Wonderful Grace Bay Option
We stayed here for 4 nights while on a trip to Turks & Caicos. The room was spacious, kitchen was great to have. It’s a wonderful option for staying right on Grace Bay without spending a fortune. The staff isn’t the friendliest, and they do use quite a few chemicals with the grounds upkeep. The chemical smell really does linger and made lounging by the pool impossible. We would absolutely stay here again!
PINA COLATA STUDEL !!
The Pina Colada Strudel is simply out of this world!! The Happy Hour is great with all kinds of drinks at half price. The ambiance is very high-end relaxed. The tables overlook a beautiful pool surrounded by flowers and palm trees!! Check out this very special restaurant/bar................
Great place to stay.
This resort is one of the smaller ones on Grace Bay ( some are huge). The groundskeepers keep everything perfectly trimmed all the time!. Rooms are nicely furnished, very clean, have coffee, tea, microwave, fridge & even apartment sized washer & dryer, also. patios which had a table & chairs. Our room was about 15 steps from a wonderful pool & Jacuzzi. There is a nice restaurant & bar on the property- great servers- Geon & Mila. A lovely stretch of beach just a few steps further and beach towels always available. Warm, clear water, easy waves & 3-4 feet deep for quite a ways out.
Best part is the beach.
Just returned from a 6 day stay at Royal West Indies celebrating our 25th Anniversary. Some pros.....the grounds, the beach, the cleaning/bar/grounds staff were nice. Our room was clean, could use updating and we had a nice view of the pool and grounds. Some cons....terrible pillows, the resort restaurant and bar is pricey($30US for 2 drinks) but they do have happy hour and specialty nights. The worst part for me was the location, we didn't rent a car and the restaurants in the immediate area are on the pricier side. A better selection of restaurants and the local IGA are found downtown which is about 15-20 min walk. A section of the walk there is along a wooded area which could be an issue at night. We were warned by a couple of locals to avoid the area at night if possible. If you venture off the resort at dusk bug spray is a must, the resort is sprayed. I wouldn't stay at this resort again because I would rather stay closer to downtown where everything is in walking distance.
****STAY AWAY*** The resort looks very promising but this is all a hype. The light dim and the reality becomes a bit more harsh than expected. To begin, the positives here are that the hotel was empty. The rooms were cleaned every day. The mattresses are super soft, and worn towards the center giving your body the feeling that it’s sinking. If that’s your preference that’s awesome, but if it’s not you’re going to be like me and that’s struggling to sleep because your back hurts. These are about the only positives of this hotel. Now for the important details that are left out of other reviews, as I have read them before coming to this hotel. Front desk staff are absolutely unwilling to help unless you mention the phrase “I’ll pay.” At which point you’ll be paying double. The manager was absolutely helpless. The gentleman who works at the front desk, same as the one who escorts you to your room is extremely rude. When speaking to a manager he doesn’t know how to stand still and be quiet but instead leaves his 2 cents after every sentence you try to squeeze out. Unless your mentality is to go, sleep and leave..consider another property to stay at. Like a studio villa which is $150 a night for however many people it can hold. This hotel isn’t even worth that. The rooms have double doors, hallway and then your room door. We were next to a room being worked on, so we lost out on this part too. It was noisy, the hallway door was always left often which the office staff mention you can close if you’d like. We did, but they would arrive at the other room next to us and leave it open after they finished up. ***the 2nd night we had a “cat fight” outside of our room as a result of this.*** there was tons of FUR, BLOOD, etc. we are extremely allergic to cats. An actual Cat fight. This property as others, has a problem with cats. Many of them missing ears, limping, etc. the cats fight, if you’ve never heard what cats sound like when they fight, I can assure you it isn’t a sound you want to wake up to at 1am or ever for that fact. The water inside the rooms smells, chemicals? Who knows. You don’t feel clean even after you shower. CHEMICALS...The trees, bushes, everything minus the pools are sprayed with some kind of an insecticide. It smells ATROCIOUS. The large pool by the waterfall smelled so awful, we visited it once. To make matters worse, our room was right next to it. Smelled just as bad so our door stayed closed. The restaurant is a rip off, has a limited menu and the food tastes microwaved. As others have mentioned, go elsewhere. The bar staff are super friendly. Regardless, I’ve learned my lesson. Even though we only spent $580 per person for 7 days at this resort, it left a taste so bad in my mouth I wouldn’t even spend half of this. Would not go back, would never recommend but would for sure share my experience with anyone considering this resort. STAY AWAY.
