PERFECT FAMILY VACATION
We can never forget the phrase with which we were received upon our arrival at the hotel " Welcome to Paradise". Nothing more clear and accurate to describe how we were attended from the first day until the last moment by all the staff of the place. The example of professionalism, dedication and desires to do a work beyond excellent given by Juan Carlos Diroche and Jose in particular are the clearest characterization of the human quality of the Dominican people. Joy and good treatment at all times is the most vivid example of quality service. I would highly recommend this location and this team for sure. Thank you and THANK YOU. My kids had a blast. Like they said " BEST VACATION EVER". As a father hearing this from my kids means a lot.
very disappointed with our holiday
We was very disappointed with our holiday ,When we arrived the hotel had no booking for us and said someone had can cancelled our booking , so after a 9 hour flight we was not impressed! after an hour off waiting we finally was given our rooms , The hotel decor was very impressive and the rooms was very clean and comfortable and we didnt have any problems or complaints with that , The pool areas was very small for the size of the hotel they had a bar in one pool which was just a party pool all day with loud music and very disturbing activitys lead by entertainment team . the main pool was very busy more off a plunge pool you couldnt really swim in it and again loud spanish music playing all day ! so we decided to use the beach which was quieter but we was constantly bothered by people trying to put parrots or monkeys on you for photos which i was told would cost me 40dollas and for using my own phone ! LOL the food was awfull my best meal off the day was breakfast ,I skipped lunch as one day i decided to have a burger so i cut in half to see if cooked and was red raw , so i gave lunch a miss . we found the entertainment very boring and most nights was in our room by 9.30 every night to be honest we are not fussy people but we spent an awful lot of money on this holiday as there was five off us my 2 daughters 12 and 13 and my son 17 and would never go to the Dominican Republic again sadly .I Must say my son off 17 had a blast with pool partys ect and serving him alochol under age it was a constant worry as lots off drugs was sold at these partys so think twice before you book if you have young children .
After all the bad press the Dominican has been having this year, we were a bit worried about what to expect when we arrived at the Riu Palace Punta Cana. But within a few minutes of absorbing the breathtaking accommodations, all our worries disappeared. The hotel is beautiful. The staff was super nice and responded to our needs whenever necessary. We travelled with our 3 children, ages 22, 18 and 15 and they too, had a fantastic time. This was our second time traveling to Punta Cana. We stayed at another resort 2 years ago and were beyond disappointed. We are so happy we gave it a second try someplace else. The rooms were clean and spacious. Never ran out of towels, bottomed water, or anything. And they contacted us each night to make sure we had what we needed. The food was definitely more than we expected. Especially from an all-inclusive resort. Because the service was so incredible at the buffets, we dined there for both breakfast and dinner the 6 days we were there. DiRoche and Antonio were beyond gracious servers. They found us everyday and ensured we had a table for 5, plenty of drinks and a clean table. We all looked forward to seeing them everyday. Very little to complain about. The pool water was maybe a bit too warm. And maybe too small for the amount of guests staying at the resort. We were hoping for more “activities” to enjoy during the day and early evening at the pool, but that’s just something we are accustomed to after staying at other places. It wasn’t missed otherwise. The beach was clean and we always found a spot for all of us. The vendors were there since it’s a public beach, but weren’t as pushy as they were the last time we were there. All in all it was a great vacation and I would highly recommend this location for sure. If we choose to visit Punta Cana again, this will be our go-to place for sure. Thank you!
First of all, I was not impressed. I read nothing but great reviews for this hotel. I was EXTREMELY EXCITED!! I even called the week before to upgrade to this hotel from the Naiboa option as it was a special week for us (one year wedding anniversary). Our welcome was awful. The people at the front desk barely spoke any words to us, and basically handed us an envelope with room keys and a map. There was no welcome drink or happy hello.... we just showed ourselves to the “check in.” We proceeded to walk ourselves to our room to find no anniversary specialties done for us... which I found odd. Our room wasn’t ready even though they told us it was, so we had to just leave our suitcases and bags with the housekeeping (weird) as they cleaned up from the last guests. We got back to our room later on to find we had two full beds? Twin beds? I don’t know. But that’s NOT OKAY. There was gobs of black hair in all the corners, on the bathroom floor everywhere, and on the pillows. Most of our pillows didn’t have pillow cases either. GROSS. Our fridge had opened sodas and zero water. The next day it got refilled, with zero water again and we also didn’t receive pillow cases and never did throughout the entire week. Sad. The housekeeping called one day and asked if we wanted our room cleaned, I proceeded to tell her no and she hung up on me. Very unprofessional. The specialty restaurants are garbage. Absolute garbage. I have nothing good to say about them. The steakhouse had good fries? :( The buffets were okay, but why do the employees CONSTANTLY forget to put out the ketchup. It got really sickening having to ask for it every day. The capuchino “coffee place” opens at 10:00AM. WHY???!! The party pool... fun for one day, but they play constant Mexican music with boring beats. Not everyone speaks Spanish so that was annoying. We never hung out at that pool again... Nothing upbeat or new age American hit music that all would recognize. The good music came on at 4:00-5:00ish when most people are leaving to get ready for the evening. Overall I was extremely disappointed. I will not be returning and honestly I would have liked to leave the resort early. RIU properties are my first choice always and If a refund was a thing these days, I would definitely be asking for it. But it’s 2019, that doesn’t happen. Companies don’t make it right anymore. Bye bye RIU.
