    Super great

Stayed here for 7 days and 6 nights in the middle of May to celebrate college graduation for one of my kids. Really great experience. The food was excellent and we tried just about all of the restaurants. Definitely don't miss the steakhouse and get in line a bit early for reservations. All the staff were incredible - every interaction was pleasant and nice. When we checked in, we asked for a room that was a bit closer to the pool and they went out of their way to get us a closer room. The pools were great, again staff out there all day serving customers. Loved our time there and really great price point.

    Great return visit!

I recently stayed at the Riu Palace Cabo in early May 2024, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. As a returning guest from 2011, I was curious to see if the resort had maintained its high standards. I'm happy to report that it has not only met but exceeded my expectations. Not only that but the amount of value you get for your money, just can't be beat. The staff at Riu Palace Cabo were exceptional—hardworking and attentive, they made our stay truly enjoyable. The entire resort was impeccably clean, a testament to their dedication. The food was excellent, offering a wide variety of delicious options. An added bonus was the menus and app that allowed us to review allergens (GF, dairy, etc), which was particularly helpful. The resort's grounds were beautifully maintained, especially impressive considering the damage it sustained from a hurricane a few years ago. While there were a few minor areas that needed upgrades (pool tiles), maintenance workers were always on hand, diligently working to keep everything in top shape. Our group of five each had our own room, and not a single person had a negative experience. Having stayed at many Riu properties, I can confidently say that I will continue to return to Riu Palace Cabo (and other Riu Palaces around Mexico). This resort remains a top choice for an all-inclusive vacation in Mexico.

    Awesome Every Time!

We've been going to the Riu Palace for about 15 years. Always amazing! We've never had a bad stay! The resort is always very clean, staff works non stop to make it look beautiful. They are so friendly and always try hard to please you. No complaints about the food. I'm a picky eater and on the Mediterranean way of eating for health reasons and I could always find something to eat! The Steak House wasn't our favorite. We aren't steak eaters but saw on the app that they had a vegetarian menu so we were excited to go. When we got there, our waiter said no vegetarian menu. We were disappointed. We ordered the salmon but it was very disappointing. It was on the dry side and the plate only had salmon, 1 small piece of broccoli, half a roasted tomato, and a tiny piece of corn on the cob. Should have had a side dish like rice or something with it. Not sure why more people don't eat lunch at the Italian Restaurant at the far side of the pool area. It's very good and there were never many people in there. All the chefs were working very hard for so few customers. We ate there twice and loved it! Poolside tacos were awesome! The chef yelling to come get your tacos was hilarious and awesome! Buffet is always great....both lunch and dinner. Such a huge variety of food! We've tried many other hotels in Cabo and cannot find an all-inclusive that even comes close to the Riu so we will always stay here. I gave sleep quality a low rating because the yelling from drunk "kids" that goes on in the hallways ALL hours of the night was out of control. I know it isn't the hotel's fault but we lost a lot of sleep. It was better on the nights that they didn't have the big party next door at the Santa Fe. Some rooms have an extra door to the hall so next time we'll ask for one of those. Still love the Riu Palace!

First time at any All-Inclusive, had a good time, want to go back

My wife and I spent 5 days here in the middle of May. I have never been to an all-inclusive resort, so I didn't know what to expect, but the reviews for the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas were mostly positive so we took the plunge. To give some context, we are mid fifties, from the US, and we have lots of experience traveling throughout Europe, Asia, Mexico, and Central America. We're a pretty "go-with-the-flow" couple and have stayed at high-end hotels/resorts all the way to shared hostels. I travel a lot on business as well and have logged well over two million flight miles in my life. First of all, the SJD airport was a breeze to navigate and to get through passport control and customs. It took us maybe five minutes, unlike the hour or longer we've waited in PVR or CUN. Also, the hotel reservation included a free airport transfer, and that process was really easy and seamless (both directions.) Upon arrival at the hotel, check-in was quick and simple, and we received a welcome drink while the clerk explained the various hotel procedures and policies. The clerk was friendly and spoke excellent English, so no problems at all. We booked the least expensive room, and we were assigned one that faced the courtyard and was close to the stage where the nightly shows were staged. Although a little worried at first about the noise that would create, it turned out to be a non-issue because the shows end around 10 or 11 and it was quiet after that. The room was spacious, clean, and all the furniture was in good condition. The housekeeping service was daily and the housekeeper did a great job keeping things tidy and restocked. The pools had plenty of deck chairs and the overall atmosphere was a good mix of quiet in some places and more celebratory at other places. Each of the pools sort of had their own vibe and we could just move around based on what how we were feeling at the moment. The beach area is pretty exposed so I did notice that the deck chairs at the beach were empty pretty much all the time. The food at the buffet was good, with lots of choices. I mainly stuck to Mexican(ish) food but many of the other dishes were tasty as well. I am not going to convince anyone that this is Michelin Star quality food, but it was well presented and I have nothing negative to say about it. We tried a couple of the "specialty" restaurants and those were good experiences as well, once again tempering the expectation to be fed like a multi-hundred dollar meal. The rave/party at the Riu Santa Fe next door was fun, even though we were easily the oldest people there, probably by 20 years. We only stayed about an hour at one of the afternoon parties and overall we didn't see any crazy antics and just saw a lot of people having a good time. The staff at the Palace Cabo San Lucas were really great. They worked amazingly hard. I watched one morning as groundskeepers were washing the inside and outside of all the trash cans in the outside areas, including using cleaning spray and shining the inside of the trash cans. The pool attendants and bartenders were super friendly and always willing to help out. Overall, we agreed on the flight back home that we'd like to go back.
