Fabulous minus a little bit!
Not long returned from a two week stay at this wonderful hotel in Jamaica. Check in very smooth, even got a free room upg2rade to a partial sea view, I just love Riu hotels, customer service is a priority. Rooms are spotlessly clean and of a generous size. Please note these are 3 storey villas with no lifts so if you request a high floor you will be walking several flights of stairs. There is however always assistance with luggage if requested. Food is plentiful and a very varied choice. There are several a la carte restaurants as well as the main buffet and all are of a good quality. Special mention to both Mario and Daniel in the main buffet, both made us feel very special. There are 3 pools and sunbeds a plenty, with no need to do a dawn rush to get one around the pool. Lifeguards are in attendance, another mention to Ricardo whofelt like a friend when we left. Honestly the staff by majority are so helpful, the only ones who were a little abrupt were a couple of reception staff There is a pool bar service and Latoya here was fabulous. Minibar in rooms restocked most days, and towels changed daily. So if you feel like recharging your batteries this is the place to visit. Very relaxing. Thank you all. Xx
We visited end July 2019. Easy check in. The room was very clean and spacious. The grounds so clean and beautiful. The beach is just amazing!! But I will say they do need to get some sun shades on the beach. Palm trees is the source of shade and need to get up earlier to claim your area. Also you can leave your stuff out and not a nothing gets moved or touched. The food was amazing. The Buffett was actually better than the alacarts. Food was plentiful, lots variety and hot. The staff at this resort went out of there way to make your stay a wonderful one. We will return!!
Fantastic Beach Negril Jamaica
Great resort and especially the beach! They have done a great job remodeling and bringing the facility up to speed. Very good food and variety at the buffet. One night they even had lobster on it. The RIU ala carte restaurant system is still BROKEN as it didn’t seem you could get in after 730 pm as the employees were unable to reset and serve a second seating. So unless you wanted to stand in line at 530 to get in when they opened at 630 you were out of luck. The exception was the steakhouse which was run by Chad and Owen who were on top of everything A pleasure to go to and the steaks and lobster were delicious. The entertainment was better then people had said and the silverbirds are a must see. The beautiful beach and sea are the focal points of this property. We would highly recommend this RIU and this is our 10th differerent RIU we have been to. The employees were great, the property very clean and we would definitely go back
Ups and downs
First and foremost the drive from MB to Negril is 2 hours and on a bus with leaking air conditioning, it left a lot to be desired. Front staff at check in was polite. Bell hop was VERY helpful especially when check in desk didn’t give us room keys. Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner were average. Nothing beats fresh mango and pineapple though. Dinner at the steakhouse one nice was fantastic. Everyone is ALWAYS trying to sell you something...whether you are on beach (selling MANY different goods), getting a towel (trying to get you to go out on a paddle board or take a tour) or walking to your room as you pass the spa (wanting you to schedule a service). Not a place to truly relax.
My friends and I came for a girls trip for the week. The resort was spotless and the staff were amazing! The food was superb. We were able to get the authenticity of the Jamaican culture as well as taste other parts of the world. The staff had a party in the pool and made the stay not only welcoming but also enjoyable. We are sad to leave, but will definitely be returning!
