Budget Friendly, Great Atmosphere
6 Ladies visited in May for the first time. We loved every minute of it. The location is great - you can venture out of the resort to shops, Paulines & Lorna's, grocery, the bar across the street. Taxi drivers are available right outside the gate. The staff is the real jewel of the place. While on the beach CJ Crazy & CJ Caring were excellent to converse with and always greeted us with a smile. Orlando the life guard was great as well. They made a point to address you, and see if they could help you in anyway. We felt safe and cared for as if we were with family. The drinks were good, the food was good and plentiful, the beach was beautiful with plenty of lounge chairs available. We stayed in cottages with big, comfortable beds. The rooms do not have coffee pots or refrigerators (although you can buy one if available for $5 USD a day). Each morning I got up and went and got my coffee at the pool bar or lobby, and it was hot and ready - very good. The resort is as described, a 3-Star. The grounds are beautiful, the people are kind and helpful, the accommodations are adequate. There is nothing fancy about the property. All you need is your swim suits, some shorts, tanks, and flip flops. It's comfortable and the atmosphere is all laid back Jamaica - it's so wonderful that we booked again within a week of returning home.
Great time can’t wait to go again.
Just got back from a week and loved it! We went on our honeymoon there and got a bottle of champers bought to the hut which was a nice touch. The bungalows are perfectly adequate and we had a huge comfy bed, they are also clean and the maid service comes in every day. The food and drinks are great and even the fussiest eater should find something! The beach is beautiful and the pools clean. You do have to pay for WiFi but 20usd was enough for us two for the whole week. It is a bit patchy but I was on holiday and happy to be off the grid from time to time. If you want 5 star then you have to pay for it but this little gem of a resort is so different and lovely we will definitely be going back.
Was ok, just ok
First of all, the front desk staff was not very welcoming, my boyfriend and I arrived a little after 1 PM and were asked to give them about 10 mins because they were dealing with persons checking out first. After 15 minutes I went back to them to check and the supervisor on duty, (judith I think) didnt even look up at me she just said rudely "give us a few more minutes " so I went to the gentleman that was there and he politely asked us for more time so I asked to take a walk and he said that was fine. Anyhoo, good help was hard to find, because the staff overall seemed a bit moody and unwelcoming so I have to shout out the very few that made my stay worthwhile: phillip smith , our server at the main buffet, keep doing a wonderful job and the guy at the jetty bar sorry I didnt get ur name but u made the best mixed drinks at the hotel!! Also, thanks to the gentleman at the front desk who was the only one who showed exemplary customer service under pressure (from the amount of check outs they had) at the front desk. In other news, the food was awesome, not many options but the very few were good. They had two restaurants and a main restaurant/buffet area. Personally, the nyammings restaurant had the best customer service and the food was better there, the jasmine delta restaurant said whatever they served us was thai food but it tasted nothing like it. We were 15 minutes late for the reservation but called to say we were on our way and they said it was fine but when we got there they wanted to turn us back, even though the place was half empty, and it was my birthday so that wasn't a good experience.. overall Decent facilities, watersports and kayaking were pretty good. The beach is lovely, you have different sections where u can go and relax. Now let's get to these rooms...we stayed in a courtyard room, which was outside of the hotel along with the superior rooms (womp, womp) we didnt know we had to literally pass the lobby Nd head back out to get to our room, we would have much preferred a garden cottage (which apparently was the same price) but inside and in close proximity to everywhere (pool, beach, food etc). But we know now for next time! The room was quite small and the bathroom had a shower curtain instead of like a sliding glass door or open shower or something, i just haven't seen a shower curtain in an all inclusive hotel in a while (call me weird) but you get what you pay for I guess, there was no liquor in the room just 4 canned sodas. All in all, it was a decent stay for the price and I would actually go back if I didnt have any other options.
I enjoyed my short stay at the resort this past weekend. Ollisha was one of the best bartenders I ever had! She made some of the best drinks off the whim. The rooms were clean and the staff was very polite. The beds were comfortable and clean with white linens. Food was okay, the curry goat was flavorful and tender, but the chicken was very dry, plentiful fruits and desserts. Pools are always clean as well as the beaches and chairs surrounding the area. Be prepared to pay extra on certain things, safety deposit box, in country phone calls, and wifi. Search for a good taxi service outside of the resort, the prices they provide are absurd and will reduce your entertainment budget a lot. We used Phill with blessed love tours at 876-863-0363. He made sure we were safe and not ripped off. I feel that if I am visiting Jamaica I wanted to feel, taste and see the culture. I noticed such as the entertainment and certain themed nights was more to accommodate the European guests than to stick to their roots. Maybe less commercial music, and dancers of color not the palest ones you can find.
Can’t say enough about this place. From the animation team (Brian, Mickey, Leah and maleek) to the bartenders (Alicia, Damian (both) to Dante) to the servers and the grounds crew, always a smile and willing to help with anything. Buffet was good. Nice curry goat, braised liver, oxtail. You name it. If there was one complaint, it would be to renumber the cottages so it was in order instead of random numbers in certain areas. That’s how minor any complaints were. See you guys again next year! Chris and Lacey
