We had a fabulous time!
The resort was beautiful with lots of seating at pools, bars and beaches. I appreciated that I didn't have to get up early and rush to reserve a seat like at some resorts. There was always plenty of seating and the beach was the absolute best. We walked up and down the coast and the palm trees gave such nice shade, none of the other resorts we passed were any better than RIU and many were more expensive.

Vacation from hell.
Riu Republica – A Failing Resort That’s No Longer Worth Your Money If you're considering Riu Republica, DON'T. This resort has fallen so far from what it used to be that calling it a 5-star property is a complete joke. Let’s start with the only two good things—the steakhouse and the jerk chicken BBQ area. Both were solid, but honestly, that’s not enough to make up for the disaster the rest of the resort has become. Service? Only If You Tip. The waitstaff? Mediocre at best, uninterested at worst. If you’re not handing out tips constantly, expect indifference, lack of smiles, and a complete absence of customer service. A resort that claims to be top-tier should have staff who actually care about their guests—not just about getting tipped. The food was not the greatest, we just tried to find something that would not make us sick. Failed there, I was sick for 2 days. So where many of the people on our trip. Rooms That Should Be Condemned. We traveled with a group of 21 people, 6 of our 12 rooms had to change multiple times because of horrendous smells, broken toilets, and unacceptable conditions. Facilities? Falling Apart. It’s clear that Riu has stopped investing in maintaining this property. The resort is outdated, poorly maintained, and in desperate need of renovations. What used to be a well-respected resort has deteriorated into a budget-level disaster. Final Verdict? AVOID. Riu Republica is no longer worth your time or money. If you’re looking for a real 5-star experience, spend a little more and go to Hard Rock’s Adults-Only section—you’ll actually get what you pay for. As for Riu? I will NEVER stay at one of their resorts again. Save yourself the disappointment and book elsewhere.

Multiple visits here .. keeps getting worse 😳
Arrived Jan 5th for 2 weeks .. still here 😊 staff bar tenders entertainment still great as usual 🥳 The hotel housekeeping isn’t so good .. and we tip $5 daily 😳 floors not washed sinks not cleaned and outside patio dirty . The hotel itself is falling apart 😳 bathroom by the pool bar the lock has been broken since last year (no joke) complained several times and actually walked the maintenance staff over to the stall itself they looked at it and left 😳 (it’s been broken for 1 full year) .. elevators constantly broken down (I’m on the 4th floor with a bad knee) really dirty as well looks just like they did last year 😳 I am a Riu Hotel fan and always stay at a Riu (travelling at least twice a year ) we pay allot to stay here and I’m disappointed with the complaint process and actions involving repairs. It was a really really nice hotel they need to keep on top of things or it won’t be .

Great place
Delicious food, clean rooms, coming to the room after the beach, there is always some kind of surprise from the service staff. The bar was always replenished. Excellent show programs.
