Paradise Island really is Paradise !
I had a great time and relaxing time solo. Never did I feel unsafe on this resort. The staff was accommodating and kind. Shoutout to Christoph who made sure I had my window view seat at the buffet every time I came. My room had a beautiful Oceanview that gave me lovely views every morning. The room (Jr Suite Superior) was spacious, mini fridge stayed stocked and the staff kept it so clean. The food was good. I ate at the buffet for breakfast and there was so much variety. I did the buffet twice for dinner, only one glitch I bit into grouper fingers that were semi raw.. The jerk chicken and rice and peas by the pool was amazing and i ate lunch there most of the time. I ate at the Japanese Ala carte, food and service and presentation was nice. I fell in love with the little pastry shop in the lobby. They had sandwiches and little key lime pies that were amazing. I ordered room service one night a sandwich and purchased a bottle of wine. Room service menu is a little limited. The pool was the turned up spot I spent a little time there. My place was the beach. The beach is beautiful. It’s public but I didn’t feel the vendors were overwhelming. They would ask and then go on their way leaving me to relax and chill. Not a lot of nightlife but I enjoyed the MJ show , watching the NBA Finals and cocktails. Carry a Bubba Keg there is no beach service so u won’t have to leave the beach to get a cocktail. My only real complaint would be the steps that lead to the beach. I was walking down them with my rubber slides on and an employee was using a water hose, rinsing sand from the steps. I slipped and had a pretty bad fall.. the staff was very helpful but I didn’t realize until the next day that it was pretty bad.. it took over a week for the swelling and bruising to go down. It could have been much worse but the management needs to find safety measures for these steps. All in all I had a great time and I would go back.. it fit the bill for me.. a quick getaway to relax, vibe and chill solo. I can back feeling renewed.
This hotel has the potential to be really great. It's smaller, has nice restaurant choices and it's on an absolutely beautiful beach. The lobby is pretty, though as others have mentioned there is a slight odor there. The room was a nice size, with a balcony and view of the ocean. However we also had a view of the dock and trash area of the hotel next door. The bed was extremely comfortable! The pool area is lovely. The pool with the bar was busy most afternoons with the younger crowd, games and loud music. The pool closes around 6. Things we didn't care for as much: Room had 2 desk chairs and a small table. It would have been nice to have one comfy chair to relax in. Bathroom didn't have enough counter space and the hair dryer needed to be replaced...it was really old. Had to ask for additional conditioner, washcloths and hand towels. One day there were no washcloths available. Any hotel that uses a pump dispenser in the shower to hold the combination body wash/shampoo is not considered luxury or fancy in my opinion. Buffet was ok, not much varience in choices. Edible for sure, since the other restaurants don't take reservations so you have to wait in line for them. Room service has a very small menu. They will not deliver drinks from the bar. I was told to get them myself on two occasions. Once I tried to get one of their sandwiches at around noon and was told the chef couldn't make it for an hour. I had to pull my own beach chairs to the beach everyday. I was unable to manage the umbrella on my own. There was one gentleman working there, but so many people needing his help. The beach chairs and umbrellas are pretty worn out, lots of umbrellas had the arms underneath hanging or blew in half. Guests had to rig them up or hold them until help arrived. There are many vendors constantly roaming the beach. Hair braiding, jewelry, dresses, Sea Doo rentals, parasailing, coconut drinks, snacks, sodas, water. It can get quite disruptive while you're trying to enjoy the beautiful ocean. The hotel doesn't allow you to take your lunch from the Jerk Chicken place at the pool (that food was really really good) to your beach chair. The resort is all inclusive and a bit on the pricey side. We expected to be waited on a bit more, frankly. Going from the beach to the bar and back a few times for the tiny free drinks could be tiring. Bring your own taller cold drink cup and ask for double the alcohol in your favorite beverage. Very light pours at the outdoor bars. It was a nice place, not luxury though. Keep your expectations in check. They offered us nothing extra in celebration of our honeymoon, but wished us well upon check in. Oh...one last thing we thought was odd...we found no sundry area in the hotel. Nowhere to buy souvenir shirts or hats from the resort, no where to get sunscreen or a packet of crackers. I walked over to the Atlantis for some souvenirs and there is a convenience store across the street from the hotel.
Only thing to change would be the smell in the lobby. Also the dinning dinner reservations would be nice or at least offer more tables available to provide for more guest the opportunity for the restaurant dinning.
Like something out of a movie...
This was my first all-inclusive resort, therefor I don’t have anything to base my opinion off of. However, we stayed a total of 8 days and 7 nights. My opinion of the hotel started off a little sketch as the agency we used for transportation (provided by hotel) took us literally 1.5 hours from the airport to the hotel. They will literally travel to every single hotel for pick up and drop off, same with going back to the hotel. So if you want to get there and get back in a timely manner GET A TAXI. Check in was delightful, the welcome drink was amazing! We did pay the extra upgrade and got one of the ocean view rooms (one of the largest rooms) truly worth every single penny. The room had a bath and separate shower, I literally cant rave enough about it. To keep this review short, the food is very good. Breakfast was amazing as was the jerk chicken at lunch (all the buffets were great) Lunch was the only meal it seemed as the servers wasn’t super interested. The special restaurants were divine. You will literally need to get there an hour before opening to actually get a seat. The evening shows were wonderful, however I wish they had maybe something more like a dance or something. The activities during the day was a HUGE let down. There is lots to do outside the hotel, be sure to book a couple trips such as snorkeling or the culture tour. Be sure to bring lots of dollars (300) as everyone expects a tip...literally. The beach is literally the best thing they have going for them.
Only good thing is the beach
The beach is the best thing about this resort. It is crystal clear and warm, you could literally spend hours in it. The food at this resort is tasteless and poor quality. The only specialty restaurant we tried was the steakhouse and neither one of us liked or could finish our steaks. Just bad. Also reiterating what everyone else has said about waiting in line well before 6 pm to even think about having something to eat other than buffet, ridiculous. The service is spotty. A few mornings of our stay I had to pull down my own chairs and table to the beach because there was either a) no one to be found well after 8 am or b) someone was there but showed no interest of helping (unless you handed them some cash). Bartenders were friendly. Drinks were actually good. I enjoyed the Pinot Grigio, strawberry daiquiris and the draft beer. There was no welcome drink at check in, no explanation about dinner, there were a couple of activities around the pool/beach. No service at the beach and even at the pool they would hardly look at you to avoid seeing if you needed something. This resort is good for a quick last minute trip where you’re not expecting much. Proximity to Atlantis is good for gamblers and people just looking for something else to do. We even paid $$ to eat there one night just to avoid the food at this resort. Go for the beach and the drinks, don’t if good food and service mean something to you.
