Our 30th Anniversary getaway
We decided go a little later then our anniversary date. My wife Debbie and I flew to Aruba for an all inclusive week. The week was amazing the food was excellent the beach was amazing white sand everywhere it was a little windy but kept the humidity down. The pool was great and Jeffery was very comical and always making us laugh. The entertainment was okay but unlike the Rui in Jamica the staff doesn't get the people involved. They announce the activity but don't push to get you involved. The nightly shows were awesome. Diego on the bar at the stage never let us get empty. The buffet catered to your needs morning, noon, and night an awesome variety. The ocean was clean and never rough tons of space so you were never crowded on beach or at pool. My wife Debbie and I had at blast. We would highly reccomend a trip to Rui Palace in Aruba.
Happy Island, Happy Hotel
Great all inclusive hotel but only ate at the buffets during the stay since we were part of a large wedding group and it was more about the timing, amount of people eating and flexibility of eating. There is a good variety of food for everyone and the drinks were also very good at the pool bar. There is no beach service which most all inclusive hotels offer, but that was fine as the pool bar is a quick walk from beach. We stayed a couple of days at another resort prior to RIU and I must add that when in Aruba, eating out at the restaurants is also highly recommended to do. So it's a personal choice of paying for all inclusive, or staying at another resort to be able to eat in the local restaurants. We did notice that there were mosquitos so several of us were bitten in the early mornings and at night. Overall the hotel is fairly clean and everyone is super helpful. Would definitely come back to Aruba again.
Honest Review of Riu Palace
We travel to Aruba for our 30th Wedding Anniversary Nov 18-25th. Firstly let me say this, anyone that does a negative review of the food at this resort did not stay at this resort. The food selection is excellent and always chances each day. I have never been to an all inclusive where they serve Lobster at a Buffet....can you say yummy! Always on with the review: Hotel: We stayed in room 902 which was a suite with an amazing view. We loved it, thanks so much to management for the excellent service and getting us this room to help us celebrate in style. The ground of the hotel are very well kept and the hotel is continually repairing and painting areas as needed. Yes its a 10 yr old hotel and is a little dated but honestly it wasn't anything worth putting a negative review. Beach: In a word, beautiful and we got lucky this week as winds were only 10-15 kms/hr so it was absolutely perfect. Sandy bottom to walk out in the ocean and you can walk for well over an hour on beach. Sunsets on the beach are breathtaking. Food: Honestly we only did one restaurant, the Steakhouse and it was good but the buffet was our place of choice as it had all kinds of selections. They are so organized in morning that you get eggs anyway you want with little to no wait, fresh smoothies of multiple fresh fruits, pancakes, fruits and bacon both crispy and normal. Lunch and Dinner are even better. From great tasting steak, to jerk chicken, Full Turkey, Lamb, Pork and Fresh Sushi. You name it they have it. Entertainment: This is the one area that caused me to rate this a 4 not a 5 Star. Although they have a great team that tries there best I think the hotel could work on improvements in this area. The same crew does all the show for the week and splits there time between both Adults only resort next door and the Palace. We preferred the MC and entertainment at Adults only to be honest. But that said, during some of the shows they do this theatrical type of story telling which I did not get and actually almost fell asleep until they started doing the action part of the shows. Maybe the hotel could change this to focus on the acrobatics and circus type shows and bring in other dance type shows and magicians to change it up. Overall I would highly recommend this resort to anyone, keep in mind that they will not fill your refillable containers at any of the bars which is not a sustainable way of doing things. They make a drink in glass or plastic cup which you would pour into your container, they need to clean that glass or dispose of the plastic cup. To bad. That said they do provide paper straws and not plastic which is good. As for Staff. From wait staff in buffet and restaurants, bartenders, front desk and maid staff everyone always smiled and was very helpful and engaging. They helped make our stay a memorable experience, Thank you Riu Palace! .
Won’t be back
Let me start by saying that Aruba is an amazing island and I will definitely return but I will not stay at Riu Palace. I traveled with six of friends for birthday celebration and was not pleased. There are no drinks served on beach you had to walk to bar and get your own. And all the drinks were horrible! They were watering down the alcohol and did not have any premium liquor. You had to stand outside in the heat in a line for more than an hour just to make a reservation for certain restaurants. There are not enough nightly activities on the adult side. We had to go over to family side looking for entertainment . Oddly, this is where they have the 24 hour bar..and not on the adult side?? The pool close wayyy to early for an all adult resort. We had to go off resort for good food and good drinks after paying for all inclusive🤬
I cannot say enough good about this place it was amazing on every level!!!! The beach is stunning and water is pristine!!! We rented scooters and drove to turtle beach highly recommend the scouters so much fun. We drove one side of the island to the other and never felt shifty or shady. Stoped at some local places to eat off the beaten path and was always met with great attitudes.. Its expensive to go but well worth it!!!
