at least 10 min trying to just get from Floor 1 to Floor 2 at the elevators. The elevator bank also had a GIANT hole in the wall above the elevator buttons. We were a little afraid to eat there to be honest because everything was so gross, old and dingy. They do have a Starbucks in the lobby which is not included. We paid 9 USD for a Grande Latte and Grande Mocha. Same as what it would cost here in the USA. Everything was closed when we tried to find breakfast so you need to get up and out early to get breakfast. The only restaurant that is open for lunch is their lunch buffet. You can also get 'snacks' at the pool. Pretty much everything else inside was closed until 4 p.m. which made escaping the heat very difficult. The management clearly wants you OUTSIDE. They also are clearly not giving you a true all-inclusive if hardly anything is open, effectively giving you only dinner inside. We just wanted to find a place to stay cool. Not even the sports bar was open, but you could go inside and sit. The buffet was so nasty. Terrible fried and soaked in sauces -- super cheap food. Someone else said it's worse than the Golden Coral - never been there but I would agree that it is awful. I was so hungry so I tried to find some 'safe' food. 30 Min later I got sick. I asked for a beer and instead of a fresh cold beer, it was lukewarm at best and served in a plastic cup which was clearly not cleaned properly as someone else's lips were on there. Summary: Mostly families were at this hotel. There is a castle at the very front of the hotel which is a water park. The security to get into the resort is questionable. The demographic was mostly europeans and hispanics. Kids probably don't mind at all, but I don't know how any adults could be happy with this place. Bottom line is that the whole place should be shut down and given a complete gut and remodel. This is a two star resort at best. Four stars is a complete joke.
