    Resort is on nice grounds but service and food was only OK.

    PROS- The resort is on beautiful scenic grounds with lots of pools with swim up bar Access to water park and beach Entertainment like music, DJ, foam party, water aerobics (bouncy water slides and all white DJ party at other hotel) Trolley service to take you around resort Room service was quick, housekeeping was good CONS- Very hard to get a reservation at restaurants. They told us to book with the app and it wasn’t working for 3/5 days. When we did finally get access everything was booked Concierge wasn’t that helpful in getting us anything until they suggested an off site restaurant and booked that and the bus service to/from for us There was sometimes a sour foul smell I assume from the nearby marsh area Some workers were nice and friendly but a good portion were rude and seemed annoyed with any question (especially in the buffet Selections) Flies were around the food area at the buffet. At one point we couldn’t get cups bc none were clean and the staff were not rushing to clean any. They told us to find clean cups on another table We traveled with several families and some families of 4 were given rooms with 1 bed even though they requested 2 beds. Really disappointed in the food. This was DR and I know the level of food taste and what they gave was ehhhh. Very water down compared to what it could be. We had to go to a restaurant off site and another time we bought from the local KFC

    Diamond club is a Bronze Club!

    Overall, the hotel is nice, and I really enjoyed the kids' evening entertainment. However, service at the restaurants, pool, and beach was nearly non-existent. The Diamond Club package wasn't worth the price. The Hotel needs a lot of renovation.

Beach was beautiful. Weather was great. Food was great especially in the buffet Punta Cana side. Drinks all good. No queues at the bars or restaurants. Large room with great air con. Drinks in mini fridge daily. Pools and surrounding areas all well maintained. Available beds on the beach each day. You could not ask for much more. Special mention to the manager Paulino who went out of his way to make sure everything was all ok for us. He really seemed to care about the hotel and making sure everything was running as it should. We will definitely be returning.

    Very good but not Royalton standards

    Overall, our accomodation was just ok. Upon check in, we were told that our room that we had pre-selected and paid a fee for, was unavailable and we were assigned a different room. The check in process was sooooooo slow. The room itself was a little run-down, always had drain flies around the sink and mirror, the balcony and bunk bed room lights did not work and the room lacked plug outlets (especially beside the beds) to be able to charge electronics during our stay. The bathroom door was difficult to close as well and required slamming it. When we asked the Sunwing rep how to collect a refund for the room selection mid-way through our stay, it was still not resolved by the time we left, even with multiple asks and reminders and conversations. Our resort flooded twice during our stay from rain and we were forced to wade through water up to our shins to be able to get to the only restaurant that wasn't closed due to flooding- Selections buffet. We did not have a clothes iron or umbrella in our room like others seemed to have. We are still waiting for our room selection refund- months later! We have filed a complaint with Sunwing Cares platform and have received no response. The food at the resort was ok. Always something that the kids found to eat at the buffet and restaurants. The wait times at the beach grill could get quite long. The beach was very clean and so was the resort property. Unfortunately, the a la carte restaurants at the other Royalton beside us we were not allowed to use unless we wanted to pay $40USD pp….there was mixed messages about which restaurants Splash vs Royalton guests were allowed to attend. Apparently, Splash guests could use Royalton PC restaurants but only if they were Diamond Club members.

    RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!! Don’t waste your money here!!! Go elsewhere!!!!

    STILL HERE NOW!!! We saved for a year for this trip and could not wait to come here! This was the first time out of the country for our family and we were so excited! When we arrived, they told us the pools were open until 6 and water park until 6 (pools only open until 7). We were put on the first floor family room. The room wreaked of mildew and mold, the walls were water damaged, and it was so damp the pillows were moist and so were the blankets. It seems as if the first floor maybe had a flood and they are still attempting to rent out those atrocious rooms. We also had MANY little black flies surrounding our bathroom; in the sink, on the mirrors, on the walls. The first night, my daughter screamed because there was a roach the size of a bird standing at the top of her bunk bed staring at her. Her dad caught it and found out they were coming from an open hole in the wall that wasn’t sealed off, so we had to stuff towels in there so no more roaches would come out and crawl on her. After complaining, they moved our room to the third floor, and it’s night and day. The room doesn’t smell and it’s been fine. Upon booking this resort, we were told we’d have access to the other Royalton resort with transportation included. We attempted to dine at the other Royalton resort one evening and they told us we weren’t allowed - they treated us like we were peasants - and told us to leave. I find that odd because the people at that Royalton resort can come to Royalton Splash and dine there. Also, they tell us to book the reservation for dinner via their app, but every night is booked, so we have not been able to dine at any restaurant here except for one. We have been forced to eat the HORRIBLE buffet food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s horrible food. And if you miss the times for that, there’s no where else to get snacks, so you’re stuck being hungry 90% of the time on your vacation. There is room service but they like to cancel your order half the time if you don’t answer your room phone (how can you if you’re in the pool, etc) or if they send you a text (how can you respond if you’re in the pool, etc). When I call guest services to re stock the fridge, or for something we need, they say they’re coming and never show up. The first night we asked them for pillows and blankets for my daughter because she had NONE and they never brought them after three calls. They stop answering the phones after a few calls. We’ve also been told that we can reserve restaurants by calling guest services, but they never answer the phones. We paid a lot of money for the trip, and I have had better trips to Florida, which is sad. We can’t even get a decent meal here. What did we pay for?!?! I was expecting so much more for my family out of this trip. I have no words. If you’re thinking of booking here, think again and do your research. These people don’t care about you. They’ll take your money then run when you get here. The employees that work here are very friendly and hard working, I will give them that, but that’s as far as it goes. The management is well aware of our issues and no one’s reached out to help us AT ALL. Our travel agent has been trying to get a hold of anyone and everyone here about these issues and even she is being ignored. What a joke.
