Stay at RIU in the Bahamas
Friendly staff, good food, clean comfortable rooms, the only negative was by min afternoon the pool with the swim up bar was not kept as clean, needed better way to filter out the old water and replace it with fresh water. The other pool was very clean and relaxing.
Great time me
We had a great time at the Riu Paradise Island. My only criticism is even though there is a 24 hour lounge with food and drink, the food is refrigerated and you have to microwave them I would prefer if you could order fresh hot snacks in there and at the pool bat. I know there is a jerk chicken place but if you don’t want that and just want a snack at the pool you have to go into the lunch buffet or the 24 inside bar. Not really much of a complaint just a preference. It certainly wouldn’t stop me from going again. Dinners and drinks were great.
Good food but lots of little issues
Room - I found two cockroaches in my room mid-way, and we got a new room but the second one had lots of issues... A/C didn't work, multiple plumbing issues, & power went out. Beach - beautiful. Well kept and easily accessible from the pool deck. The umbrellas are a bit small so you can't really get full shade for two people under one, so we had to take turns. The flag system was confusing... one day they had the yellow/red flag out and there was zero wind and very calm water, so I wasn't sure what it was warning us about... sharks? Staff - Lots of the staff are very nice, but there are a number of the staff that clearly hate their jobs. I don't know if moral was low at this place, but every other all inclusive I've been to the staff are some of the nicest people... not here. Food - Fantastic!!! The best food I had at an all inclusive ever. Pool - I was ok with the music but my family thought it was way too much hiphop... most of the people at the pool were older and it would be nice if they offered something else every once in a while.
Short and sweet. This is true Paradise found. This is the best beach I have ever seen , yes better than Varadero beach. The food, drink is, location, people and overall location is excellent. Looking forward to my next return trip. .
Good value for the money
Adults only resort which is a big plus. Having kids myself it was great to have a kid free vacation. No screaming kids running around. Small and compact space and not a lot of walking which is also a big plus. Beach is small but clean and launchers and beach umbrellas are readily available. Never went to la carte restaurants. At 6 pm people start to line up because it’s first come first serve which is ridiculous. We always went to town to have dinner. Food in Buffet is bland and tasteless. Being in Bahamas all you hear about is conch as their national dish. No conch to be found. No conch salad no grilled conch. The best part of buffet was breakfast time. Fresh fruits and juices. Also, cappuccino bar and coffee they serve is so delicious. Rooms are big and renovated. Working AC and room service! Would definitely recommend to visit Riu!
