Trip on September 7th to 14th, 2019. HIGHLY Recommended!
This is a new Hotel, less than a year old. Went to above with my cousin brother. Noisy flight – 2 kids crying!! But once we got there things changed for the better (much better) Had to wait a long time to get our bus-driver going (driver was waiting for some passengers). Once we got to the Resort we got our room with no problems at all, but, room only had ONE King size bed - LOLL! We both went back down to the reception (Ricardo) and had it changed within half an hour. NO Problemos Amigos, getting a better room with a nice angled view of the beach. Beds were very comfy, air-conditioner worked fine… The only negative about the room was that the bathtub was outside (but we knew that before we booked) – so no surprises there. From here on everything was just AWESOME! Room service was everyday – fresh towels, terry cloth bathrobes, well-stocked mini fridge with top shelf alcohol too. The grounds\garden were very well manicured (in the HOT sun 35C almost every day) The food was awesome, fresh, great selection in the buffet for breakfast and Lunch. For dinner, the restaurants were great also The Italian place, server ErizBeth, very friendly and welcoming. Steakhouse was also great and Krystal (signature restaurant at all RIUs) just great service everywhere and with a genuine smile ☺. At Krystal - Jesus (hay-zoos), Elidia Lupita, Anto (and others) were just awesome. Always helpful, welcoming and friendly. We (my cuz and I) both did not go to the Indian and Japanese restaurants so – sorry cannot comment on these two. We went for breakfast at the same place because of Adela – she (and the others of course), were awesome and very welcoming. Always a smile on their faces. They have several pools and a swim up bar (although we did not try it the swim up bar). One thing to remember is that the beach is awesome BUT NOT Swimmable! The under currents are strong and can easily pull you in…. So do not even attempt it. Common sense prevails (csp) here, folks. At the poolside, they always served drinks and ice cream, later in the day, every day. One of the BEST person at the Hotel, Arturo. He would always came by and asked very politely if I wanted another drink (Tequila or Aqua) and he did this every 15 – 20 minutes. I was really impressed by his style and sincerity. Hats off to Senor Arturo. Made my week. I hope they promote him and give him a raise or something…. Now, you have to try Pepe’s Tacos! Near the pool, there is some awesome beef, chicken, pork and shrimp authentic tacos – all with the Mexican condiments… Jalapenos Cilantro Onions Lime Salsa (red & green)..heck try both why not? By the way – their Cappuccino Bar is top notch. You must visit it even if you are not a café fan. They have a 24 hr. service and the food quality is good to great. Do not expect a “restaurant-style menu” – csp! You can also enjoy their “sister resort” Santa Fe (known for its awesome Pool Parties) and RIU Palace. We went to Santa Fe (2-minute walk) 3 times! Last, but not the least, my cousins “office” the GOLD BAR – top of the line drinks Herradura (my fav. Tequila) Don Julio (2nd on my list) and Patron and other drinks also. The Team at the GOLD BAR is top notch Fernando (the “hefe”), Angel, Texas, Carlos and Freddy. Service was top of the line. Absolutely no complaints I would definitely recommend this resort to all. Will definitely go back and next time will plan a scuba diving trip (could not this due to a back injury). GRACIAS.
Week with FRIENDS
We left the Santa Fe after our 3 days stay to meet up with our other 6 friends here at The BAJA CALIFORNIA for 1 week of course the hotel was amazing as it it so new and has a nice fresh style. We enjoyed everything here food was really good even the Buffet. The Capuchino Bar was a hit with the early risers in our group and always had great service
First time in Cabos, first time at this resort.
Visited from October 31 - November 05, 2019 PROS: Super clean Buffet good a lot of variety Several pools and swim up bars The Steak restaurant, very good Very nice grounds, well manicured Shower in room large with rain shower head and hand held. Housekeeping excellent, made cute stuff with towels The fridge beverages just ok. Michael Jackson show was great! The music at the Santa Fe club was good, english and spanish music! CONS: The overall look of the resort was vey simple and understated, underwhelming . Looks like a hospital on the outside The Japanese restaurant not that great, sushi so so. Mixed drinks TERRIBLE! Low quality liquor and beer. If you like tequila request Don Julio reposado, usually hidden away. DO NOT lose your key and towel cards, was charged for a key room card that is deactivated and stark WHITE! No name no room number on card. $15 and I think more for towel card The whole towel card for ONE towel thing is silly. The bathroom configuration, what were they thinking?! Have to use bathroom go around divider to sink to wash hands, (will attach photo) The restaurant open 24 hours, food quality not good, dried sandwiches and wraps. Nacho chips with no nacho cheese, no bottled water, NOT GOOD! The “room service” menu was vey limited. Sandwiches and nachos, snacky stuff. Only “continental” breakfast. Will not stay here again but overall was ok, had fun with my friends.
Details, details, details...
Let’s start for the plus side of things; it is a very beautiful almost new property with a wonderful location and astonishing views. Amenities and variety of restaurants very good and pretty convenient all day around service with high quality cuisine... The room is very nice and confortable bed with a mid room bath tub for romantic moments. Now, for the minus things, a few but very important; a waiter from the room service offered us fake antique silver coins allegedly from his grandma, not a nice moment, for an instant we thought he was selling drugs but it was just the little scam. Secondly, there’s some kind of under the table arrangement between the bellboys and local taxis and they forbid the entrance to the motor lobby to uber cars so you have to take a very long walk under the cabos sun to take your car, btw the regular taxis cost four, yes four times higher than an uber. Last but not least, there are some people (me for instance) that like a good quality beer; stella artois, heineken or the likes, they only serve XX which is like water. Definitely a minus. Sure will be back and hope this comments help improve the very good experience!
Great service & clean hotel, ADULTS ONLY
EVERYONE & EVERYTHING was great! Relaxed environment but with options for great nightlife (literally an MTV style pool party at the Riu Santa Fe sister property pool every few nights). Sleek and modern style, clean and open air lobby & restaurants (also inside seating). Room was great and spacious, clean & comfortable. Many eating options from buffet style, pool snacks, to a sit down dinner. Beautiful pools & swim up bars. Ability to enjoy the 2 sister properties for pool/scenery variety, drinks & some dining. An AMAZING TRIP, would recommend to anyone!!
