We were 34 adults--all classmates celebrating our 48th anniversary. WE ALL HAD AN AMAZING TIME!!! REGISTRATION: Great! ROOMS: Clean, spacious and great view. I will add a coffee maker, as I don't drink alcohol. RESTAURANTS: Italian was OK. Oriental--read the menu, not impressed. BALBOA DINING ROOM: THE BEST! The selection, freshness of the fruit, etc. Chef EDHER CAMACHO, EXCELLENT. DELICIOUS PERUVIAN FOOD. We felt at HOME. Please give Edher Camacho a 5 star award. Food is one of the most important features in a resort. Believe me! I have been in other resorts! STAFF: Wonderful and thanks goes to JOSY, who took time to take our group pictures on our last day. She is a PRO. BEACH: We enjoyed it to the MAX, in the ocean for at least 2-3 hours minimum. We don't sunbath, no time for that. DISCO: Very nice, was spacious and nice layout. SHOW: Entertaining. DIRECTORY IN ELEVATORS: Not that clear. We didn't know PB meant until the 2nd day. At check-in we should be given a MAP of the resort, so people know where to go. And a calendar of daily activities. I had a wonderful time! Hope to come back soon! THANK YOU!!!!
I have been staying at other Riu but this one isn’t a 5 ⭐️ Maybe 3 ⭐️ Pros: hotel ok, big rooms and great beach. Cons: Two hours from the airport. Sadly the rooms looks beat up and people who work here isn’t as great as other Riu. Based on my prior experience with Riu service isn’t good, waiters don’t seem to care for customers. They should assigned sections at the restaurants for better services. The Bar doesn’t know how to make drinks. I ask for many varieties of drinks none were ok but 🍷 again comparing to my prior Riu experience. They only open one day a food station by the pool, every day you have to walk to another restaurant and ensure you are dry. Every night shows are a bit late especially if you have tours the next day. Entertainment is great but the lights and setup on stage are on the wrong side as one can not when trying to record. There is too much smoke as well. I’m so accustomed no to bring any Shampoo and conditioner which I only received shampoo but not conditioner because I wasn’t in a suite. However in the other Rius I received new bottles every day of everything regardless of which room I stayed in. I was used to having the bar service being offered around the pool or beach, but there was no one here offering I have to get them myself. The dress codes are not strongly enforced at the specialty restaurants The buffet needs to have more variety especially on specific nights The limón pool should have a sign of no kids as lifeguard has to keep telling parents no kids in the pool. Security should enforce the people of the horse ride in the beach to clean their mess as when you walk there is mess. Sorry if I was a bit honest but my expectations of Riu is always high not this time until the next Riu experiences. Thanks
Nice hotel. Clean. Staff are friendly No premium alcohol drinks. Only local brands Entertainment is okay Food is okay Sand on the beach is black Lots of small stones Al a carte restaurants okay however Closed at times given few guests
I stayed here three days in June 2019. It is located on a quite beachfront. The lobby is open and modern. The front desk staff are welcoming and so are the welcome drinks. The property is landscaped very well and staff are always working on keeping it clean. Everyone is friendly and they have almost everything you need. Gym, store, many bars and night entertainment. The nightly entertainment was very good for a resort. My travel partner and I were entertained. Drinks were the usual “resort weak” but that is to be expected in an all-inclusive resort. The food was pretty good. Maybe a 7 on a 10-point scale. I would suggest better quality steaks. All in all a nice place to visit for the price.

For us who had just stayed at the RIU Place in the Bahamas on Paradise island in April...this RIU was not in the same level, and as explained by the Dir of Public Relations...this is a RIU Class resort...so those of you who have had a chance to visit both types...would know what I am referring to. However once you get past the initial expectation...the friendly staff will go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. I had the opportunity to be greeted on arrival by the front desk supervisor - Domingo Bethancourth, who was just exceptional...making sure our checkin was quick and when we requested a change from the ocean view that we had booked, to the ocean facing room ( a must for those who love waking up to the sight of the sea, and don't mind the added price)...was all done as quickly as possible. The food and drinks are good, but don't expect lobster or crabs, as we didn't get any. Again, what was lacking in food the friendly staff made up for in their quest to ensure your stay was amazing. There are too many people to name...but all of them were just amazing. Ensure that you go before dinner to the Bar Burbujas ...where Deynis.G, Junior.O and Milton.M will fascinate you with their knowledge of the various shots, and friendly smiles...don't forget to request the "Johnny Special " the new addition to their long list... The nightly entertainment is excellent and Roxy and the team steals the show with their routines and amazing performances. What I would like to point out is that we arrived on the 25th of July, and there was a posting done on TripAdvisor..two weeks prior, that complained about insects and roaches in the rooms and jellyfish on the sea...we didn't see anything. The room was very clean, and the maids ensured that it was kept clean for the seven days we were there. Pls carry your shampoo with you, as this is an essential they do not provide...they do have soap and shower gel in the shower. The beach is different with the black and white sand, and the water is normally calm, but tends to get a bit rough...just keep checking the flag posting near the lifeguard stations. Overall a place you need to see ..just keep an open mind and enjoy
