It's all about the food. And service. And the beach. And....
Great resort with an incredible food selection (try the parmesan chicken pasta at the Italian restaurant...so good). At the main buffet, ask for Felix Lorenzo. He is funny, curious and always attentive. Yesterday for dinner, the buffet had lobster, crab, mussels, and about 10 different types of fish, in addition to a huge sushi selection and a bunch of different types of BBQ meats. So good! We opted for the Diamond Club and all in all it was worth it for us. It really depends on what you value. Diamond Club makes you feel like a VIP. Great service. Our butler is Pico. He is amazing. Takes care of anything we need. Like our own personal concierge service. During our two weeks, we opted for a swim out during the second half. Wow!!! Truly out of this world. All in, highly recommend this resort and the whole Royalton chain. I think we'll try the Bavaro next (newer and munch bigger).
At the restaurant the service was great. They served a 23 person family with ease and made the meal enjoyable with their presence. Other than the food the accomodations at the resort are great. The gym always has people inside to help you. When i got into the gym john, michael and felix where all standing there to help. 10/10 recommend
Great Hotel for a family vacation
Great hotel for family vacation. Beautiful, clean with good food. Really liked that no reservations were required to the restaurants except for Japanese. Beach narrow comparing to other resorts with lots of sea weed - not resort fault. Big, clean pools. Nice entertainment around resort. Beautiful shows in theatre every night. Kids loved ordering room service from tv. Nice water park and teens club at Sister Grand Memories resort that Royalton guests can use. Stayed in building 4 - 2 families. Our concierge was very nice only till he got us to go for 90 min presentation of time shares. After that he did not even acknowledge us since we did not buy :) not a big deal, did not ruin my vacation. Once our AC broke and maintenance fixed it quickly. Would definitely return to this resort.
I stayed at the Royalton in July as part of a group of 8. The group was made up of 4 parents, 2 19 year old & 2 16 year old. We all agreed that the Royalton had everything we could have hoped for & needed. This is without doubt the best resort I have ever experienced (and I've stayed in a few!). Not only is the resort amazingly clean, with plenty of choice of excellent restaurants, bar and relaxation areas, but also the staff are amazing. We did up grade to DC & had two incredible butlers in Miguel & Joel, who went above & beyond expectations & were also amazing people with great personalities. They along with the other DC members of staff including Yahira & Elaine made our stay so relaxing & stress free, anything we asked for was never to much trouble. They organised everything for us, our restaurant, tennis and spa bookings & always checked daily that we had everything we needed in a friendly unobtrusive way. I would also like to give a special mention to Eliseo & Angel in the DC beach bar who looked after us so well & were always so amazingly friendly. also a special mention to Santa in the reception bar who again was so amazing. We found all the staff very friendly & helpful but these guys stood out because we had more dealings with them. The biggest compliments I can give the Royalton are it was total worth the money we spent & I have been back home now for nearly two weeks and I wish I was still there.Amazing resort & staff. Thank you so much for such a great holiday.
Diamond Club Ore Not?
I’m very surprised about all those reviews writing about the wonderful service from the butlers at the DC. We went last year in November 2018 for 11 nights and had DC. You have a check in,in the DC instead of the reception. You get a black bracelet instead of a white one. There is a DC lounge with drinks and a few snacks ( who want this after all this food whole day long ) You see the butler at the breakfast table asking if everything is ok and make for you your restaurant reservation ( we eat always around 20:30 and there was always enough place in the restaurant ). The premium drinks are nothing special ,I like Hendricks Gin but i as a DC member I had to pay extra for this, even for simple Corona you have to pay extra ( see photo) The hotel is very good in every way. We booked for this year to go again but in Royalton Bavaro. Last year we went for 11 nights, this year we stay for 14 nights instead of DC ( 3 nights extra for the same price as 11 nights including DC ) So make up your mind “Diamond Club Ore not” ?
