Excellent Stay, Excellent Service, Beautiful Property!
This was our first time staying at Riu's Family Resort and I must say, They nailed it all the way! We had such a great time and will definitely come back to visit one of the Riu's Hotels that they have around the world just because of the customer service! We were taken care of all the time. They clean your room every single day if you leave your tag hanging on your door knob (they always make the bed so nice and neat :) , its hard to say no to the cleaning crew that is always full of smiles too). The restaurants were fantastic, sooo much FOOD!!!! and DRINKS!!! ALL THE TIME!!! The breakfast was our most favorite, HUGE Buffet style with so much variety from sweet to salty or spicy or somewhere between, tons of fruits, veggies, veggies & fruits juices!!! (My favorite), so many different eggs omelets, and hams and cheeses and spanish meals and mediterranean food and yogurths with cereals etc...wow just overwhelming to pick from such wide variety! We stayed for 5 nights and this didn't get boring for us at all. Dinners at 5 different restaurants, Steak House, Japanese (tons of sushi and noodles). Italien, Mexican, etc....You will never get hungry and during the day you can have lunch at a restaurant or they always have a buffet at the fantastic pool bar - hotdogs, burgers, fries, salsas with chips. Alcoholic drinks, hmmm they were good, but the alcohol level felt dilutted, so I drank whole day in the sun and never got drunk or lightheaded. My husband switched to Blanco Tequilla shots and that was strong. They have lot of variety of mixed drinks and can give you whatever you wish, just Tell them :) Every night there was entertainment activity suitable for every age, some of them need a bit of improvement but overall it was fun. We did 1 day trip in our 5 nights stay, went to Isla Mujeres which was sooo beautiful! The water is so clear and blue, must see. We were told by a couple that Dominican Republic does not have such blue waters like Isla Mujeres, so please go visit, you will not be dissapointed! We rented golf cart for 40 US$ and it was worth it, drove around the island and so lot of fauna and flora! Make sure you book the trip from your hotel, to get good rate! Because once you get to the boat dock in Cancun from where they take you to the island, They WILL UPSELL YOU on upgrades and the tickets are way more expensive there! So buy them on the beach at your resort by the vendor there if you care about saving your money :)

Again, excellent!
This was our 6th time at this Hotel and we just love it! It is set in an ideal location on a stunning beach with a few bars, restaurants and shops just across the road. Also with Playa del Carmen within walking distance or 5 minutes in a taxi. We checked-in via the Riu app, so when we reached the hotel the process of getting our card keys and wrist bands was quick. We were very pleased that they had put us all in block 8 as requested. Our room was decorated with paper flowers, animals made out of the towels, balloons, cards and we had a bottle of Cava - we were celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary - such a lovely touch. Our bedroom was cleaned to a very high standard every day. The hotel is spotlessly clean inside and out, the staff are extremely hardworking and take pride in what they do. The food/drinks are very good quality, well presented, plentiful, with lots of choice to suit everybody. We dined in every restaurant and drank in every bar and thought that the food & drink were excellent, along with the staff serving you. The animation team were really good, special mention to Didi. He was so lovely, funny, friendly and talented - perfect for the job! The evening entertainment was a bit hit and miss but you can’t suit everyone. We preferred the Bands that played earlier on. I loved the beach party, so much fun, with dancing and live music; Also the Mariachi band that played in front of the pool bar on our last day. This is such a well managed hotel, with an excellent team of staff. My only negative is that I wish that they would open up the pool bar in the nights, with background music playing, so you can chat, play cards etc. The level of the music played at the entertainment bar is just excessively loud, it needs to be turned down. We went on a few day trips which I highly recommend Xel-Ha, Cozumel and a day out in Playa del Carmen - really enjoyed food and drinks at Fah. Also went to Coco Bongo’s again, which was brilliant.

Great experience
Our room had a slightly outdated feel, but the overall experience was exceptional and truly deserving of five stars. The drinks and cocktails were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the food was fantastic. The beach was beautiful and added to the enjoyable atmosphere. Customer service was consistently good throughout our stay, ensuring we felt welcomed and well taken care of. Despite the room’s age, the fantastic amenities and top-notch service made our visit memorable. I highly recommend this destination for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with great food and drinks.

My Birthday
Where do I start. 1. Riu playa car was an amazing experience, the staff was friendly, the hotel staff was very attentive and hard working. The hotel is beautiful the view from our room was breathtaking 😍. I become a Fiance on that balcony 😀. Food was 3 star for me, I did enjoy the steak from the steakhouse restaurant. Cocktails could be better, flavorless. However bartenders are willing to fix your drinks how you like it. Very safe community. The entertainments at night were good. Overall it was great hotel. One of the best I have stayed. We will be back. Shout out to our housekeeper Sebastian, and Domenico the entertainment guy. Please to remember that $$$ tipping these harding ppl makes a difference.
