My review of Decameron
So first off I have few staff members that need to be recognized for there hard work and being so friendly Oscar lobby bartender he made me a few drinks and he is the top out of the bartenders then there’s Dennis at the pool side restaurant he welcomed me and my wife with open arms and was so friendly every time we seen him he would say hi and we would talk and he would ask us if we had any complaints and then there’s Rafael one of the entertainment staff he was awesome friendly and we became quick freinds and it was always fun competing with him in the games then there’s ariadna she is always got this big smile on her face and super friendly I also liked playing the games with her to. So now here’s the complaints it’s about the food there needs to be more variety and the food needs to be hot there were several times we got cold food from the buffet and one of them was seafood night I was excited for the breaded shrimp took a bite and it was cold now how does food get cold within minutes of opening also when something is out say syrup they need to fill it back up
Overall great experience. Staff was superb
My BF and I stayed at this location oct 12-16 for some relaxing time. We had booked and paid for the top-of-the-notch service, all-inclusive plus with an oceanfront room. 3 out of the 5 days we were there, it was raining for we couldn’t use the plus only restaurant on the beach which was a bummer. We had to use the regular buffet, which the food was good but they would run out of certain foods and not replace them. Regardless, the staff here was superb and Luis and Miguel in the buffet area were wonderful. We really loved Ivan, the bartender who worked upstairs in the plus only pool/bar area of the resort. He was amazing and very attentive, he was beyond awesome. Jorge, Edith and Susano were also amazing, they worked alongside Ivan for a few of the days, excellent service. We also booked a couples massage at the spa, paid for it in advance but the day of the service, we were advised that the jacuzzi didn’t work and since we already paid for it, they couldn’t refund us. They offered us mini facials the next day but we had to leave so we weren’t able to make it. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the resort and I would def. return, just not sure if I would pay for the plus since it didn’t seem like we got anything extra or more from that then the normal guests. The only reason I would pay more for the plus is for Ivan at the plus bar upstairs. He was beyond amazing and I would def. visit again just for him! The room also wasn’t really much of an ocean view room since it’s behind the pools and the spa and fitness center, it’s not really “on the beach” as one anticipates. Had a lovely time overall.
Stayed here in April 2018 and I enjoyed this hotel very much. It was a very peaceful place to stay at and at night there would be fun shows and entertainment. I traveled with my family so we had multiple rooms and it was an amazing vacation. We booked through Groupon and feel like we got a great deal for the time we stayed. The staff was very friendly & the food was great. Every night there was a theme night at the main buffet. We loved The pool restaurant food the best. They had the best fish tacos, wings and burgers. To this day we still mention that food as being amazing. Definitely going back soon! We were also able to rent a car at the hotel which was very helpful. We traveled to both the old downtown and the new downtown. We were delighted with our stay.

Good Value Vacation
We booked this as a last minute deal. I am normally not a fan of all inclusives, but this worked out well. The staff was great, the food was very good for an all inclusive, the facilities are clean and attractive. I was very familiar with San Jose del Cabo and the entire Baja peninsula from prior travels. San Jose is not Cabo San Lucas. So if you think you will find the wild party scene and lots of junk shopping you will be disappointed and will need to take a tour to Cabo San Lucas. San Jose is a real town. You can easily walk to the city center. You might want to take a cab back. The city center has some great resturants. Just know that things get going later, maybe 8:30 or so at the earliest. The desk at the hotel is very helpful and can arrange transportation. I am a very well seasoned world traveler and I think the property offers great value.
