We love this place!
Second time here and this is truly our favorite resort in Hotel Zone. Perfect location... we love walking to the shops in the area and hopping on the bus heading downtown. Rooms are spacious and modern, food is good, drinks are good too. No straws tho, so make sure you pack your own if thats your thing.

Perfection
The Riu Palace Kukulkan was outstanding! The grounds were spotless, the restaurants were delicious, and the pools were refreshing!! Would go back tomorrow and will definitely recommend it to others!

This is our 3rd stay at a Riu and we had a great time during our stay. Pros: There was food around the clock and that’s great because I’m a foodie. The service was amazing. We encountered many workers that expressed or seemed to love their job. The room was nice and the refrigerator and mini bar was always stocked. Workers would stop by in the evening just to see if we needed anything. The beach was beautiful and cleaned of seaweed daily. Service at the beach was great too. The area around the hotel is nice and walkable. There are grocery stores and shopping in walking distance. Cons: - Someone died due to chocking, in the buffet room during lunch. The staff and others tried to help him, but it took about 15 minutes for someone to get a lifeguard and about 40 minutes for an ambulance to get there. He was already gone. Due to the amount of guests at the resort, there should be medical personnel onsite or a better plan to get help sooner. - The evening entertainment was great, but there was only entertainment every other night. There was no entertainment at the property when there was a party at the Rui Caribe. The Riu Caribe parties aren’t everyone’s vibe, so there should still be some entertainment at the property. - The food was plentiful but the Asian restaurant and some of the dishes at the buffet were too salty. - The daily cleanup of seaweed is great, but the workers start around 6am and are done around 4 or 5 pm. Instead of hearing the ocean, you hear a tractor too.
