Simply the Best!
If you want to experience something really extra, marvellous and spectacular - come here to Hotel Riu Palace Mexico. This was my 6th time at this astonishing beautiful hotel during a period from august 2022 to january 2025. I suppose it say something about the love and attraction I feel for this very special and awesome hotel. In this review I will focus on the specific highlights according to my previos reviews that are more broad and have a wider zoom. Okej, lets go. The location is at one of the most amazing beaches I ever and probably will get the oppurtunity to see. ;) The beach is broad like a high way (to heaven), and you find yourself strolling around on a white soft sand, with the most beautiful clear blue and glittering sea by your side and with one of the most magic sky watching you from above. - Can it be better? Locations are more spacious and beautiful than you could ever dream of. It is truly like a huge Palace. You will find yoursel surronded by beautiful buildings in a park of huge palmtrees, waterarrangements, gardens with lovely flowers and Paradise birds singing their songs from morning to night. But the very single, spectacular fact, that makes this hotel so significant, special and outstanding, it´s the staff. I would with no doubts say that I have never before experienced a more attentive, skillfull, lovely, kindly and genuinly engaged staff than here at Riu Palce Mexico. At the restaurants I can mention Addy, Adela, Eliza, Fabiola, Abraham, Hermino, Carolina, Mary among others. At the reception you will also receive the most lovely service. Here I have met Paolo many times and I am most thankful for that. Though, I can assure you that you will get the most professional and attentive service from anyone at this desk. Since my first stay here at Riu Palace Mexico, there is a section of this whole amazing staff that I have come to know a little bit or for not saying a lot more. ;) Yes, It is the staff at my favourite bar "El Palmeral". Over this years I have loved to come to this bar with the most lovely drinks, having the most lovely view over the beach and sea and having small talks with the most lovely staff. ;) Thanks to all of you, and forgive me if some names slip of my tongue but I sincerly have all of you in my mind. Deepest thanks to Ermilo, Angel, Anmiele, Alfredo, Omar, Luis, Leonardo, José, Orlando, Pastor, Javi, German among so many of you (please forgive for not remember all names). Though, the one that I have got the most unique oppurtunity to get to know some more, is Axel. My deepest thanks Axel, for all this years and for all unforgettable moments, laughs and small talks. Of course I dont forget all the lovely drinks as well. ;) It could not be better, dear Axel, that´s for sure! As I have been saying in previously reviews, what still stands out and its the reason for me coming back - it´s the staff at Riu Palace Mexico. The staff, is what shapes, creates and makes this hotel to one of the most lovely, adoreable and magic places to visit. Come here, if you want to fall in love and find your paradise. ;) I did so, and I did found my paradise. And also, I fell in love, that´s for sure. Deepest thanks! See you soon. :) / Jenny Knutsson

Great vacation!
Our room location was fantastic. The resort was always kept immaculate. Food was mediocre and we are not particularly picky. Our housekeeper was one of the best. The beach was cleaned every morning.

Clean property , excellent food, freezing pools
We had a wonderful time at the Riu palace. Group of 3 families with kids. Overall, this is a fantastic resort for food and service and beach. Not much for the kiddos and the pools are freezing. Food: 5/5 - excellent fresh, tasty food. Lots of turnover and staff will make you whatever you like. Loved that the specialty restaurants didn’t require a reservation. We had vegetarians and meat eaters and picky kids and all were very happy. The choices were amazing. Don’t miss the coffee shop in the lobby bar. Beach: 4/5 - soft white sand. A few feet of rocks to enter the ocean but beautiful blue clear water . No seaweed and lots of miles for long beach walks. Bar beach service is great! Had a few days where not enough beach loungers but no big deal . Plenty of shade and space to build sand castles Pools: 2/5 - water was absolutely freezing such that it was uncomfortable to get in the pool. No slides or fun features for the kids. Pool bar service was great. Service: 5/5 - smaller resort and all the service was super. Rooms: 4/5 - awkward with the tub in the middle and the lack of bathroom privacy. No ocean view rooms. Beds were comfortable and rooms clean. Entertainment: 3/5 - have seen better shows at other resorts and more kids activities. But they try hard. This resort is in a fun area of playa del Carmen. Lots of cute shops just outside the hotel.

Great holiday
We stayed at the hotel for two weeks. Nothing is perfect but anything that wasn't right was dealt with immediately and most of the staff work from the heart. We had a top floor room overlooking the outdoor stage. it was a little noisy at night but i think you should expect that. Our room was lovely and so clean. Anything we wanted was requested via an app and turned up almost immediately. This was from extra towels, to drinks in the mini bar, to toilet paper. The hotel is spotless and hygiene cannot be faulted. The beach is amazing and agin very clean. The food, we found, was excellent. The seafood and fish especially were amazing, but so too were the steaks and variety of the food on offer. Just a point to watch for. I have allergies and diabetes, and everything is loaded with sugar . Wonderful fruit juices in the morning, all full of sugar. Also, high allergenic foods, on the international list, are not marked as being present in food. Sometimes they are hidden, especially in juices. There needs to be much clearer marking of these foods where they are present to avoid someone having an anaphylactic reaction. They can be avoided if people know they are there. I requested some alternative foods and drinks on occasions to meet my needs and the chef always helped. The staff work from the heart, always with a smile and a friendly hello. The bar staff are wonderful, especially Luis, manuel, Omar and Rigo. They cannot do enough for you and they are so helpful and professional, Luis especially. The pool bar staff are not as friendly or helpful we found; this was probably because we didn't leave tips for every drink. There seems to be a management problem there. Often I would be left standing at the bar while they served others or they went to the best tippers on the beach. it wasn't good and quite intimidating at times. The entertainment, both day and night was varied and there was something for everyone. The dancing was great and you got out of it what you put in. A big thank you to the coffee bar staff. Wonderful coffees, shakes and treats and service with big smiles. The hotel management, especially Maria, were very hands on and approachable; they were genuine in asking how things were. I cannot thank everyone individually but the staff are a credit to the hotel and the Mexican people, and our holiday was amazing.

Very nice!
Overall a nice resort. The food was average for a Mexican all inclusive. It's probably the nicest beach I've ever seen. If you go into town beware of sellers, they recognize the bracelets of your resort and pretend they work there and remember you.
