Would give 5/5 but unfortunately around breakfast time you can be stuck on your floor waiting for the lift as we did on 2 mornings for a minimum of 20 minutes plus. However,the hotel was beautiful decorated on entrance with xmas decorations and inside lobby.Reception staff are friendly and helpful at all times..very clean ,well decorated theatre themed hotel..we stayed on 7th floor after the reception acknowledged my request for a lower floor as scared of heights..The room was perfect and included complimentary toiletries etc.Housekeeping came in every day..The hotel is a stone throw from nearest subway station and the red stairs in Times Square..really well located for all amenities.. Breakfast is a well organised system and the staff were fantastic with their chirpy greetings..lots of choices at breakfast..we stayed Thanksgiving so the hotel appeared at maximum capacity but the staff maintained high standards of hospitality .. The lift system needs to be reviewed at breakfast time to ensure other patrons not left waiting for a lift on a floor..there is 6 lifts in total,3 on each side..maybe time allocated breakfast times to reduce congestion at peak times

Dec 02, 2024RIU Manhattan Time Square...just book it!
We stayed at the Riu Plaza Manhatten Time Square while celebrating our 25th wedding Anniversary . We found the staff exceptional from the front desk to the breakfast staff, bellhops, and housekeeping. Everyone genuinely looked like they enjoyed working there. The location to Times Square was the best feature and right across the street was a lovely little pub called the Long Acre. Ask for Sean...he's a beauty. Rooms were great and comparable to other hotels in the area but very modern. Very very clean. Can't say one bad thing about the stay. We will definitely consider the Riu brand when visiting other countries now that we know how good they are! We got the Bed and Breakfast package which was really fresh and delicious and they changed it up from day to day slightly. Well worth it in my opinion as it saved us about $50 a day as we didn't need to eat lunch. Our stay was awesome thanks in part to Riu. Cheers

City Break
Stayed for 4 nights from 22nd November. Check in was very quick and easy. Already knew about the charges to be paid. The $50 hold per night was released on my card by the time I arrived at the airport. Room on 29th floor. Very clean and housekeeping came every day. Beds very comfy. Did not go for breakfast so can’t comment on that. Only had one time when the lift arrived full and that was around 8.30am. Every other time we had no problem at all. Paid $20 to keep the room on for an extra hour on checkout. For us it was a great location and would definitely come back if I was visiting New York again.

Nov 27, 2024Would not return unfortunately
On arrival we’d ask if possible to have a good view due to it being our first trip to be told this hotel doesn’t have nice views! Bit disappointed as we knew someone who stayed at this hotel prior to us and had an amazing view. Knew we had to pay a hotel fee which was around $200 but also be aware on top of this they need another $300 deposit. Hotel room was nice and clean, beds were comfortable. Was quiet on our first night but then we had slamming doors from 5.30 in the morning and talking in the corridors after midnight. The lifts in the morning were a nightmare we were on the 8th floor and everytime it got to us it was jam packed. On our last day trying to get our cases downstairs was impossible not once but twice I had to call reception to get someone up to help us down. After 30-40 minutes of waiting we finally made it down via the staff lift.! A lot of confusion regarding our private taxi heading back to the airport also… Would unfortunately not return!

perfect location
Beds comfy, pillows perfect for sinking into after a long day .Location in centre of times square but adequate curtains/windows to eradicate lights and noise .Breakfast was run with military precision and we were never kept waiting for long .Selection amazing and slight variations each day
