The place, the food, the experience was top notch and I would return. I did learn that: - the Italian restaurant could use a touch of authenticity. - the steakhouse seemed to have some unwritten rules: we were refused the same surf and turf that was in the plate of a patron nearby. Not cool! - there is an "underground economy" which allocates the best palapas (huts) by the beach. Again, not cool!

Absolutely loved our stay as we were celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary. The hotel grounds are exceptional but the rooms seem a little dated. They were clean but the furniture and bathrooms could use a little remodeling.

Friends birthday trip
Had a great time at RIU. Staff were all so pleasant and helpful. Buffet was always good. Our group only ate at the French restaurant on site and did not rate it well so I that is the only negative we could give. Loved the beach and the shops and restaurants within 5 minute walk.

Room keys don’t work after they touch your phone pia. Have to get new key. Coffee bar in the morning awesome.

- AdvisoryThe hotel will start renovations: Phase 1 (April 21–August 21, 2025) affects Block B and the Nautilus poolside restaurant. A BBQ station will replace poolside snacks, and the steakhouse menu moves to another restaurant. Phase 2 (August 21–December 21, 2025) involves Block A. Work occurs weekdays (8 AM–4 PM), with no weekend disruptions. There will be limited room availability and temporary facility changes during these phases.
