Amazing Experience 😍
So I’ll just start by saying this was an awesome, amazing, relaxing experience! If fun with a splash of Adult relaxation is what you are looking for then look no further! So I originally booked for The Hotel RIU but decided I wanted to upgrade to the RIU Palace because 🤷🏾♀️ it’s my Mom’s 60th and she’s a Queen so it’s only right that she resides in her Palace🤣. No but it’s Adults only and I wanted that experience. So this is my 5th visit and my Mom’s 15th visit to the beautiful Jamaica but our first experience to a RIU in Jamaica, and in comparison to the other hotels this has been my best experience! Staff: Staff is so friendly and attentive! They pay attention to detail and go beyond what is expected to make their guest happy. My mom wore a birthday sash one evening and the Waiter ORAL, who is amazing and so respectful made it his business to celebrate her with a reserved table, special made cake, and happy birthday tribute! I never told him and the staff to do that...they just did! We were both so surprised! It was so special! Please look for ORAL, HORACE, DIANE, and PHILMORE...they will definitely make your experience well worth it! Rooms: Very spacious, ALWAYS cleaned to perfection with a touch of love ❤️ Yeah Mon! They give you a turn down service every night and leave a beautiful Proverb message that is inspirational & humbling! Nice balcony, which was always nice and clean with a great view. They really take pride in keeping the grounds up! Food/Drinks: OMGGGG...the food & presentation is amazing! Normally when someone asks how the food was at an all Inclusive I say “the same...it was good”. Here I would have to say “DAMN GOOD”. I like that no reservation is needed for the Specialty Restaurants. We only tried one by choice...THE KRYSTAL, which was excellent! We chose to eat at the buffet EVERY NIGHT because the food was that good! The buffet dining hall is so pretty with beautiful decor, always clean, and staff is very attentive and aim to keep the place in tip top presentation so you will feel like they are there specifically for YOU! Not your typical buffet...each dish has a special presentation and staff actually walk around ensuring that the dishes look acceptable and the serving utensils are placed correctly. I’m a Pescatarian and I always felt like I had a lot of options to make me happy and fill my tummy ☺️. I’m not really a drinker but the Alcoholic drinks were pretty good and give you a nice little buzz, they didn’t seem cheap with the alcohol and of course a nice tip is ALWAYS HELPFUL 😉. Special thanks to KIMMORE (pool server) and ARCHER (bartender)! Entertainment: The entertainment staff is EXCELLENT! They really work hard to engage with the guests and keep them Smiling!!! KYDD and Lady CandyCane were my favorite...but truthfully everyone was so much fun! Great Music, and always a nice selection with incorporating all genres of music, so no one feels left out! Pool games and aerobics was really fun! I would like to see more evening shows such as the Fire Woman, etc. They did have the Steel Band perform which was really nice! You can find additional shows at The Hotel RIU. The NightClub at The Hotel RIU was always LIT & crowded because it’s used by all of the hotels. So if you’re looking to party...look no more! 😎😜 Overall, I would highly recommend this resort to any Adult looking to have a great time!!!!! Great people, great experience...JAMAICA I LOVE YOU 🇯🇲❤️. RIU thanks Again for another GREAT VACATION EXPERIENCE!!!!!
Fantastic Holiday at Riu Palace Jamaica
One word - flawless - the holiday was amazing, every aspect of it was top class. I would highly recommend this venue. The food was outstanding, the service and friendliness of the staff made the holiday very special.
Good and Bad?
It took 30 minutes to check-in to a Junior Suite for our 14 day holiday in August 2019. We were given room 3016 with a view of a wall and nastily told 'You can always pay to upgrade', so we unpacked only to find faulty electrics and later a toilet that didn't flush. Next day Ricardo upgraded us to room 3047 were the sink U-bend fell off the wall, once repaired we started to enjoy our holiday with great pool bar service from Demar who was a star. For breakfast and lunch Audley and Shaday provided first class service and for evening meals Kadian and Camile were fabulous. Enjoyed 6th August Independence Day celebrations until a family of loud drunken Welsh women shamefully contaminated the pool with sick and poo to riun everyones day. It's time 'Kydd' was promoted to animatation team leader as he always puts guests first not himself! We enjoyed excursions to Dunne's River Falls by catermaran, and Mo Bay Hip Strip and shopping at Rose Hall, a $20 taxi drive away where we saved over £800 buying Duty Free jewellery. We also were able to walk to local shops with a supermarket, souvenir and pharmacy shops for all your needs including factor 50 sun screen for its very hot. Overall we loved our 14 days in paradise with some lovely people from the USA, Canada and England and just avoided the drunken Welsh. Special mention to Jessica and Tasha in the Loby Bar, two smashing girls who's smile would warm any hearts just like so many Jamaican people we met and send our Love to all.
Second time at the palace
Returned to the Palace, had a wonderful time again. We received fantastic service and conversation with Tamar who worked so hard throughout our time here, never had an empty drink and the service was first class, tamar sets the standard and I hope it is valued as he is an asset. On the night time we ate predominantly at the buffet it was great to see camille again who made our time extra special and we are looking forwad to seeing her when we return this year. The last shout out for staff is kemoy who delivered excellent service again! Thankyou The hotel is clean to a high standard and we found the beach beautiful. I would however prefer there to be more of a jamaican vibe as the hotel could be anywhere in the world, The hotel is relaxing and peaceful however there are times when there are large groups of Americans, but we moved somewhere else if needed We went on multiple excursions and they are definetly worth leaving the hotel and seeing the country of jamaica I was surprised/shocked to learn that the staff have one day off a week, coming from the UK it seems very minimal especially as they work so tirelessly! We had an amazing time here again and because of that we are returning this year!
The reviews are on point
Visited 07/21-24, first time at a Riu resort. Must say the reviews were accurate. Clean, classy and relaxed. The workers are the highlight of this resort. ALL are polite, cordial and pleasant. I tipped often but even when I didn’t, same reaction. Classy. Management, take note (we know you read these!) Can only hope the employees are paid fairly, they deserve it. Beach was good, didn’t use the pools, my wife and I are beach people. Drinks were good. I didn’t find them watered down but I didn’t go there to get “hammered” anyway. Food was very good. Restaurants were very good but 4th place goes to the Italian (fair). Cannot remember all names but honorable mention to bartenders Archer, Danaine and Kerene, server Joven and Javonie (on my way to Mexico) and lifeguard David. We walked around to the 2 other resorts but felt most comfortable at the Palace. We must have visited the jerk chicken shack on a bad day, food cold, no utensils, cook appeared stressed. No biggy. Overall, we had a great time, left impressed, will recommend to others and saving to return next year (for real!). Almost forgot! The omelet man... hard worker with his face in the fire (literally), aims to please.
