One for the books
My boyfriend and I have done many all inclusive trips along with adventure trips. This has been by far the best all inclusive him and I have been to. From the pool, bars, food and access to Atlantis grounds. It was impeccable. Him and I are definitely "foodies" - always checking out hot spot restaurants even if that means missioning hours away from home and let me just say we did NOT go hungry on this trip. There was always food. The a la carte's are not worth it - as you have to wait and the food is mediocre. But the buffet most nights is above average. They even had SUSHI one night, and it was GOOD, not that grocery store type. Atlantis was a dream and I would never pay the Atlantis room price so this was the perfect option. Spent out nights wandering the grounds and checking out the casino! We did do the waterpark pass one of the days and it was great fun! Totally recommend if its your first time and you want an excursion type of activity to do. The people were wonderful, they even remember you from day to day. The cafe in the lobby was fantastic! They always had good coffee and treats. Everyone needs to try a scoop of ice cream with espresso over it - my boyfriend got that a few times a day for his little treat. The room was great we had a wonderful view of the Atlantis. Super clean all around. Will be returning the second I can! Actually just booked my parents to be going this Feb and I am so jealous!
Riu Palace. World traveler
Recently traveled to paradise island in the Bahamas and stayed at the all inclusive Riu Palace. We have stayed at othEr Rius ( Punta Cana and Riviera Maya) and they were outstanding. Food, peopl, entertainment and beaches and pools. ) the Bahamas Riu however was average. The food was average and the selection was of average quality. The pool was between two high structures and the sunlight was limited. The beach was very small and the ocean was very rough in November.
Wedding and Vacation
My son got married at the Riu and my family and I stayed 6 days for a long overdue vacation. The Riu is an all inclusive resort which was well appointed and clean. Staff was fantastic for both the wedding and our stay. Extremely helpful to the smallest details. Restaurants in the Riu were amazing and the food was delicious. Only item that gave me pause was the room service and coffee/bar areas are separate. Didn't have coffee every morning because it was not restocked daily. Fantastic view of the ocean and woke up to a gorgeous sunrise every morning. A++++
Riu - Bahamas - nice but not worth the money
So I traveled to Riu - Bahamas - All inclusive 1/9-1/13 2020. Here’s the good , bad .....( couple ) 1. Staff - most of them not friendly at all ... if you get in elevator and see one , unless you say hello - nothing ... front desk - anytime I asked for anything - you could see they were not interested in helping 2. Food - Resturant’s are small , clean - food ok I live in nyc - so am blessed with 5 star Resturant’s - these are 3 star .. buffet was pretty good but never stayed open the times it advertised .. would close early and they started to put food away early 3. Activities - very limited - but you can walk to Atlantis for that 4. Pool - very nice - swim up bar - not too crowded 5. Beach - very nice - but hotel has small part to sit and packed us in closely .. you could walk down beach to More secluded spot - but no chairs 6. Elevators - always a few minute wait 7. Taxis available at front door 8. Drinks were pretty good for all inclusive - usually watered down 9. Rooms were nice - I stayed in 1220 - nice view of water and small balcony 10. Room service - just sandwiches and cake ( limited ) 11. Nice size TV in room - plenty of channels 12. Like all other Riu - has to stand on a line 30 mins to get a reservation for that night .. please computerize it Overall it was a good clean place to stay but not sure it was worth the money .. the newest hotel Bar mar (sp) is where I would stay next time - so much nicer Helpful hints I tipped bartenders - better service Bring money if you want to order a bottle of wine at dinner Check out Atlantis and Bar Mar hotel - both are great - day / night
Pretty good value
This hotel is a good hotel for the money. The rooms and the resort are kept spotless clean. The food is amazing. We mostly eat at the buffet due to the lineups for the à la cart restaurants that is only one drawback you have to stand in a line and once they have filled for their capacity they won’t allow anybody else in. Most of the staff that work there are friendly however there was a nasty nasty woman who works in the Calypso bar named Edelas Who was super rude to customers as well as the people she was bartending with and this was on more than one occasion. The only drawback of the rooms are the fact that you cannot keep the air conditioning regulated it is either super cold or you have to shut it off which causes a large amount of humidity in the room.
