Jun 14, 2025Ok but animal abuse
Here’s the thing, the hotel was good, food was good as well. The only and main problem is that there’s MISTREATED horses on the beach. This is unacceptable and it’s so frustrating because I don’t know how to help. Honestly the owners should do something about this and ban the locals who bring the horses. It’s absolutely disgusting because it makes the hotel look bad. Help these poor animals, they don’t deserve to be on boiling sand without water or food. Be better

Room smelled like sewage
This resort does not meet RIU standards. I had an ocean-view room and paid extra for that. But, as mentioned in other reviews, the room smelled like sewage. The smell was coming from the shower drain. Outdoors, the WiFi only worked for about a dozen chairs out of hundreds. Panama has excellent fresh fruit, but the drinks were made from mixes. The resort met minimum standards, but was not trying to excel.

I already spent happy one week in 2017. I moved to Panama and now it would be my favorite place for weekends on th ebeach.

My girlfriend and I wanted something easy and worry-free experience. We resorted to this place and we enjoyed a lot. We cannot say much of the drinks because we don't enjoy alcohol, but generally speaking we had everything we need in terms of food choices and drinks availability. The room was pretty quiet and had everything we needed, we had a great rest. There is only two things that I would say it can improve: - The traps in the room's bathroom gave off strong odors and made us uncomfortable (we could cover them, but it was still uncomfortable) - There was some unpleasant taste on the water offered by the hotel in general. I tasted this on several carbonated water dispensing machines (as well as in the bartenders) and in the water the restaurant staff poured. Other than that, we enjoyed the stay a lot.

FIRST STAY
"This was my first stay at a RIU property, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. However, the hotel would benefit from having more bilingual staff, as communication can be difficult when only the managers speak English. Additionally, the resort's two-hour drive from the airport is quite lengthy and worth considering."
