Hotel Overview

Set amidst 27 acres of tropical gardens, fronting the best and most exclusive stretch of Kaanapali Beach, the Royal Lahaina Resort is a truly unique Hawaiian resort. The resort's natural beauty, traditional Hawaiian ambiance, and dedication to five-star service offers guests a timeless and subtle elegance providing for the ultimate in relaxation and tranquility. You will know you're in Hawaii the moment you set foot in the understated lobby. From the cool flagstone beneath your feet to the warm koa-wood walls and inviting wicker easy chairs, you will feel the soothing embrace of the tropics.

The resort's original garden and oceanfront cottage accommodations evoke a quaint beachside experience reminiscent of Hawaii's Plantation Era, situated amid tropical gardens and sprawling oceanfront lawns. With ceiling fans stirring the soft air, inviting couches, and island-style appointments throughout, they have the distinctly homey feel of a relative's beachfront hideaway.

The 12-story Lahaina Kai Tower features luxurious island-inspired guestrooms and suites celebrating the artistry, environment and culture of Hawaii. Each contemporary room pays tribute to the Islands with custom teak furnishings, hand-selected paintings and photographs, and a soft palette that plays counterpoint to the spectacular tropical setting.

Appetites large and small, casual, and cosmopolitan, traditional and adventurous will be more than satisfied by the culinary offerings at Royal Lahaina Resort. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, pupus (delectable snacks), and a full complement of tropical cocktails - eat, indulge, enjoy. Whether it is that first irresistibly cooling lick of a locally made ice cream cone at the Royal Scoop, a meticulously prepared and stunningly presented fresh island fish at The Royal Ocean Terrace, or the signature Mai Tais that made Don the Beachcomber internationally famous, you will dine like royalty.

Don't be surprised if you are joined by visiting celebrities! And beginning in late October, Humpback whales are frequently seen frolicking just off the beach.

    Aloha!

This summer's dive trip to Belize was cancelled 2.5 weeks prior my departure date. My travel buddy and my schedule was booked after the 10 days we were supposed to be in Belize and needless to say, panic was beginning to set in quickly. We had spoke of going to Maui in August of 2023 right before the tragedy struck Lahaina. I booked our trip through Southwest Vacations to include The Royal Lahaina Resort and Bungalows. (it included rental car, hotel, airfare) Upon our arrival at the hotel we noticed how quiet it was. (we both needed the serenity!). I found out the hotel supported 500 bed location for people displaced by the Lahaina fires. The Hotel JUST began opening to general reservations the week before my arrival. Upon our departure, the hotel was certainly increasing their guests!! The check in and check out process was effortless. We had an ocean veiw room... and what a sight each monring to wake up to palm trees and light winds. Our stay at Royal Lahaina was just what we needed. The relaxed atmosphere, the calm, gentle Hawaiian music each day, the fragrant plumeria trees and other fragrances were a treat for the senses. We had an included breakfast, which started our day off just right. (Though, they do have a diverse breakfast menu if you wanted something different). The menu for lunch and dinner appeared small, however, the flavor profiles, the variety of options did not limit one's choices. Often the Chef popped out of the kitchen to deliver the food! The property has two pools and a large beach front, so as a guest, one had options! What I found to be the HEART and SOUL of my Maui experience is the People of the Royal Lahaina. Each day the Staff were positive, warm and kind. They staff, from the Front Desk, Valet, Housekeeping, Bartenders, Assistant Managers to everyone in between, were invested in getting to know me. They engaged with us at every level as if they had been Family and Long time friends. The hotel also has an AMAZING property for sunsets. I felt like "Home". ( I had never been to Maui before). The Royal Hawaiian provided a traditional feel of Hawaii, complete with the Longest running Luau. (It was great!) The hotel is easy to get to, simple and ample parking. Woud I return: YES, without a doubt. The Royal Lahaina Resort and Bungalows live, eat, breathe, sleep and work in true Aloha!

Experience of our dreams- thank you!!

We booked last minute when our plans for our trip fell through less than a week before we arrived on Maui. I have never been so happy that something didn’t go as planned! We felt so welcomed at the Royal Lahaina! We spent three days there and felt sad to say goodbye to the folks we had met during our brief visit. The room was wonderful with an unbelievable view. My partner visited the spa for a massage and had a great experience. The happy Hour at the Royal Ocean Terrace is unbeatable- order the Poke Bowl! And the beach… it is from your dreams! We saw sea turtles swim by as we sat there multiple times. We ended our visit at the Luau- this was our four year old’s favorite experience of the whole trip! We felt so honored to experience the history shared with dance, music and food in an unbelievably beautiful location. I am so thankful for the opportunity to spend a few days at the Royal Lahaina. This was a truly magical time that felt even more special as we learned all the hotel has done, and continues to do, for the community. Mahalo.

    One for the Books

Stacey welcomed us as soon as we walked. We were able to check in right away even tho we arrived a little early. She gave us places and suggestions to dine at, shop, swim, and many more activities to make sure our stay was worth coming back. I’m still enjoying my stay. My first real vacation that I will remember for the rest of my life.

    Very beautiful with great Staff!

This was my second time here and it was lovely. The hotel is going through some upgrades so there was construction daily and some amenities weren't available but the staff was fantastic and thankful. A great familiy place.
