Nov 30, 2024Aruba is crowded and beaches are difficult to sit and relax because of tight quarters
Hotel is very nice but too many drunks in pool area . Also beach is super crowded as Aruba beaches are public and people come off cruise ships after paying for the day pass allowing them access to everything the visitors staying for week are allowed Water beautiful but a storm at sea brought in tons of thick brown seaweed the town took 3 days to clean

Love the location. People are really nice. Food is adequate. Entertainment in the evening is ok. Places like Sandals have local culture entertainment which is fun, as well as a fun piano bar. Those things help it stand out.

Awful rooms great otherwise
The view, entertainment, pool, and ocean are nice. Except when we walked into our room the was water on our floor and it smelt like mildew. When we looked up there were cracks and mold in the ceiling. The room keys stopped working to our doors. The cleaning lady’s used bleach and managed to get it on all of our new clothes that were in shopping bags. Also our patio door lock was broken. Last but not least one elevator was stuck on floor 9 while the other felt like it was dropping while people were in it and making weird noises. On the bright side the staff was nice.

Jewelry stolen from room
We travel alot and this was our first time staying at a Riu..the hotel is nice, very clean. Breakfast and Lunch at buffet good, dinner at buffet just ok. Steakhouse VERY good. Room service very limited menu. Beds rock hard. One day we had early excursion and i forgot to put jewelry in safe and it was stolen, they checked the door to see who had been in room and only housekeeping but they did nothing else acted like wasnt a big deal. As much as we travel this is the 1st time i have ever had something stolen from room. The noise from construction next door very annoying especially early am.

Family Trip to Aruba
We had a wonderful week at the Aruba Palace. The hotel is amazing. Everyone is happy (especially the entertainment staff) and service is great. The atmosphere is lively, with music playing all day long and a variety of activities for everyone. We enjoyed the swim up bar and excellent food at the specialty restaurants. Looking forward to our next RIU trip.
