Family Vacation in Cabo San Lucas – Sandos Finisterra
We stayed at Sandos Finisterra, a beautiful resort with great views and a friendly staff. Overall, the resort had a pleasant atmosphere. Pros: • Food was an 8/10, offering a good variety and quality. • The resort has 4 pools, providing plenty of space to relax. • Very close to the city and marina, making it convenient for strolling around town since there isn’t much to do on-site. • Public washrooms were very clean, which was a nice touch for a resort. • Jasmin and Cruz at Emiliano’s restaurant were very helpful and kind, making the dining experience even better. Cons: • The resort is on the smaller side, which may feel limiting for some. • There are only 4 restaurants: a buffet, an Italian restaurant, and a steakhouse. • The entertainment/shows were subpar and could be improved. • March weather was on the chillier side; it’s better to book in April for warmer temperatures. - not much to do for kids. Kids club very small. Recommendation: • Upgrade to the Elite package for a better room experience. • Entry-level rooms are outdated—instead, try booking the Finisterra rooms, which are much better. Would I return? Possibly, but I might also explore other resorts in Cabo next time.

Good and bad
Good- The staff, the pools, food, and the bars were outstanding. The location and beach are postcard perfect. Whales were breaching right off the shore within eyesight distance. Bad- The rooms need serious updating. The two separate rooms we rented did not have headboards for the beds, the pullout couch was old and dirty, and the bathrooms had chips and cracks in the tile and caulking that had been redone several times with decay, and ground-in dirt. The shower itself was equipped with shampoo and body wash only, both were subpar, along with the very hard water left you feeling like you never showered at all. When we checked in, the staff in the business office was not welcoming and was not friendly. They failed to tell us that we needed to contact our “Butler“ to make any type of reservation for a canopy or a restaurant. The office could not explain the extra charges she was charging us upon check in and we found out later it was the “Mexican taxes“, room damage deposit, and airport transfers through their vendor, “Seek and Go”. We rented a JSOV and a JS. Both rooms had great views of the ocean. The interesting part is the JS had an unobstructed view of the ocean and the JSOV was obstructed by the palm trees and palapa. Both rooms seemed the same size and both had a king and queen bed. Not happy that they let activity vendors inside the compound near the ground floor entrance to the pool and the 7th floor restaurant area to try to sell you their adventure. If I want to be pandered to I’ll walk 5 steps off the property and deal with a vendor.

One of our best visits to Finisterra.
Great menu change for Tortuga restaurant. We like to eat there for the quiet atmosphere and ocean view. The food was delicious. We especially liked all the different seafood. The entrees with filet of beef were prepared perfectly. At lunchtime Jasmine was very friendly and attentive server. Hector served us at dinner and was literally reading my husband’s mind replacing his tequila before he had to ask. Very nice young man. Dinner was excellent. My Tortuga salad and fresh Mahi Mahi delicious. Overall food has improved significantly especially the beef dishes. Francisco in the lobby bar is a great bartender making a delicious dirty martini and keeping my husband happy with his favorite tequila.

Cabo wedding vacay
Mario in the Agave Restaurant is exceptional in every way!! Extremely friendly and curtious! We look forward to returning because of how well he did his job and made us feel so important each time we visited the Agave Restaurant. This is an experience worth having!

Always welcoming and beautiful
Cabo is beautiful, and we love the resort. But the staff is the best part of the experience! Jaz, Alfredo, Cruz, Nora, Ingrid, and Aldo are all so welcoming and helpful. My husband and I come every year and LOVE the smoked marlin tacos! Tortuga Bay is our favorite restaurant on site, and there are many options a short walk into the marina away.
