Perfect Mini Vacation
My stay at RDCC was a short one but we definitely had a great time! I travelled with my 5 year old son July 30 - August 2nd. The resort was perfect for us. Everything was close by and the staff were all friendly. No one passed by us without saying good morning or hello. My son loved that we had our own cottage. It wa a little dated but kept very clean. Our room had a garden view and wasn't too far from the beach or main buffet. (106) The AC kept the room very cool which was needed after spending all day at the beach. Our king size bed was very comfortable as well. The food was good. There was no jerk hut on the beach or fresh juice station like on some other resorts I've been to but they did have jerk chicken at the buffet. The buffet wasn't huge but there was always a good variety at all meals. There was always local Jamaican dishes at every meal which I loved. I have to say a special thank you to one of the waiter's Ricardo, such a nice guy. My son is a very picky eater and really wasn't eating. Ricardo took the time to talk with him and try to get him to eat more. He even took him to the buffet and got him some fruits which my son ate most of because he said his friend Ricardo got it for him. He always checked in to make sure my son was eating and even took a few minutes to play with him eventhough he was very busy. He's definitely an asset to the resort. The food at the snack bar is pretty good as well. We tried the pizza and patties there which were really good...my son ate that no problem. Another guest had a cheeseburger that looked really good too. Only thing is you're not allowed to take any food out of the restaurants. I wanted to take a patty for my son so he could have it at the beach later on but they did not allow that. It would be nice if they had a snack bar close to the beach where people could grab a patty, burger or fries to munch on while at the beach. We love spending most of the time at the beach and not having to sit in a restaurant for an hour or more for lunch. I spoke with other guests who agreed... especially guests with children. Something for management to think about. The bars are all great...our favourite was the jetty bar with the swings...nice vibe there. We did not have much interaction with the entertainment crew but they looked like a fun bunch. I also liked that there were life guards everywhere...pools and beach always had lifeguards present. Overall we had a great time and will definitely return for a longer period next time.
My partner and I booked a 10 night holiday here and it was the best holiday we’ve ever had......you can do as much or as little as you please, there are always options whether for activities, eating and drinking, even down to where to lay and enjoy the Jamaican sunshine! All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful holiday
great location lovely resort
our second visit . fab stay again . food great . ideal base to do all the tours . friendly staff , fab entertainment . beautiful coves , easy to find a peaceful spot. loved the garden bungalows. we also went to sharkeys restaurant , (walking distance) which was lively and had a super fish dish. overall ideal hotel for a Jamaica first timer . we much prefer these small and friendly resorts to the large ones. My go-to summer spot
Love this vacation spot for my anniversary celebrations. I am a repeat visitor since July 31, 2017. This year, I found the staff to be more relaxed in their demeanor though service has always been excellent. Change of management? I love the gardens, the ocean and the coolness of the breeze on the jetty. The food is excellent with a great variety of dishes. Will return.
